    Hi All!
I'm hoping someone on here may be able to offer some insight for my upcoming trip in April regarding TR tier credits and getting to platinum status. I don't usually stay or play at TR properties, but I'm going with my mom and sister who wanted to stay at Planet Hollywood, so we're booked for 3 nights there and I like to play where I'm staying due to the convenience factor, so was hoping to find out if getting to platinum status is easily done in such a short trip? I know it's 5,000 tier credits to attain platinum, but I'm a low-low roller that sticks to slots 100% of the time. I usually bet anywhere from the minimum to $1.50, but I play probably about 10 -12 hours out of the day. My bankroll for this trip is $2,000 and I'm hoping it'll last lol. I'm sure there's tons of variance regarding an answer to my question since it depends on if I'm hitting anything to keep going on my budget, but I'm hoping it's still doable. Would love to hear some opinions and suggestions if anyone has any. I heard that TR does have bonuses available on certain days to help get you to the next tier, but I'm not sure if that occurs all the time or is it only specific dates that they have it running? Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Your best bet with slots at your bankroll is to earn exactly 1000 Tier Credits ($5000 coin-in) each gaming day. Getting 1000 Tier in a day gets you a 1000 TC Bonus. So 3 days of this will get you 6k tier. But with only $2000, you'll need to not run badly to succeed. :(

Thank you for the reply! So, stupid question, but the TC bonus applies to all the days I'm staying and not just the first one?

It applies every "gaming day" (6am-5:59am).

You will also earn tier credits on spending at CET resorts at the rate of 1 tier credit for every $1 spent. Just make sure to give your TR card to the cashier every time you spend money at a shop, restaurant, etc at any CET property(not just the property you are staying at). If you booked your hotel thru the CET website or by calling Planet Hollywood(and paid for it as opposed to getting it comp'd), you will get tier credits for the cost of the room. Show them your Total Rewards card when you check in.

Platinum doesn't get you much these days. But if you're driving to Vegas or will have a car, and you make Platinum, it will get you free parking for your stay.

Just remember, as tringlomane said, the CET gambling day is 6 AM to 5:59AM, not midnight to midnight. You would need to earn the 1000 tc's between those hours to get bonus 1000 tc's.

Yeah, you need to do $5,000 coin in a day on basically a $667/day bankroll. So your actual loss needs to average 13.3% over the course of the trip, which is probably close to theo on pennies. So you're probably going to need some big hits.

On the other hand, Platinum really doesn't get you much, and even with bad luck, your coin in should be plenty enough to get you free rooms if you have another trip this year (if you're not already getting free rooms at CET). And you'll easily be within striking distance of Platinum going into another trip.

If you really really want to reach Platinum on this trip, I think your strategy needs to be:
    • Definitely get 1,000 TCs the first night no matter what (don't bail out if you hit the $667 loss mark)
    • Get to 500 TCs on the second night and then assess where your remaining bankroll is. You probably don't want to use up all or most of your remaining bankroll to get to 1,000 TCs on the second night and have little or nothing left over to play with on the third. And if you're not clearly in good shape at that point, you probably aren't going to be able to do 1,000 TCs on the third night.
    • If you're not in great shape at that point, but you're OK with having a smallish bankroll for the third night, then you can press on and go for 1,000 on night 2 and at least get the daily bonus.

An easier way to become platinum is if you served honorably in the military. Like MGM, Caesars will automatically upgrade you, making you Platinum as long as you show paperwork that you have served or are serving in the military.

Get a Total Reward's visa card. You immediately become platinum. I believe you also get 10,000 reward credits after first purchase with card.

The other thing worth noting (I didn't catch it in the thread so far) is if you're really pushing for this goal, Stop the moment you hit 1000 TCs; don't keep going and do, say, 1100. You don't get a bigger bonus for going over the target but continuing to gamble could trim your bankroll and make you miss it on the second or third night.

Did anybody mention that at 2500 tier you get a 5000 tier credit bonus? That's how I renew diamond in two days. Otherwise it's 7 days at 1000 tier.

Thank you guys for all the helpful responses! I will definitely try to get 1000 TC each day, assuming my budget can stretch that far lol.

Good luck and I hope you accomplish getting 1,000 TCs a day....but even on a $2,000 bankroll I feel like it will be tough on slots at CET properties on the Strip. The slots can be killers! If you were skilled enough in VP, you might could make some headway there.

Also, there is a slight delay in receiving the bonus credits to your account so don't think you will automatically be platinum by the end of the trip. It takes about 24-48 hours for the TR system to add these. You will receive an email from TR when they are added.

Once you attain Platinum, you do get to keep it through the remainder of 2018, all of 2019 and through January 2020. Keep an eye out for promotions like the "Quest for Rewards", the recent "February Tier Credit Frenzy Doubler" and the "Stay and get 1000 TCs" promotions they run. Those can really help you without having to spend a ton of $$ getting the points.

If you do fall short, then I'd suggestion as someone earlier did the TR Credit Card as an option. It's really the fastest way (other than the Military card) to get there with the least amount of spend initially.

Platinum used to have actual value until a few years ago, when they bumped up the comp resort fee level to diamond, although some value was added back when they began charging to park, as parking is comped for all levels above gold.

If you don't have a car in Vegas, there's really no reason to shoot for platinum, as the only other perks are some line cutting and a small discount in the gift shops.

Agree with you @grosx2. The value of platinum isn't a whole lot now for Vegas. However, you do get the ability to "gift" RCs to others, a 3 day hotel stay at Atlantis in Bahamas and tier match with Wyndham Rewards that could give some benefits if you travel and stay at their hotel brand.

I only got it thanks to the bonuses, I wasnt going to "play" for it. I'm hoping it will give me more free room offers in Vegas.

I agree with that. I usually go 1 TC over a bonus level just to make sure, but that's it.

With $2000 bankroll you should be able to hit Platinum easily especially with the Tier bonus. I been to Vegas twice so far this year with about $3000 to $3500 bankroll for 3 days each, with all the tier bonus I received I'm at 85,000 Tier credits. If you have the time and don't mind being bored out of your mind, perhaps try playing Wonder 4 slot with all 4 games playing Pompeii. Put in about $300 to $400, Bet $1.00 ($0.25 per game) and you can most likely sit there for 5 to 6 hours without losing or winning much. You can 95% gets 2500 tier credits plus the 5000 bonus which gives you a total of 7500 tier credits. Just to remind you, it is going to be boring and don't expect to win much considering you're betting $1.00 each spin.

I only play slots, hate playing tables especially with people who sit there and talk, talk, talk and the action is on him/her.

thank you for the tip! I actually love wonder 4 slots and have a soft spot for pompeii because that was one of the original games I used to play years ago back when I only bet .25 a spin lol! I will definitely have to try your suggestion. I usually go full on degenerate when I'm in Vegas and will end up gambling for about 12 hours out of the day, so I don't mind sitting on one machine for hours as long as my bankroll lets me :) So if I DO somehow manage to get to 2500 TC in one day, I get an additional 5000???
