I've been practicing my VP skills in preparation for our May trip and have a couple of questions.

    1. Can the drink tickets earned on level 1 be used on 1.5 and 2?

    2. In researching it looks like the tickets used to cover drinks up to $15 so any drink off the menu required 2. I saw someone post a picture of their drink tickets recently and it looked like it said up to $16 which would now cover some of the specialty drinks but not all.

    3. I saw Vital Vegas on Twitter mention that you can trade in several tickets for a bottle of wine. Has anyone tried that with something like Veuve Cliquot?

I haven't heard of anyone using it for Vuevue, but I know many here successfully squirrel away enough tickets to start getting high end whiskey like Blue Label and they'll do that. I suppose if you earned enough tickets for a bottle they'd do it though. Tickets are technically only valid for 2 hours(?) I think. So you'd need a lot for a $180 bottle.

    1. Unfortunately, no – can only be redeemed on level 1. They can also work at the Sports Book, though!

    2. The increase to $16 value would be news to me (was $15 as of 4 weeks ago), but this would be a welcome change. However, you are correct that any drink over the maximum value of the ticket (assume $16 pre-tax for now) would require > 1 ticket.

    3. I haven’t personally tried this (...yet :smilingimp:) but I know a few others that have and didn’t have an issue with it – it just seems that the main catch is that the bottle has to be opened by the bartender once given to the customer. I can’t personally confirm this, though. Also, Chandelier doesn’t stock Veuve any longer under normal circumstances (sadly, it was my favorite); however, their premium champagne is Perrier Jouet which is more than acceptable in my book :)

On that note...I may or may not be in town again in the next few weeks...and will likely be trying to get a bottle of PJ with my stacks on stacks of drink tickets. I’ll try to report back.

EDIT: Oh, and about the 2-hour rule at Chandelier specifically...it seems like it depends a bit on the bartender, but they’ve typically accepted them up to 11:59pm on day of issue for me. From what I’ve read lately on the board, it seems like they may be tightening up on the 2-hour maximum rule. Again, I plan to find out more when I may or may not be back in town soon...haha

    Thanks for the responses @Goldenknight & @GlenCoco!

The $16 value thing came from this tweet -https://twitter.com/john_a_hall/status/1093620529917915136?s=21

It's kinda hard to see but in the lower left corner it looks like it says drinks above $16 require multiple tickets. Kinda bummed you can't use them on other levels but I guess I'll just have to win some money and use that to but the wife the drinks she wants on those levels lol.

Great info, @PartTimeDegen – thanks for that link. That “fine print” has definitely changed quite a bit from my last trip in February. Also, to my knowledge, never previously stated that several tix could be combined (always allowed, just never printed on the ticket). Wonder how much stricter all the bars will be since there’s new fine print on the tix.

The weird part is the date on those tickets is 02/07/2019 which was before your last trip. The mystery continues...

I'm rarely sober enough at either the Chandelier or the Sports Book bar to pay attention to the fine print. Appreciate the information however.

    Good to know.

During NYE and prior you needed 2 tickets for menu drinks. If they changed the ticket value to $16, then all I can say is about time... It was a jerk move to require 2 tickets ($30 value) for a $16 drink and not at least allow the option of paying $1 cash for the difference. In the really old days you could get a $16 drink with 1 $15 coupon. Then they got strict and required two. Maybe they finally eased up a bit.

I’ll be at Cosmo Thursday and I can follow up on these changes.

Yea, I believe it's a different type of liquor permit to sell sealed bottles. At least we were told that at Mirage once

Shockingly, I'll be of little help to the OP as I have no clue about the wine! What is that stuff anyway?? ;)

Overall, the sports book bartenders seem a lot more relaxed about the tickets than Chandelier. Jeff in particular was being a bit of a jerk about tickets last trip. He got on me for giving tickets to my wife! He wasn't joking...he was like I'm not supposed to do this, etc. I also heard him ask someone who brought a ticket up to the bar if they got it at Chandelier and where were they sitting when they were playing. He was checking times on the tickets as well. He must have gotten reamed about policy somewhere along the line. Other bartenders were a bit more laid back, but the suits are clearly leaning on them.

Sports book bartenders only seemed to care that they were issued that day/night.

It's still 2 tix for a specialty cocktail, which is why I save three and go for 18 yr old whisky!

I think the tickets are only good at the bar they were issued, although sometimes they will make the 1.5 or 2 level drinks at level one.

Thanks for the info! Kinda surprised that they were giving you a hard time about giving some tickets to your wife, that seems a bit extreme. I'm not surprised about him asking the guy about where he got them though. I would imagine they'd save a lot of money by not allowing them to be given to random people. However, they'd be better off doing the light system like everyone else if that's the direction they want to go. They would have to figure out something for the specialty drinks then though.

The ticket system is better for us... Let's not suggest methods that make it better for the casino. They already have the edge. Personally I like collecting tickets as I play on and off throughout the day, and it allows me to return to the bar later with a couple tickets for a free menu drink whether I play or not. The ticket system overall is pretty fair I think. Plus the ticket system lends itself to being rolled out across the entire floor of slot machines, at some point down the road.

    Thanks.

Totally agree with that. Though I never personally it never was that big an issue cause I stack the tickets up. But it would be nice to get a specially drink right when I sit down.

I was told that since the sports book closes at night you could bring tickets to Chandelier if you are playing at the book, maybe this changed?

I’m not sure how that works, I was only playing at the book when @bebe forced me to....better shoe and whisky selection at Chandelier!

    I agree on both.

I find the chairs since the remodel at Chandelier are not as comfortable for my shapely ass...

Arrived at the Cosmo yesterday. I bring bad news... :( This is as of March 8, 2019. The following applies to Chandelier. Haven’t been to the sports book bar yet.

    - Drink tickets have a $16 value
    - Menu drinks are now $17, so still requires 2 tickets
    - When playing video poker at Chandelier, now they only comp wells and beers for the first drink
    - The Verbena, Cosmo, and basically any martini is now 2 tickets and cannot be comped as your first drink

    Sucks......
