Hello, are they any tips that you all may follow when playing either the Dragon Link/Lightning Link slot machines? Betting a certain denom? Going up and down denoms? See what the last payout was? Thank you, have a good one.

My tip would be to just play the games you like and hope for the best. Slot machine "strategies" are, at least in Vegas, by and large nonsense. They've also started putting the "Link" brands on various other themed machines. Just go out there and have fun!

i ran $200 thru one at Aria in May playing $5/spin. the major was almost $1,000 so i kept playing. it was late, i was tired, and i only had $3 left, so i lowered bet to $2.50 for one last spin. hit 7 coins including the Major and ended up just over $1160. crazy

Bet what you can afford. There is no strategy, it’s random chance. It does not matter what the last payout was. If you’re not having fun, cash out and move to a new machine. The microsecond you hit the spin button determines your win. Not if a jackpot was just awarded.

Played D link religiously for a period of time, most of my memorable hits/bonus were from " middle bet button ".

Almost all my max bets button bonus were depressing.

Although I don't keep the data but i probably max bet 70% and splits the 30% mid bet and min bet . It's just my betting habit.

This is not a gambling strategy advice lol. Just my experience with the game

I'm almost exclusive playing dollar denom for a simple reason. The orbs show the actual dollar amount lol. I do switch denom from time to time but rarely.

Some machines only supports 10 lines when you bump to dollar vs 25 lines when betting quarter denom and below but I could care less. Gotta go for the balls !!

I'm with 44 - slots in Vegas are entertainment, so play what you like, regardless of whether it is a themed game or not. The denomination has very little to do with hit frequency on the link games except I believe that there are more pay lines on the lower denoms.

    Too many fence-sitters :)

Play nickels, the 75 nickel bet ($3.75). That's the best strategy. :8ball:

No strategy will overcome a 15%ish house edge. I enjoy playing low denom 1 cent 50 to 2.50 coin and and the occasional 5/10 cent 25 coin denom. I love catching a major on a low bet which I have done on three occasions. Some folks prefer larger bets. To each their own.

I always go for the highest denomination I’m comfortable playing at the time, and then bet min or x2 at that level.

I don’t mind a $100 mini on dimes but betting $2.50 or $5 on 1 cent will get you lots of $10 minis, so to me it makes sense to change up the denom

Like others said when you move up it’s less lines so the balls are really where the money is at, but that’s why I play these anyway.

My personal rule with them is I only give them about 25 spins. Many times I’ll hit a bonus or something decent by then (sometimes more than one) but if I don’t I move on to another machine. The times I have stayed on them longer I have ended up feeding them a lot of money and still won’t hit a bonus after hundreds of spins.
If they are hot they are hot but if not i have learned don’t chase a bonus or a major.

I’ve played Lightning Link games for years and have a different view on these games. While the higher denominations have great Minor and mini payouts, the smaller denoms pay better overall on bonuses. For example if I’m playing $1 denom at $25 a spin the typical bonus is under $1000. However playing $.10 denom at $50 a spin, the payouts are much better. Evidence below….[IMG]

While I can see that one can definitely have a great trip max betting dimes, I just can't see myself being comfortable doing it. Congrats to those who can and do have fun at that level.

This is an excellent point. Denominations or number of lines can change the game mechanics, including the availability of certain bonuses, plus it's generally accepted that across the casino floor, higher denominations have lower house edges. But it doesn't change the RNG.
Ha, on my first trip to Vegas, decades ago when I was a broke college student, there were still true "penny" slots, at least at Luxor. I had just lost about $200, which was a huge amount for me at the time, but my friends were doing better and still playing. So I sat there, hitting the button for $0.01 at a time, and collecting free beverages.

Did that on my first trip to vegas. Broke the bank and then we started breaking our 20s down to ones. They had the same machines we played for quarters at home on pennies so were playing 9c a spin and having the time of our lives with free drinks.. though the dollar tips hurt more when that was like giving them $100 haha.

So lower denoms and higher bets seem to work better?? I hate those games for the most part, but going to try. I think so far the only ones I like are huffnpuff and hold on to your hat. The others I hate play.

I personally usually play nickels because the mini and minor are 5 times higher than pennies. I also have an affinity for .05 because that's what I was betting when I won the Grand on Magic Pearl.
