My wife and I stay a lot at the Cosmo, we mainly play vp ddb with bonus bets. Last visit we earned around 24k points on a 4 night trip.

Our host wouldn’t give any backend comps, only the 4 night hotel stay in a terrace studio. We are platinum so the transfers and resort fees were waived. Is this normal no backend food comps for that many points? I get it vp has low hold, but that’s a decent amount of coin in.

That's pretty consistent with what I get. I probably play ~25k points over 4 days in nearly all vp. I get offers for 4 nights, sometimes a little freeplay. Nothing backend.

    I probably have them all
Can only compare your points to similar at Bellagio where I frequent. Total strikes me as very small and with nights comp'ed already, you would have a long ways to go for anything on the back end. A question I would pose to the host - - what level of points would you need to accumulate to see comps on the back end after accounting for the comp'ed stay?

Thanks for the replies, just curious as to what others experience.

If I compared your offers to my offers, it's the VP issue. Had a trip with about the same coin-in, but from primarily slot play, and my host actually called me toward the end of the trip to offer us $100 more towards food. I mean, it could be just because she's awesome, which she is (like to say this often just in case she stops in here lol, love her!), but I doubt it.

I get it, little hold on VP. We enjoy the rooms and everything else the Cosmo offers and always feel they treat us well for our spend. We’re not the type that will play for comps or chases loses, the maths the math and eventually evens out.

It's even worse with Cosmo than most places. They will exactly calculate the theo of the paytable you're playing and not give an error cushion. So if you were playing say 9/5 DDB with STP for example, the system knows that's a 1.86% optimal hold, so they will calculate 24k points of theo to be...

    24,000pts x $6/pt x 0.0186 = $2678.40

35% of theo would be rough comp value = $937.44. $240 of that is earned as identity play, so $697.44 would be left, which roughly is about the right amount to cover the room for 4 nights.

Cosmo is more generous with slot players for sure. But of course slot theo is closer to 10% vs. 2%.

MLife and CET might give out more comps for VP, but they typically have poorer paytables also. I would rather play a better paytable with less comps generally.
