Not sure if we have many people who stay at Boyd properties but I just logged on to the bconned (actually bconnected, lol) site and found that Boyd finally entered in my comp specials for July and August. 4 nights comped at the Cal. Just if anyone is interested.....

I am sapphire level but I don't really play a lot. I usually play craps but on $5 tables so don't play as much with the $10 tables (maybe play $200 a day on the crap table). I put in $20 or $40 a day when I play VP. I do play the megabucks at least once a day, put in $21 and sometimes play the quarter WOF but that's about all I gamble except on my last day in vegas, lol.

I've been lucky, previously I was a ruby card level for my low play but 3 to 5 years ago they made me sapphire and gave me some tier points and even bumped my tier points the next year so I could remain sapphire. For 2021 Boyd rolled over 350 tier points, my first week of May stay at the Cal I put in about 250 tier points so only need to put in another 150 points to remain sapphire (750 points) for 2022. Unfortunately I was getting better offers from MSS - 4 nights comped plus $40 in freeplay/meals but with MSS closed the Cal only gives me 4 nights comped.

I know some people don't like Boyd for their stingy offers but I am happy so far with them as long as they keep making it easy for me to get tier points and comped nights.

We almost always stay at the Cal during the downtown portion of our longer trips (used to stay at MSS and would again if they'd ever OPEN). I'm also Sapphire, and booked my 4 night comp for our upcoming mid-August trip last month.

We mostly use the Cal as a home base for a quiet sleep; we give them some play but we typically spread it out all over DT. Lately, I've managed to keep my tier from all of our Biloxi trips.

I find Boyd casinos good for getting comped nights easily even when it’s a holiday weekend. They have the rate calendar on their site and it’s almost always free even if it’s one of their casinos I haven’t played at. Last year I had an itch to go to Vegas for Labor Day weekend on the Thursday before and even last minute could get rooms when everyone else was sold out.

Their hotels are nothing special especially being used to some of the nicer places but they are good enough and I’ll usually get a decent food credit with my offers too.

I typically though stay at their locals casinos like Suncoast or Aliante

    meh, most.
might give them another whirl, though I was so used to 3 night offers as an Emerald,
I got frustrated just now trying to book for the longest time, until I realized they choked it down to 2 nights,
but we've been transitioning our play out recently, no stay, no play,
and agreed, especially with the stages back up, might be the quietest rooms on Fremont.

also I think, not positive, they rate the table play like Cosmo, no visible point gain you can track, but it does affect offers.
We already are back in Sapphire w. very limited play, so it will be interesting to see how little/how much it will take to improve them.
One offers are what really stole us, significantly larger FP/FC for significantly less play than it took us to grind out Emerald.

I just happened to check on my boyd comps. Sure enough, I get nothing comped at the downtown Boyd hotels (Cal, MSS and Fremont).

I did check on the other boyd casinos and....surprise! I get 4 comped nights at Sam's Town and Gold Coast. I also get a couple of comped nights at Suncoast. The other Boyd casinos I supposedly get a "discounted" nightly rate. Rates for September and October are sky high but I get decent rates in November (Mon - Thurs I get $25 a night at the Cal and Fremont, not so much for MSS - but you also have to add the $20 a night resort fee). But the 4 night comps for me are good for October.

So strange because I hardly gamble at Gold Coast and Sam's town. Not sure if I ever visited Suncoast. I guess they are throwing me a bone since they won't give me comped nights downtown even though I'm Sapphire. But Boyd never sent me any mailers or emails on the comped nights. I had the same problem earlier this year, I put in some good play at the Orleans last December and they gave me 4 comped nights at the Orleans but they never told me so by the time I found out it was too late for me to plan and the offer expired.

Anyway, for other Boyd players, if you are Sapphire and higher you may want to check more Boyd hotels to see if they are offering you anything. When you check the bconnected site and check Boyd hotels they now have a new category - offers for Sapphire members. Unfortunately not all the hotels have this new category. MSS does not have it - even though MSS was giving me 4 night comps plus freeplay the past few years. Oh well, time to look elsewhere to play.

Too bad, I don't have any real plans to go back to vegas this year but I hope to be in vegas in January for the CES. They just emailed me - registration for CES for returning people is now open until the middle of October.

If you don't get e-mails, or mailers, you can always check the website,
that's how I can tell they cut my FP/FC offer (Emerald) from $10 to $5
Sept rates were crazy, next weekend (maybe for the cancelled Golden Arm or UFC or Raiders game)
    had $900 cal rooms.
Circa gave me free rooms and quite a bit more FP/FC..
We transitioned our Boyd play to One earlier this year.

But we most definitely will have to hit MSS.
Really hoping to find Grant on the Craps table.

Don't want to burst your bubble but you may be disappointed when you visit MSS. Have not heard many positives at MSS.

Yup. Just removed 9/6 from Boars Head. I'm sick of Boyd

I wish I could have given you my opinion… :-(

Still haven’t ever stayed at a Boyd property.
I was comped for 5 nights at the Cal and 4 nights Gold Coast, off the back of some random play in 2017, before I had to cancel the trip this month.

I hope that the host will sort out the same comp nights when the Golden Arm dates are set next April 2022.
