In a few places that have installed the roll to win Craps tables are putting mins around $10 it seems. These are the hybrid tables where bets are made on a screen but the shooter throws real dice.

I’ve read that you need about $10000000 coin in for 1 tier credit.

I have a non-board member friend in Vegas right now. He texted me this morning that he played $5 craps at Ellis Island for a few hours last night (Wednesday).

I can confirm; weekdays Ellis is $5 craps with 10x odds (unbeatable value at the moment)
During the weekdays they ALSO have $5 3:2 blackjack (6-deck shoe)

Has anyone played the roll to win craps game? I know it’s not the same but what are your thoughts if you played it.

I played it once. It was kind of boring for me. The game had kind a slow flow. You still had wait for the for the betting to time out before the stickman would move the dice. So if the point was established and everyone made their bets you just stood there and waited. At a regular table the stickman moves the dice much faster. The plus side was the minimums were much lower as compared to a regular table. Depending on where you play I don't think you earn comps or points on it.

It’s fine. It was a knot here below the real tables in terms of minimum. The surface is like a iPhone screen. It’s very durable plastic/glass. Doesn’t bounce the same as felt. But not that off.

We played it with some nubs at Harrahs LV; because it was the cheapest on the strip for $20..it was PAAAAINFULLY SLOOW!
I like craps because of the fast action; if I wanted to watch paint dry I could play video poker

I heard from the bored Cosmo pitboss when the RTW table was $10 min that it only took $100.
    (played for one tier point)
    (excluding odds)

I read somewhere that …”Most casino markets are
eliminating tier and reward credits for any type of stadium games; virtual craps, bubble craps and video roulette”. Don’t know if this is true, but if what you heard is $100 = 1 Tier Credit, then it stands to reason.

Apparently it’s easy to “game” the system. I guess you could only do this with even money bets with Pass and Don’t Pass or Come and Don’t Come bets, and risk the 12 being thrown as the loser. $100 pass and another person plays $100 don’t pass, to spruce up your TC and reward points.

But heaven’s forbid any of us playing for comps….

I also have seen (on youtube) seats being placed at those machines however. So that’s nice….

I find it refreshingly straightforward when places like the Cal don't even accept cards, or they have the little sign up, so you know you're not earning any and just play for the wins.

Okay, started my great craps hunt. Guess things are settling down because I see more $10 tables downtown. The Cal had $10 tables all day and night Wednesday and Thursday but at night if it was busy they opened up another table but with $15 minimum. Fremont also had $10 tables as do Binions and 4 queens. Thursday night the D had $15 minimum tables but not many people playing, maybe 2 or 3 people. I didn't even bother going into the Circa as they scan your ID and I figure the tables are $15 minimum - Per Derek.

Visited Resorts World, they had all $15 and $25 minimum tables. Just did a look see at the place, was nice but I figure it to be too expensive for my tastes. Plus I hated walking all the way from the self parking lot to the hotel/casino. Geez, they couldn't have built a parking lot near the hotel? The only one closer is only for hotel guests.

Palazzo and Venetian both had $15 minimum tables.

Bingo! Found a $5 craps table at Jerry's Nugget. 2 tables actually. Was pretty mellow. I checked with the restaurant and will probably try their prime rib special one night.

Let's hope that downtown keeps their $10 tables even during the weekends. Will report back if things go up on the weekend.

Southpoint on Saturday afternoon had a $5 table in addition to 3 $10 tables. Felt good to make $5 bets again. Silverton table was $10.

On Friday night most places had $15 tables. Even DTG, Cal, Fremont, El Cortez (El Cortez?), Binions, 4 queens, Oyo, Ellis Island (huh?). Silver Sevens crap table was closed. I was driving on the strip in the early evening and ended back downtown later in the night.

Weird. on Saturday morning (9 am) the Cal only had a $15 minimum crap table. But in the afternoon (3 pm) they lowered their table to $10. Not sure why they would keep their table at $15 when hardly anyone would be up at 9 am. They raised their table back to $15 in the early evening.

I will probably check out the boulder highway casinos on Sunday or Monday.

Boulder Highway all $10 and higher tables.

    General end of trip comments:

Seems that most casinos have $10 and higher minimum tables at night. Even Ellis Island, Cannery and Southpoint.

The only place that offered $5 at most times was Jerry's Nugget.

I was lucky this trip, I played at Jerry's Nugget 3x and all 3 times I won money. One time the shooter rolled for over an hour. That doesn't say much as many players were taking time putting down hop and other bets so it took longer for the dealers to take care of those players. Still, it was great for me, I put down $100 and it lasted a long time. Not like the $10 tables downtown, seemed that $200 didn't last very long. Made up for a lot of my $10 table losses playing at Jerry's.

Since most places won't be playing $5 minimum tables I will probably be playing at Jerry's more often when I go to vegas. I didn't spend a lot of money gambling this time, did more time looking for casinos that had $5 minimum tables.

Will be writing a short TR on my escapades in vegas.

Too bad Cromwell no longer offers 100X odds. I played there a couple of times with $20 pass line and $1000 odds behind; didn’t have the bankroll for the full odds. Did it twice and won once and lost the other.

That's interesting. The logic makes sense. But you'd also think that it'd be something pretty easy to program for preventing.
