Diamond Aspiration 2 Airfare

Anyone used their DAL2 or seven stars airfare since this change? Just wondering what kind of "receipt" you need to show, just the one the airline emails you? If it's that easy, I love this new policy. Free play is as good as cash to me (maybe even better since you get any credit card points too) and booking airfare through the travel service last year was such a pain.

 

I too am wondering if anyone has tried this yet. I will be trying in October but would like to know if there are any gotchas... and I have had no response from my host.

 

Another member told me that he was unable to get FP for his airfare since his trip was not booked under the code for his DA2 trip. I don't think it was made entirely clear from the email. It should be a fairly easy process to book the trip as DA2 or 7* and then present your receipt for FP.

 

Yup...I went to the TR desk at PH last weekend to see if I could get my airfare reimbursed...no dice. While my host booked my stay, I did not tell him ahead of time, I wanted my airfare reimbursed. He was not in town during my stay, so I didn't get to talk to him about it while I was there. The TR attendant told me that in order to get reimbursed, I needed to book a trip with the reimbursement offer code. I'm not sure if the reimbursement code is stackable with other offers, but I don't see why it shouldn't. I may try it for my GgWU trip. I still have all my DA2 and 7* benefits to use up.

 

Thanks for the advice. I am going to try to stack my freeplay offer and DA2 offer for Oct. Will let you know what I hear.

 

Yes, you can stack an offer on top of the DA2 or 7* trip.
You can also stack a GGWU booster event offer with another offer.... BUT you have to book 4 nights (2 for each offer).

As @newmans said, she was right on. Never doubt her.

They have to book the DAL2 as the primary and can stack one more on top. So I should get my airfare as freeplay and my regular freeplay. It will be a good BR start for the week.

Just a quick update. I was able to booked this as advertised. Got both my airfare as freeplay and my normal freeplay. I did it at Rio and it was a complete cluster F but got it done buy took them a couple hours and more calls to my host at PH than it should have. Definitely easier to book the DAL2 trip at the hotel where your host is.

I forgot my print out of the receipt but a forwarded email of it was enough for them.

 

I'm on my DAL2 getaway right now... it wasn't hours, but did take a few trips to the back before the TR desk was able to figure out my airfare reimbursement. At first they said "you already redeemed this right?" Uh, no. To which they responded "you've also already used your Seven Stars getaway for this year as well, right?" Uh, not sure what that has to do with this, but also no. They did eventually give me the airfare reimbursement though. I was also able to book back to back with a regular offer, but I think you need to book at least 4 nights and can't claim the regular offer free play until the 3rd night.

 

AFAIK, the trip needs to be booked with a host so the correct offer code can be applied. I booked both my 2017 DAL2 and 7* trips through my respective hosts and everything should be covered. I'm just waiting for the January offers to come out to see what I can "stack".
