It's so weird to me that MGM would buy a premium property that people pay premium prices to stay, dine, and party at and then start making cuts to the alcohol served. I mean, you gotta spend money to make money.

Last time I was there, I ordered a Cosmo on the gaming floor, and they served it in a rocks glass (without ice), and I could tell the formula changed. No more little dried slice of blood orange on top either.

In corporate speak it's called "synergy". MGM has a brand, and that brand is no longer focused on gaming or gaming related comps. It's about entertainment and night clubs and paying for what you get.

IMO they're OK that you gamble, and will even welcome it, they're just not going to give you much anymore for doing it.
