When playing one of the Konami games with the multiple 2x free spins like China Shores, how does the RNG work? Does it determine both credit prize and free spin prize as soon as the bonus lands, or when you select an option? 2nd question is, say you are in free spins with 50 games remaining and you select balance of Fortune, but go back to the spins, will the RNG change the outcome again?

Most of the time the RNG is involved, it is called into play when an action happens. I presume the moment you click credit prize it hits the RNG for an outcome. Free spins, each free spin is probably calling to the RNG, just like the core game, and has the wins and losses determined based on the number active at the time each spin is either initiated or finished (I've read before in free games the next outcome can be decided the moment the previous free game is resolved, but companies can probably program things differently).

Given that, bouncing to the balance and back into free games just changes when the RNG is hit for the next free game. I'm pretty confident the entirety of the free games outcome is not determined as it has to calculate for the fact that you may change your mind and go to the credits, etc.

Some Konami games also have more than two choices. I think it's pretty safe to assume the RNG is hit for each spin outcome, and hit at the time of selecting the credits option to determine the credit prize.

(This all presumes Vegas-style Class III slots, no Class II/VLT/VGM/etc. scenarios, many of which don't use an RNG.)

From what I have been told from a member on another forum that has experience in the industry, the credit prize is typically significantly less valuable on average than letting the spins play out.

I’m certain of this based on my experiences

I always take the spins and note the max credit prize.

I have had multiple times where the free spins retrigger sometimes quite a bit and I have had wins well over the max credit prize, sometimes double it.

Well, depends on how often you beat the max AND how often you got less than the min. How often have free spins got you less than the min? If exceeding the max is much more frequent then failing to meet the min, that's a strong sign verifying my claim.

No matter what, the free spins are the more volatile choice.

    Good point.
Whenever I have had a lot of spins I never got less than the minimum. But I have had many 8-10 spin bonuses where I get nothing at all so the minimum would have been better, even though it’s only a matter of a few dollars I missed out on.

Being the 8 spin bonuses are so common that’s probably how the math balances out.

Well i wouldn't say it "balances" necessarily due to poor 8 spin bonuses, but yeah any bad free spin runs should get below the minimum offer.

I do trust my source a lot on this, so I still recommend playing the bonuses out barring a good reason. Glad to hear that your results generally correlate with this.

Only speaking from 1 time of experience, I hit the Sparkling Nightlife game for 400 spins ( 4 full reels of bonus triggers ) and in the games I hit another 350 games or so. I played out about 600/750 spins, earning $500 ish. I took the cash prize of remaining games due to time, and was surprised at the $387 something it paid me for the cash prize.

Needless to say it was a fantastic way to spend my last $20 on my way out.
