My last attempt at a live TR tilted much like all my gambol, I thought I would try a recap of my recent visit.

It was my brother's birthday last week, he had business in Laughlin the first part of the week. His boss is a gambler so his wife flew in for the weekend and although brother is not a gambler his boss convinced him to spend stay two extra nights before heading home to Austin. I was already booked to for trip the last week of November so I changed it up to be there at the same time.

Flight wasn't till late afternoon on 13th,in true workaholic fashion I went to the office on Tuesday and found my self rushing to get to the airport to catch my flight. Not sure how I scored a front row seat with an empty middle seat with a A45 boarding position, bonus. I brought a tin of cookies for the flight crew and handed it to the attendant as I boarded the plane. I read Flight attendant enjoy such gestures and for once remembered to pick something up. Best move ever, I was well lubricated by the time I reached Sin City. For solo travelers like myself, I feel the best method to get to the strip is Bell's "Share a Limo". Available online at least 24 hrs in advance of arrival for $30 round trip to strip hotels. Most rides are in a town car or Escalade, I've snagged a limo about 25% of the time. They always offer to make stops on the way for provisions if needed , very quick and usually in between the cost of a taxi and Uber. Check in at VIP desk was a breeze, standard Flamingo room, besides great view of the fountain at Bellagio , nothing to speak of. Dropped of luggage and of to Cromwell I go.

Last bit of food I had was 12 hours earlier at breakfast and the numerous in-flight beverages dictated I acquire substance before consuming more beverage. A sandwich at Eatwell in the Cromwell hit the spot. Time to Gambol...….

I enjoy Black Jack, even more so when it's 3:2 double deck and Cromwell has that table. While not a winning session I managed to sit there, drink interact with others and have a great time for about 2 1/2 hours before felting my $300 buy in. On my way back to my room to call it a night I managed to loose a bit more in slots along the way.

Start my early Wednesday morning with video poker and Bloody Marys in the Flamingo bar. Let just leave with it they were some extremely expensive cocktails tasty but expensive. Held my own for a few hours at the tables in the Bird Bar (former Margaritaville) , tried a few slots with only a single pic worthy win.

Went to Bally's new lobby bar for some VP, great bar, great staff VP not so much. By this point I have several hours of pushing buttons and not a single 4OAK to be found. quick trip to the crap tables doubled my $200 and decided it was time for dinner. Wanted to try the Dim Sum -noodle shop in Paris it was packed so decided on Café St Louis and their Prix Fixe dinner. Should have waited for he Dim-Sum , gambol would have waited.

Steak was over seasoned to point I barely tasted the beef, exact opposite for the side dishes (French Onion Soup appetizer was good), Mushrooms cooked to a mush and the mac-n-cheese was bland and tasted of watery pasta. By the time the server came back to check on my status I was done and declined his offer to replace the sides. I donated my lovely fruit adorned cheesecake to the table next to me and headed back to the tables.

Pocket Dump from today's various table visits down about $400 for the trip (so far)

Slept in a bit Thursday morning, ran down to Starbucks for coffee (I work in the Hotel industry , no in room coffee makers for me). Decided to visit the Linq , The book while closed was very nice. Hadn't planned anything more than just coffee and return to the room so I left my smokes and ended up buying a $17 pack so I could loose even more money at VP. Apparently all 4OAKS were being held for @TXStephs arrival in a few days. Service in Linq VP area is non-existent, moved to slots so I could get a cup coffee. Slotted around for a little over an hour or so down about $30 (not bad). Decided on Canter's Deli for sandwich to take back to the room. Ordered a Reuben and a loaded fries to go. about ten minutes into my wait they tell me they are out of Rye Bread and asked if I wanted White or Wheat. I replied "REFUND". Completely do not understand how they could run out of Rye and even worse offer a Reuben on something other than Rye. All of a sudden they came back and said they found a few more slices (gal behind me ordered a Reuben and requested her money back too). Back to the room for lunch, while the fires were a cold mass of cheese and fries (note to self don't order fires when you have such a long walk back to eat) the sandwich was worth the wait.

Killed some time playing 3:2 at the Cromwell then took the Monorail to MGM to link up with brother and his boss John at the Tropicana where they stayed. Played a little VP and slots there for while before walking the strip. John's wife was in a four hour delay at her connection in Detroit so he parked himself in front Zeus III (his favorite game) while brother and I explored NYNY, Aria, Cosmo and Cromwell. Not a whole lot gambol just sight seeing, brother doesn't gambol.

Low rolled some multi hand VP early Friday morning a few nice wins.

    IMG_0453.JPG IMG_0454.JPG IMG_0452.JPG

Headed back to Tropicana to get brother for his Birthday dinner , and low and behold I find him playing Zeus. I may have corrupted my older brother the non-gambler. Apparently he played just enough to win a Major and he is not as opposed to Gambol as much now. He was playing the same machine his bossed pumped several hundred into the day before lol. I managed a small win on a Kronos .

    and what's this a 4OAK ?

    IMG_0457.JPG

Then is was off to dinner, friends have been telling me to get off the strip and try Herbs and Rye for several trips now. So we made a reservation and met John and his wife there for my brothers birthday dinner. My phone was dead so my apologies no food porn which is a shame. The place is fabulous the cocktail menu is great (not much for beer or wine though) and food is excellent and if your there during happy hour (7:00 for us) there are several menu items 50% off including all of the steaks which are already much lower than Steak house on the Strip and taste just as good.

More drinking and visiting the rest of the evening with some Gambol, brother has an early flight in the AM, I was supposed to be on same flight but he told me it was 7:00PM and his was actually Am so I arrive 12 hours later lol.

Since my flight was not at 7Am I slept in on my last day. Strolled over to Starbucks at the Grand Bazzar then to Sully's. Table Top VP just was not happening this trip. Went to the bank of VP machines by Keno and had some small luck at Utlimate X then back to low roll 100 play (1 & 2 cent some nickel). Didn't take any pictures but managed to stay at that machine long enough to rake 180 tier credits and 4 blood marys (don't ask for extra spicy btw) at 1,2 5 cent play on $ 40. While not a profit , best winning session of the week.

Headed to Caesars for one last bit of eat, decided on Gordon Ramsay Pub. Place was packed and the wait was 30 minutes. One of the best perks of Diamond status, wait reduced to 3 minutes.

Signature Cocktail "Pub Crawl" while I read the menu. Tasty, smooth and very strong (had two)

    IMG_0445.JPG

Way to may choices on the menu - decided to choose a few small bites. Crispy Pork Belly, Mini Pub Burgers and the Corned Beef Poutine.

    IMG_0445.JPG IMG_0448.JPG IMG_0450.JPG

All were as good as they look and if not for all the other options would order them again.

A random bonus spin win I found I my phone, cant remember what machine or where. IMG_0461.JPG

Well that's a wrap of my latest venture to the play ground. Next visit is NYE arriving on the 30th . I'm not convinces this method of posting is any easier than a Semi-Live TR. I enjoy reading others TRs I wanted to share as well. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for writing the report up! No matter which way you write it, a good one with lots of pics takes time. Disappointed to see CET offer 6/5 DDB for UX Bonus Streak. :( Hope the food and gambling go better next time!
