Yup! And even when they post those shit odds, people still play. A Fool and their money and all.

I've given up on Blue Chip. The value is just not there for me. And Boyd wants to comp as if they are the only game in town. I just got back from Four Winds yesterday morning. Did a quick weekend getaway with the wife.

Stayed in my comp suite, I had $425 in Free Play on Saturday and $125 in free play at 7AM (Central time) on Sunday. Played through $9K of coin between Sat night and Sun morning. I netted a $100 loss. Big deal.

There is nothing anywhere near Chicago that can compete with Four Winds for amenities, comps, casino size and slot selection, dining, rooms and just about anything else you could want in a resort.

The only think Blue Chip has that is better, is a Spa (4W doesnt have one) and I like their indoor pool for winter trips. But do prefer the outdoor one at Hard Rock at 4W for summer trips.

Can I ask why? I don't mind Blue Chip, but with Four Winds 15 minutes down the road, why do you like Blue Chip more? Four Winds has a nonsmoking casino annex as well.

I'll only stay at BC if my host at 4W cant get me in for a room that night.

Lou Malnati's! Hand down! Both Malnati's and Giordano's claim to have invented the deep dish pie. But the truth is, Lou invented it while working at Gio's. Get the "Original Lou" it heats up better than the stuffed pizza at Giordano's too. Theirs get all greasy and runny if you do mail order.

Four Winds is nicer, but overall it just comes down to the distance. Blue Chip is an easier drive, and previously they always offered me more in comps. It's been years since I really had any significant at either Blue Chip or Four Winds.

I live 5 minutes from Rivers and I wouldn't play the machines there with your money, easily the tightest I have ever played. The wife and I get our casino fix at Blue Chip/ Four Winds. My wife gambles more money than I do on the slots at those 2 casinos and she gets room offers more frequently at Blue Chip. The casino at Four Winds does have that Vegas feel to it. It's a very comfortable , nice place to gamble and has a great selection of slot machines. The buffet at Four Winds is very good and Timbers has a fantastic sausage and egg sandwich available 24 hours. The drawback at Four Winds are the tight ass slots. Our excursions to Blue Chip/ Four Winds are typically for 2 night stays and I usually get clobbered on the slots so badly there I have to save my money for the Blue Chip where my bankroll usually lasts longer. The Blue Chip's buffet is crap and The Game burger joint is just OK. The meal options at Blue Chip are so dreadful I always leave the resort and drive up to Franklin St. for the very good curry at India House that I carry out to the room or grab a burrito at one of the 3-4 Mexican places there.

It's a little further, but El Bracero is always really good. Their cheese sauce is fantastic.

The deli is better than the buffet and The Game.

Way nicer. If you are at Blue Chip, Four Winds is less than 10 miles down the road. Exit Blue Chip's parking lot and hang a right. One more right on Wilson Rd and you are there!

It would take like 5 minutes, if not for that stupid long ass road that leads into 4W.

My luck is the opposite, i win far more and can play much longer at 4W. All luck of the draw I'm sure. And I 100% agree with the food assessment. Blue Chip needs to up their game. Nelson's Deli is fine, just over priced. The buffet is god awful!

4W buffet is overpriced, and just OK. We eat at Hard Rock, it is actually reasonable as far as price, and we love Timbers. We do the steakhouse every now and then, its nice but not worth the money

I'm convinced that road is essentially a rolling sobriety test.

You don't wanna go FULL STANTON heading to 4 winds. Maybe we stop there in Feb on our way to DTW and the Knights/Scum game.

A quick recap for Rivers. I ended up being able to go twice. The first time Friday for about an hour and a half and then i got called to go back to work. Had a few drinks and hit a handy for 2200. Double top dollar in the high limit. 550 x2 x2 . Of course they take 30% as i am canadian. Left soon after so i didnt have a chance to give it back. I didnt really like the main floor so i wasn't planning on going back saturday but i forgot to cash a ticket for 150 while i was in a hurry to get back to the hotel.

So i had to go back saturday. Of course start leaking cash every where. Hit a few little ones in high limit around the 600 mark. Typically playing 9 line dollar games. I dont usually go much more than 10 a spin. Leaked the 1500 away had on me and reloaded another 1500. Up and down a little and then played wonder 4 in high limit. 22 bucks a spin was the min. 200 in. Nothing 200 more and got it up to 700 on a few small bonuses and finally got the super spins with all 4 screens on buffalo gold. Got it up to 3k in the bonus and got the 15th buffalo head on the second to last spin. So only one more spin with all buffalos. Hit another 1000 so hand pay of about 4100 or so. Shitty i didnt have a few more spins with all the buffalos. I think i had around 30 spins or so.

All in and is was a fun few hours. Had a host come out and offer free lunch because he liked my action haha. I didn't take it, too short on time. I think i had about 5k in points whatever that means there. I would go back but just stay in high limit and it would be short visits at that.

    Thanks for all the help.

They run a little teaser announcement on every handpay and most of them happen in the hl room.
Agree on the main floor especially weekend - too crowded, too trashy, button slappers getting pissed off bc they didn't get a handpay on their 8 cent bet.

The high limit room had jackpots every few minutes it seemed. Some pretty high rollers in there actually. Buddy was playing the 100 dollar machine a bit. I was on the other side of the room but saw him getting paid quite a bit. Obviously wouldn't take much for a handy on that. Biggest i saw was 8k but im sure there were bigger. Main floor didn't quite have the same class as vegas that's for sure.

One thing i thought was weird was a drink in the HL was 3 bucks and it was 6 at the main bar. Doubles were 5 bucks in HL.

I must have missed those slots. Saw tons of 50c+ min bets though.

I only ventured out a bit on the floor because it drove crazy but the games i did stop and play for a second were 2 cent specials. A lot of button smashers on the floor. If you get that stressed you need to smash buttons or screens you may have a problem. I might get upset but not at the machine. Its my fault i went on tilt.

People button smash because they get away with it. Casino looks the other way, even though the techs have to fix it over and over.
It's the reason I stopped going to Rivers.
