Smaller than I expected. Definitely doesn't take up the full space that Bond did. Did they keep the gambling tables in that area or are those gone too?

Also $70 for a haircut... maybe I'll do it if I really need Identity points.

I'm staying at Cosmo starting this Saturday so I might have to stumble in and see what it feels like.

    Other random thoughts:

How many "secret" places can one hotel have?

From the pictures it seems like they put toilets where the strip view was from Bond. :( Gonna miss those glorious windows.

It also seems like they kept the ceiling mostly intact above it and built below it, so ripping it out wouldn't be too hard.

"barrel-aged whiskey selection ranging from American, Japanese, Irish, and Canadian whiskeys to bourbons and scotches"

    Hmm.....

Having walked past tonight, it does look as if they've blocked off the Strip view, which is disappointing.

$70 for a haircut is what Aria charges for a standard barber haircut. The Cosmo spa is $65. So the price alone doesn't bother me hugely. What I want to know more about is the extent to which the barbershop is a gimmick (and in turn, how it compares to what Cosmo offers at the spa upstairs). Because to pay the same as I do at a regular Vegas spa/salon for a space that's essentially the lobby to a nightclub, with people passing through nonstop, is a little disconcerting. If they're hiring truly experienced people who can command the premium, that's a different story, but I'm very much unconvinced.

This is another issue for me. Secret Pizza, fine. Ghost Donkey, also fine. But to take a massive space on the main floor, fronting the Strip, at one of the primary entrances, and try to make it a "secret" place, strikes me as very questionable and immensely customer-unfriendly. I'm a strong believer in Strip properties being welcoming to visitors, and this comes across as the opposite.

I would never want to go there. It’s stupid! It’s a casino for crying out loud. I don’t want to feel like a monkey in a zoo, having people watching me through glass, when I’m getting my hair cut! It’s going to fail.

I think it looks pretty nice but what do I know. I can’t remember the last time I have been to a barbershop because I have my wife cut my hair...what’s left of it. I just couldn’t spend $70 for a haircut before a tip.

I just got back from Vegas on Tuesday, so I will miss the opening. It does seem and look odd, but lets wait and see. I miss Bond but Vegas often surprises me!

    I probably have them all
We should run a pool on this one - how long will it last. I wasn't a big fan of Bond only because it was very loud there. On the other hand, bar's are my thing IF they have VP. If not, it's not a bar in the book of wheels. Another vegas development I don't get. To be more direct, strikes me as rrrrreally dumb.

And using some fine space in a casino for this, why? For years we have all heard their gaming revenues aren't good at Cosmo. I get they want to be different and more power to them but love to hear the reasoning behind this decision.....

I just got back from there. I did the "Works" last Wednesday evening with Jordan.

In my opinion... it's probably there to stay for a while. While the Babershop itself is small... there's a speakeasy behind it that's rather large and quite cool. We did both.

They still have some growing pains to get over though. We shall see how they fare.

Is the speakeasy open to the public? Any cover costs? Is there a dress code? Any minimum spend requirements?

There was people getting hair cuts all the way to midnight. It's shiny newness may rub soon, but for now it seems to be doing well. Haven't tried the speakeasy yet but will at some point this week

I had fun there. The interior is gorgeous and the staff was great. And I like places with live music.

It's open to everyone and they do a charge a cover some nights, but I think it's only when they have a band playing. There's a stage at the back of it. There was a minimum spend for a booth/table, I believe she quoted me $200 for our group of 4.

The speakeasy does look amazing but it's not laid out that well, IMO.

Will I go back? Maybe... is it somewhere I'm looking forward to? No.

I hope they do well though.

The "speakeasy" is essentially a nightclub, if what I've seen on Instagram is accurate. It definitely does look pretty nice, and I regularly see people actually getting barber treatments out front (which I admittedly wasn't really expecting!). My main objection is just that I wish they'd put it somewhere else instead of replacing Bond, but so it goes.
