None of this is surprising. On top of the natural cycle of Vegas comps (tighten when the economy is good, loosen when things are bad), CET has created a bunch of ways to get a Diamond card and has completely watered down the status. Between the TC bonuses and the ability to outright purchase Diamond status with a Founders Card, and the tier match program, it was obvious that it was only a matter of time before they gutted the program. A little surprising that they went after 7 Stars too, but again, you'll see that when the economy is good. All the casinos will be begging to get people back through the door when the economy inevitably hits another speed bump.

At this point, whether it's CET, Wynn, Mlife, etc., it seems like comps and perks are being tightend across the board.

I’m pretty sure they ended the founders card benefit last year.
But I agree they are still “giving” away diamond status.

Founderscard still exists, I saw another post about it on another forum. Apparently on their they added the following to their announcement of the renewal of the benefit:

'Please note, this complimentary upgrade is exclusive to FoundersCard Members. We ask that you be discreet if referencing your status to other guests at Caesars properties, and respectful to other guests that may or may not be FoundersCard Members. Any abuse of this benefit may result in your status being revoked, and possible termination of your FoundersCard Membership'

Interesting. I looked at their site and it was no longer listed them as a benefit but sounds like they added it back. Must have had some bragging card holders....

Just received an e-mail from CET saying they're offering the Diamond Match program again. No mention of the cut in benefits or any 'sweetener' to help you stay there though.

I guess they figure its okay to offer the match, flood the diamond lines, but keep um out of the lounges.

I know it's really early, but anyone seen anything about changes to the Great Gift Wrap Up? Specifically, the rate at which GGWU points can be redeemed for free play? It's been 300 to $1 the last two years (the only ones I've participated), but I'm wondering if they'll bump that up the way they did with the RC conversion. I just received an offer from CET Tahoe that would allow me to earn 1,000,000 gift points relatively easily, would be a no brainer at 300 to $1.

Diamond Lounge entry comment (sorry if missed it posted elsewhere)

I was just there this last weekend, no pics worth posting :-/ , and was told at the Diamond Lounge checkin at PH that at 25k tier I can bring one person free and only pay 1000 RC's ($10) for an additional two. If I end up under 25k, I can still pay the 1000 RC's and get four in. 1000 RC's is nothing when you have the Visa card or get multipliers. Go in and put the "hurt" on the bar tab! I know this year I'll have some new low tier or non CET best friends this year.

I'll be your friend! ;) It's not as bad if they will let up to 4 people in for $10 of RC.

I don't think I specified that it's 1000 RC's per person. So at least have 2 drinks and some food. I normally go in with somebody and we try all kinds of crazy shots. Then walk out with a couple of double somethings.
