Has anyone had issues checking into thru VIP lately? I thought that if you were Piaza Gold (previously Platinum), you were eligible to check in there, but heard from someone who just returned that they wouldn’t let her checkin there. Did something change?

So, think this was brought up before… I’m currently writing this while on my trip to the Venetian for the RWB tournament…currently like 1700 points short which irks me, anyway….

People were asking about the Paiza Gold and the “Coming Soon” cryptic message. I went over to the Grazie desk and the lady looked at me like I was crazy when I was literally showing it to her on my phone screen. She kept saying “so what is your question?”

Finally she was like “the rewards listed on the website are what you get, I don’t know anything about the coming soon, we already have rewards… “ >_>

If anyone has any better info, I’d love to be updated since the rewards for Paiza gold is essentially useless since anyone getting there is comped anyway…

... unless one is a local who grinds their way to $10k of theo per year, or maybe just short of that with some on-property spend thrown in. Some locals do play and staycation at places other than Boyd and Stations properties.

I do think that Grazie Rewards will get another shake-up because...
    • the convention market is quickly coming back
    • the bigger domestic players will soon all be back in regular rotation
    • not-tiny players are being enticed over from Caesars
    • international travel is projected to pick up in 2022
    • new ownership of the resort operation should take hold by mid-2022
Unlike the closest competition at Wynn, Venetian did not have the benefit of a test market before rolling out huge changes to the loyalty program. (Wynn had Encore Boston Harbor, where Wynn Rewards became active in December 2019 -- a full year before it arrived in Vegas.)

My host told me that nobody has any information on that except the need to know people. She cannot find out one tidbit about what the coming soon thing is.

Are you referring to the Invited Guest check-in area? ...or is there a different VIP check-in? If the former, my understanding is that Grazie Elite and above can check in there, or anyone with a comp offer from a host - independent of Grazie status. I'm a lowly Grazie Elite member, but I always go to the Invited Guest check-in, even when I was just starting out because of my "host" - who I believe is just a marketing person.

I'm new to Grazie, and I'm only at the Grazie Elite level, but so far I'm not impressed compared to mlife. For roughly the same coin in, I get 4 nights comped at any mlife property with $200 Freeplay and $100-250 Resort Credit and no resort fees. The available days are pretty much unlimited year round, with the exception of some very busy holidays, where I can't get rooms at Bellagio or Aria. FWIW, when I go to the mlife desk, they tell me I'm overcomped, which is lovely to hear, but the offers are still there for me, so whatever... With Grazie, I'm getting 3 nights comped with only $25-50 in Freeplay, and I've noticed lately that the days are VERY restricted - like no weekends and they force me to leave on a Friday. It's really tightened up since things have started to open up and rates have gone up significantly. Grazie Elite has little to no benefit. On my last comp trip, they wouldn't even give me the 2p late check out - the only benefit I really cared about honestly. ...and the Grazie desk and phone support have been super rude to me. Mlife at least pretends to be nice to me at the platinum level, and the offers are much better. Without some changes at Grazie, I'll stick with mlife. We love the venetian rooms, but their slots are tighter than... well, they're tight. Interesting to know that they'll have some new management coming in. I'll keep an eye on my offers next year to see if anything changes.

Venetian/Palazzo comps are def not improving, but the service has been outstanding my last few trips. I am no longer comped at their properties after a big win on small play this last trip. I actually ended up with over $4,000 in theo, with a $20,000 win, but after October I have no comped night offers. While I've enjoyed Venetian/Palazzo, it has run its course for me and I won't be back. It's not you, it's me. :)

You might want to wait until we are at least a week or two into September to pass final judgment. Venetian offers tend to appear about 3-4 months in advance, and often in a bunch toward the end of even-numbered months. The next major offer that should be appearing soon is for Grazie Gifts.

That's great information---full disclosure, I actually do have 3 upcoming Palazzo trips booked, but 12 of the 15 nights are at casino rate, so likely to be replaced with fully comped Cosmo or Aria once I get around to it.

My Grazie Gifts offer just showed up today. Free play is much lower than my usual (and it has been dipping a bit despite having bigger play last trip, in June). Dining credit went up a bit. I expect to see more offers covering December and January show up during September.

