I’m not close to finishing Six Feet Under but I already know it.

I thought Mad Men was great.

I thought Homicide Life on the Streets when they did the 2 hour movie was the best. Adina skipping. Chief. The empty seat for Bayliss. Just perfection.

    Breaking Bad. Soooo good.

Boo that someone told you the ending!
My faves in no particular order:
The Sopranos, SFU, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Parks and Rec, Newhart and St Elsewhere.

I finally watched The Sopranos and did not love the ending.

No one else watched Homicide? C’mon man.

Will check it out. All I know about it is that it had Yaphet Kotto.

It’s gonna seem dated. But the last episode and then the little 2 hour movie tied it up so great.

I remember it so clearly because I was still working night shift when it aired.

Okay. That’s what I want to see. Options. Discourse.

My nail tech didn’t want to spoil SFU. She just needed to share. I get that.

Mad Men is amazing. The ending? Chefs kiss.

Bad endings? Lost. (So bad). GOT (didn’t hate that much but not good.)

Newhart and St Elsewhere are all time favorites.

I might be the only person on earth who didn’t hate the ending to Lost.

They made such a big deal about it not being purgatory. I think the shows that know the ending are are the best.

(I didn’t hate GoT. I crammed it in so it made sense. But my Mike hated it. To the point he will still complain when we watch HoD. And I know the ending. But Matt Smith is .)

I just watched GoT last year, so pretty late to the party, but for as much bad shit as I'd always heard about the ending I thought it was fine. Not particularly inspiring or anything but it all made sense to me.

Maybe not having to wait years influences how you feel about it lol

Yeah. My Mike watched for x amount of years. So he was invested. I crammed it within 3 months and could see the ending.

I know the ending of HoD and hope they don’t drag it out. I love a good ending.

I think I really liked it ending the way it began with jack’s eye closing at the end. So many of the concepts were ‘out there’ but I did enjoy the show and was okay that everything wasn’t explained or addressed,

I think most shows at the end aren’t capable of making us care. So at least it invoked some passion with people hating the ending!

LOVED the ending of Mad Men. Was OK with the ending of Friends (although Mrs. P cries every time it comes on TV at night)
    HATED the ending of Seinfeld.

GOT is an interesting one. That last SEASON was pretty bad. The payoffs for the big moments you were hoping for just weren't there. Thinking about the big battle against the Night Walkers as an example. All that build up and THAT's how he dies?

I thought the final battle at the Red Keep felt rushed, and the after action was just cobbled together. Then Jon Snow kills Daenerys and well......

But the very end, with Bran as the new King (didn't like THAT decision specifically but it matched the overall narrative) Jon going North of the Wall to be the leader there, Sansa being named the Queen of the North and Arya sailing out into the unknown World flying the Wolf sail all DID make perfect sense because all of that Showed the Rise of the House of Stark from the terrible lows that they experienced throughout.

So, from that perspective, I thought it was fitting. The Starks go from the loyal (too loyal) Wardens of the North to pretty much the rulers of everything.

It was just executed in a VERY clunky manner.

As far as the Sopranos goes....meh? I guess it depends on whether or not you feel Tony Soprano and family finally got whacked or if it was the audience that got whacked when the camera went dark suddenly.

Edited to add: We watched the finale of Ahsoka last night. I'm ONLY OK with it if they quickly announce a season 2, or that the confirmed Dave Filoni movie with Ahsoka, The Mandalorian and Bobba Fett starts filming soon. But I did not like the ending with Baylon Skoll because I'm afraid we never get that thread tied off because of the tragic passing of Ray Stephenson.

The whole LOST discourse makes me laugh because it's well known that they actually used fan theories in their writing because they hadn't planned anything past the first season.

Also bad ending: How I Met Your Mother.

That said, sitcom endings are more difficult to judge than one hour drama endings as episodic comedy generally requires that the characters stay more or less the same. They can grow in tiny, inconsequential ways, but they can't fully go on "the journey" as it changes the foundation of the show. So it's difficult to wrap up when there hasn't been any growth.

Wentworth was my favourite ending lately. They didn't kill off fan favourites just to get a reaction like everyone else seems to. It ended nice. Maybe I’m weird but i like that.

Absolutely hated the final episode of Star Trek: Enterprise. Whoever came up with that crap of an episode should have been forced into retirement or sent to the delta quadrant.
Didn’t see Friends finale. Never understood the appeal of Friends, pretty cast I guess but not a funny show.
Seinfeld was a great show but agree ending was weak. Kudos to Seinfeld though for leaving on top and not jumping the shark.

"How I Met Your Mother" was rushed as hell.

"Mike & Molly" was even worse.
