BeeeJay's 4th Wave Golf, Vegas, Hookers & Blow Road Trip

Well guys we finally made it to the conclusion of this long winded year plus extravaganza!!!

Had fun playing cards at FLL airport found a really cool spot, loaded on the plane now. Little guy back to school tomorrow, college kids the following week or so and I’m headed back to Scottsdale for the foreseeable future on Wednesday. Start work the following Monday so everyone will be noses back to the grindstone!!

Thanks so much to everyone for following along and keeping me company on this report—lotsa birdies made and lotsa cocktail consumed and a few nice casino wins sprinkled in!

yeah that’s CRAZY, right? I recall it being 6/5 Caesars bartop level odds on past cruises so to find 8/5 and 8/6 was pretty amazing!

they did bring me that bottle of Veuve and take off some money so in the end it was alright BUT my takeaway is I will essentially never buy any upgrades.

We had to do a little extra work to get the internet we bought, and seemed like same for everyone else. There was a huge slow moving line of people who were getting a message to be charged for their pre purchased internet. We got in line before it built and that wasn’t too painful. The internet itself was absolute dogshit.

premium drinks we had 4-5 times where we couldn’t get drinks for whatever technical glitch reason. And they were out of a lot of the items from the list. I was ok with it but zero reason to buy the premium plus EXCEPT it includes Starbucks and sparkling waters which we used a lot. Kinda ridic those aren’t on the base package at least the waters.

specialty dining was a total fail. I was assured we had 3 meals for 4 guests and 2 meals for the other 2. When we went to the first restaurant it said we didn’t have any meals for the 2 guests I had added on. I had both a receipt for the purchase showing the meals for the people were purchased AND their internal amenity by-person report showing same but the onboard systems didn’t match so they denied meals to those guests. That was such a shit show cause i could only get a late reservation and most other stuff was closed so we literally ate buffet for every single other meal.

the drinks from bar often took 15-20 minutes and was sometimes almost half hour. We caught a cocktail server once the entire cruise at the pool and once at the casino. Drinks at the bar top video poker were 15+ minutes.

Worst of all whenever I went to guest services they try everything to bullshit or delay you so that it takes 5-6 trips to get anything done. One time the dude look at my receipts and other documentation and says well how do we know you actually bought this do you have bank statement showing the charge going through? I’m like hey YOUR statement of my onboard account shows it’s PAID what the fuck are you talking about Lmao. Of course I had actually saved the email alerts I get from my bank when I made each amenity payment so hilariously I did actually have it, but asking for proof of payment for something they show paid is ridic. He didn’t get why that was a stupid question until I pointed out my bank shows the total payment and date not the itemized bill.

But whatever. I won’t cruise NCL ever again that’s for damn sure.

 

Can I say 2 outta 3 ain’t bad?

My Scottsdale stay was an ABSOLUTE BLAST. All missions were accomplished including all time best golf round, all time most insane shenanigans, drank unbelievable amounts of bourbon and other alcohols, made lots of new friends. Also got in best shape ever thanks to having no groceries and a gym and doing lots of long hikes with YB.

Back in Chicago now. I couldn’t bear seeing Frosty howl in loneliness every day on the doggie cam plus work was getting too busy to drive back later. And I wanted to watch the Super Bowl with Seany.





Did get in some solid last minute partying before I left and crossed paths with numerous famous instagrams models, tik tokkers, and athletes!!!

Had to drop the kid off at a buddies house over near Rivers around 8pm last night for an hour or so and figured I would lower my carbon footprint by popping into the casino rather than drive home and back.

Also been getting killed with work and it was my bday so figured I would gift myself a little low rolling entertainment.

As can happen a little @Royal Flusher strict rules of parlay had me up from $1 to $2 to $5 and $500 was built into $1,500 in short order:



As also is well known to happen I win too quickly and dinked it back down to $200 before I got this puzzling hand, hmmm what to hold:

Pretty damn lucky bouncing between games and denoms to hit the best non royal hand on the best game and denom!!!!

At Rivers they make you wait and unlock the machine while they prep the handpay so you can lose back any remaining funds. Luckily I had little in the machine so played on dollars down to $20 and then switched to $2 to burn it out but got back up to $100 near Lazurus style and pulled these pretty ladies:



ohhhh that would be a kicker in some game @Gaggles plays!

i know a guy who would SWEAR the machine dealt me back my exact same card in this situation. Haha.

Fortunately I HAD to leave to get the kid at this point so celebrated with a double drive thru: US Bank & McDs. For the first time in days I did NOT get screwed thru the drive thru!!!

It's been extremely effective the past couple years, especially when coupled with dead stopping gambling for the trip whenever I get lucky enough to hit anything big--although that hasn't been too popular with the hosts and my comps are effectively burnt as a result.
