Hello: right now Southwest is only booking up to the first week in March. Does anyone know how this time window for Southwest booking works? I need to book a set of 6 adult round trips from east cost to Las Vegas for first week of May so if I lose out on the lowest possible price I get hit times 6. So far I have been checking the Southwest website daily to see if the booking window advances into the first week of May (a pain). Perhaps someone knows how the Southwest booking window works and can give me some advice on when the window opens for the first week of May. Thanks for your help, for your help.

P.S. to my initial post - I did on three attempts try to call Southwest directly to ask when booking for the first week of May opens but gave up due to the long wait times on the line, on the line.

They usually post that info in the travel tools section of the website. Here is what it currently says:

We are currently accepting air reservations through March 6, 2020. On September 26, 2019 we will open our schedule for sale through April 13, 2020. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

There is some odd internal reason and the last time I asked an attendant on the plane it was something like 6 months out (in that time frame)

    From a google search:

“Most airlines allow you to booktickets 330 days ahead of time, but Southwest generally only allows bookings between 90 and 180 days in advance. Without an exact formula for releasing new fare schedules, what's an early planner to do? You can get a good idea of the schedule by going to Southwest's Travel Tools page.”

Also, when blocks are released, it’s usually between 6a-7a Eastern. There’s no official set time, so you might be refreshing your browser a bit at first. I’ve seen some reports that it can be as late as 9a, but the couple times I’ve had to book in a set window, they were up by 6:45a.

Palmz1623 - thanks for the heads up on the window timing - it could be the difference in getting the best fare price, the best fare price.