Has anyone had problems booking an online reservation with V/P? I’ve been trying for about two weeks for an April 2022 trip and keep getting this message every time I attempt to book. FWIW, thinking that the problem might be because the reservation is a lengthy 8 months away I ran a little test to see if I could book some random dates for October and got the same result.

To my knowledge, Grazie Gifts FP has always been lower to nonexistent. Last year I asked my host if it could get bumped up and she was able to get it approved for my normal amount. Ask your host if it is possible...I am also going to see if it will work this year if we decide to go.

I always call to book V/P. Their online booking isn't so good.

Regarding the Invited Guest check in...

in July I went in there to check in. I am Elite.

Was told it was invite only and to check in regular line. The way she said it was not friendly at all either. I felt embarrassed as there was a few others checking in.

That and my non responsive host has put them on my enemy list. Shame as I love their resort.

Elite? You're not even close, by their standards. I'm Paiza 3x over and they give me the same treatment. And I also get zero personalized host service; have to do everything at the Grazie Desk.

I’m using the last of my comps for my Palazzo stays in October along with some casino rate days and actually resorting to credit card points for February. After that I have no reason to ever go back. And on these coming trips (7 nights, 7 nights, 4 nights) I have zero motivation to play.

I have been very happy with Venetian/Palazzo in every way. The comps just end October 31st. My last stay ended with a couple thousand of back end comps above the room and freeplay so the reduction isn’t due to low play.

I’m not sure but seems like an overall strategic change. Also the bars no longer have Peach Ciroc. Everything else has been fantastic.

I guess if despite playing to a level of receiving decent back end comps I’ve lost front end rooms going forward, I can’t justify playing much. It’s been a nice run at Venetian/Palazzo!

I'm booked just to use my freeplay up $525 and $100 food but not staying or playing when I go in 2 weeks. I have never done this anywhere but I'm over Grazie and their antics so I won't feel guilty I jsut hope they don't try to charge me for the comp room for no play

This is the second time they've done this. They did the same back in 2010, just cut everything off and gutted the paytables and I didn't go much for years, until they improved the paytables and comps. I find one little mind trick really alleviates any worries I have about back end charges, which in practice almost never happen. I just go in mentally OK if they back end charge me or cut off future comps. Even the worst case scenario of being back-end charged is better than a bad trip of losing play. I have low played or no played dozens of comps over the years, and I've NEVER been back end charged, and more often than not I've been surprised by the lack of decrease in future offers. For Grazie, they clearly are going in a new direction with their comp programs, and they will likely have to deal with reduced play from lots of scorned former Grazie devotees.

From my conversation with my host, the new ownership is watching all department's cost very closely. I also noticed the cost cutting as they had no snacks or refreshments in the VIP lounge, they could only provide bottled water and it was not the usual Fiji bottles and they use Covid as the reason. Wynn still offers refreshments and snacks in the RFB lounge, so I find this to be an excuse for V/P to cut cost.

Longtime lurker. My first post as this grabbed my attention.

Regarding the Invited Guest Check In, it states on their own website that Grazie Elite and Piaza Gold tiers get Invited Guest Check-In access. So what am I missing here? Two fanatics on here have been turned away from using this line? Are those front desk agents just new and not properly trained?

I would have taken out my cell phone and shown the front desk agent their own website listing the benefit and politely demand they check me in. It is also listed in the Grazie Brochure, also posted on their website. Maybe have that brochure in hand the next time you check in?

    Benefit.JPG

    https://www.venetianlasvegas.com/grazie-program/benefits.html

I am Elite and have a trip in November. I have not been to Venetian/Palazzo in almost two years, but my status was extended due to Covid. Should I call the front desk now and verify that I can use the Invited Guest Check-In? Recent reviews on Trip Advisor indicate long wait lines and there are even pictures of the huge crowds standing in line, so the Invited line access if VERY IMPORTANT for us.

Regarding their cost cutting, I see they are now down to $69.00 per night, on Hotwire. At this unusually low rate, it seems to me they are desperate for customers to fill empty rooms - not to drive them away. To me, that base rate is shockingly low for a five star resort, even before the resort fee. Pick any random weekdays within the next two months and the rate is this low. I mean those are Mirage and Harrah's rates, which are next door and across the street from them.

On a side note, for anyone that has been there recently, how are the crowds there? Is it a lower class crowd now that their room rates are this low?
