Just got quoted for $2750 + gratuity, taxes and fees for a Boulevard pool level Cabana at the Cosmo for a Saturday in May. Requires full deposit. Is this normal? I have never heard of price this high before...

That does seem quite high. The standard 8 person one? Is it in the holiday weekend?

Last cabana I had was only $600

It's for Saturday May 2nd and the standard 8 person one. I also remember the cabana (even on the weekend) being in the high hundreds, maybe a little over $1000 sometimes, but definitely not $2750. I was shocked when they first told me.

Yikes! Is there something else going on that weekend-maybe that’s why prices are so high. I hope you find something that works for you.

Might end up doing a couple day beds.... or maybe cabana at the Chelsea Pool instead.

@Goldenknight @claired67 Any thoughts on the day beds at Boulevard? I vaguely remember them being completely exposed to the sun and we have a couple fair-skinned girls that will burn in the Vegas sun...

Some definitely get more sun than others. I had a non premium daybed at Boulevard (I think in April) that had decent shade with the umbrella. It was the last one on the end, near the cabanas.

The only daybed I've had was the premium poolside. It had an umbrella so wifey was able to stay shaded most of the day when she wanted. She's translucent as well so your friends should be fine. No where near as shaded as a cabana obviously

Maybe because it's Kentucky Derby weekend? (Also a PBR weekend, but I don't think that would make a difference.)

I ended up booking 2 daybeds for $1000+ at the area @claired67 suggested. Confirmed that they each will have an umbrella. I just hope 6 girls can eat and drink thru $1000 because the rest of the girls are all lightweights

Oh, the pricing and reservations was not available when I looked even yesterday morning. Well at least I will now be able to keep an eye on the pricing and hopefully the cabana will get cheaper closer to the date?

The only thing I can figure...some places are doing Cinco de Mayo parties that weekend, so maybe they're expecting a big pool crowd?

It might. Or it will get more expensive and you will feel happy you booked in advance. If you spend all day at the pool, I think you’ll hit the minimum. I’ve been able to take food to go from the pool before-like the fresh fruit. It’s great to have in the room for a snack.

@MrsPTD is anxiously awaiting the release of the June schedule so she can make reservations for our trip the first week of June. So close!

Yes. That's one of the biggest weekends in Vegas. Typically there's a huge fight, it's derby weekend, and there's cinco de mayo celebrations as well. When I say huge fight, I mean it's usually biggest boxing ticket of the year which happens the first Saturday in May.

I've been going that weekend for about eight years, I believe. That Saturday is always super expensive for cabanas. For example, I was quoted $7k for the Terrace Lounge.

Full deposit is normal for them, btw.

I've left with expensive bottles of wine. They don't like when you do that... but you tip enough and they tend to ignore the rules.

Try the froze by the pitcher... I think it's like $70/pitcher and they go down smooth.

Order a few bottles of champagne. That always kills a tab.

Ouch. Any tips on how to enjoy a not-too-crazy trip during that weekend? we will definitely reserve things in advance, but any tips on areas we should avoid?
