Thanks Kevin, a guy I am friends with that runs a slot floor at my local said the same thing and does the same.

Iiirc the older machines didn't allowed the change in payback where newer ones do.

Saw a G2E video with an Aristocrat rep talking about one of the major selling points of Dragon Link being all those denoms in one machine with specific paybacks for each.

Nice to see we're getting a confirmation on such configs at Cosmo. It also makes me feel better about choosing to hit that 5c/10c option. :)

I had to dig deep in my pile of saved junk for this! Treasure Chest will stay in your account for 18 months on a rolling period. You must earn 1 club point to get 1 TC point so you must play $1.50 coin on a slot ($4.50 on VP) in order to move the TC points forward. If you play $1.49 coin, it wont count.

TI Players Club point inactivity. Inactivity is defined as 12 consecutive months with no TI Players Club points earned. Your base points, that you flip into free play, have a year shelf life. Drop in's do not hurt much there, and most of their offers come with no stay free play, so you can make a run at it!

I have to say that I am quite impressed with Cosmo. I accepted a match offer after playing there one day for a nice little hand pay and a few small wins. I stayed two nights and my total points ended up being 11,200 for the three days play with 28,000 coin in.

Today I received the new Cruise offer which surprised me since I don't have a history with them yet. I am going back for Superbowl weekend for two nights hoping to make Gold....then...going to try for Platinum by the end of this year.

I have been loyal to V/P and they take good care of me but it looks like Cosmo is a great choice too.

The GF got the cruise offer too. Not going to be able to claim since it’s the weekend after super bowl. But being there for super bowl is fun. Did you get a party invite for the super bowl via Cosmo?

I got an invite from Palazzo before it was publicized through my host. Booked it way before the Holidays. Spent my first time at Cosmo Thanksgiving weekend.

First of all Thank You for the information, I have couple of questions, hope you can answer. Do you adjust Video poker beside the basic paytable? My husband insist that some 7/5 bonus poker in one casino might be looser than 8/5 bonus poker in other casino, I always thought it is random, and should only go by paytable. Another question is how often are the machines adjusted? daily, weekly, monthly, annually? Or ajusted for weekend and special event? Thanks, I am thinking of changing from CET to Cosmo since so many members here are saying that Cosmo is more fair.

No casino should be able to "adjust" the hold on VP outside of changing the paytable. The house edge on VP IS the paytable.

If a 7/5 machine feels "looser" than an 8/5 machine that's because you're hitting the RNG at the exact micro-second to pull a premium hand on the former while you're not on the latter. If casinos can adjust something on the back-end then that would fundamentally change the way VP is administered, which would create much more of a firestorm than changing the hold percent on a slot machine.

Also, I think we should caution against saying Cosmo is more "fair". Certainly, based on anecdotal evidence it seems that their house edge is, in many cases, more advantageous to the player, but that's a different claim from basic "fairness". I'm certain the CET games are "fair" in the sense that the player is getting a straight game, albeit with a house edge that's higher than what other casinos are featuring. (this is revealed by looking at CET vs. Cosmo VP paytables for instance)

Slot hold is the white whale for gamblers and possibly the last, great, unlocked secret out there.

Your husband may be affected by confirmation bias. In the long run an 8/5 bp machine is better than a 7/5 bp machine. There’s really no debate. In the short term, if you’re not being dealt quads or the occasional royal youre going to fall behind. But that’s independent of the pay table. It’s just bad luck. You should only go by paytable. A short pay machine is no more likely than another to give you a quads a royal. A poker machine deals from a randomized 52 card deck. So making a given hand has the same probability no matter the pay table.

And what do mean by adjusted? If you mean when are VP tables adjusted? Answer....not very often. The same paytable can remain on a machine for years at a time. As for regular slots, there are a lot of regulations and procedures around adjusting payback. Likelyhood of a machine being adjust for a big weekend, not likely at all. Possible. But not likely.

The responses others have stated are accurate. Other than adjusting the actual paytable, there is nothing we can do to adjust a video poker game. Anything can happen in the short term, that's what luck is. You can hit a royal flush on a 6/5 game and get crushed on a 9/6 game... But over the long term, a slot machine or video poker game is going to win what the game is programmed to win.

Additionally, everyone in Vegas / Nevada is running a "fair" game. A gaming license is worth billions of dollars, no casino operator is going to alter a slot machine to win a few extra dollars and risk losing their business. Now there definitely are casinos that run "looser" floors than others. In which the payback to the customer is more favorable to the player. And there is enough factual evidence out there for people to know which organization(s) run programs as tight as possible, with them saying the customer doesn't care and they'll play the game no matter. I don't personally subscribe to that belief, and I am very confident we are on the more favorable to player side of things. I can assure you that with the quality of our amenities, and the unbelievable value of our loyalty program, should there be a point in time when I don't work at Cosmopolitan, I absolutely will do my gambling here.

As for machines being changed... The holy grail of slot technology 10 years ago was the deployment of "server based gaming", where we'd be able to update games on the fly. That was more of a pipe dream and never really materialized. The most common example of why this was going to be so great for casinos was that on Friday and Saturday we'd be able to remove the penny denomination from our games, forcing our guests to bet more because we're so busy. But the truth is, it never worked and we're never that busy. No one is doing that. Basically, once a machine is set up, that's how it stays.
