    I heard within 30 days.

I read the judgment, and from that, I say, "Good riddance." A total rip-off of Aristocrat's Dragon Link math model.

Aren't all slot machines at their core more or less the same thing? lol All these manufactures are doing is using different graphics.

Yeah I guess it's more detailed than that but I agree - basically every machine now that comes out is either a link game or an accumulating bag/pig/pots game, all with very similar bonuses just different graphics.

And to think, if they just would have named it "Snake Train".........

I kid, of course. But as the poster said above, all new slots that are coming out now are just different variations on the same, similar themes. The real commonality is that they every new release seems even more volatile than the last, with line hits getting devalued and the only way to win back your lost money is to hit the bonus(es).

To an extent absolutely, but if you read the judgment, it was total rip-off. The person that lead the math team for L&W "Dragon Train" used to work at Aristocrat and also worked on the math for their "Dragon Link" games.

Even a spreadsheet used for both games had the SAME FORMATTING ERRORS.

"Lastly, L&W asserts that any “arbitrary and idiosyncratic” similarities between the spreadsheets are simply due to Ms. Charles’ personal spreadsheet preferences. (Sur-Reply 10:23–12:8). L&W contends that because Ms. Charles was involved with the development of both games, it is unsurprising for the spreadsheets of both games to contain similarities in formatting, weight sums, and reel lengths. (Id.). But that justification does not quite explain the formatting mistakes that appear to be copied between spreadsheets. For example, not only are the colors, tabs, and layouts almost identical, but they contain similar formatting errors such as a border around the same blank row, gray highlighting in the same empty cells, and the same missing border on an identical cell. (Comparison, Ex. O to App. II to Mot. Prelim. Inj.). These mistakes have seemingly been copied into the L&W spreadsheet from an Aristocrat spreadsheet, which lends support to Aristocrat’s position that Ms. Charles brought confidential spreadsheets to L&W. The likelihood that Ms. Charles brought a blank template with her to L&W seems belied by the mathematical similarities described above. The Court therefore finds it logical and reasonable to conclude Aristocrat is extremely likely to succeed in demonstrating L&W misappropriated Aristocrat’s trade secrets in its development of Dragon Train."

I miss the days of the lower volatility slots and being able to camp out a machine for a few hours and get line pays that pay more than your best when you got 5 of a kind or a 4 of a kind giving your bet back. Worst yet getting a full screen of a symbol and not getting your bet back unless it is the top symbol. 40 % of the slot floor is "ball bonus" a la Link games, 40% is variations on the bag games. The last 20% is for all of the variations of Buffalo and Huff N Puff.

I actually liked the Dragon Train game, at the casinos near me that had the slot it was always impossible to get on but I found that I didn't do horrible on them. I even got a Major more than once not even playing a high amount. The train sub-bonus also paid well and it was nice to have a separate jackpot just for getting the full train engine on top of what you already get in the ball bonus.

I wonder if there was a Dragon Train like game at Aristocrat that had the "engine" ball bonus in the bonus mechanism because I thought that was a new twist. There are countless other link type clones, I am sure they just went after L&W because they knew an ex-employee went to work there.
