Talk to me about Marquee - Drenched After Dark! I'm staying at Cosmo July 10th & figure my party of 10ish can primp & pregame in my suite before heading down to Marquee. Curious about dress code, since it's a pool party - I know the girls can do clubby cover-ups, but can men get in with a button-down & swim bottoms, or do you just have to wear pants and find somewhere to stash 'em?

Also, what's the propriety line for Boulevard Pool by day? Are thongs okay? Super cheeky bottoms? Please help me & my totally extra friends get our shit together! [IMG]

You can wear club attire or pool attire to Drenched After Dark.

Thongs are fine for women at Boulevard.

I’m genderqueer & I tend to play by the most conservative standards to avoid hassle but I’m gonna be celebrating with my crew so if I’m called to order from the Barbie Boi collection, I’ll report back on where the line is or isn’t drawn!

Marquee is pretty vague on their website. I don't see why "Drenched After Dark" would be any more restrictive than the dayclub.

Cosmo doesn't really state any particular dress code for Boulevard online. Just that uncovered swimsuits are only allowed within the pool area, which is every hotel.

I would think standard thongs would be accepted regardless of gender. I never really paid close attention, but I'd think some guys have probably worn Speedo-like thongs there.

If women can wear it, then why can't everyone?

From my experience at Vegas pools.....pretty much anything short of public nudity is allowed at the pool in terms of swimwear. Usually it's the cover ups that get people in hot water. (No pun intended)

Judging from my Instagram feed, those are allowed.
There's actually caselaw in New York saying essentially that the law against toplessness for women was discriminatory because it didn't apply to men (I say "essentially" because I can't remember the formal legal outcome).

The thing to remember is that there's a fair amount of discretion involved by the door staff. Which is a whole other problematic rant for another day, because it leads to unfair (if not outright discriminatory) behavior, but there's very little you can do in the moment; it's not a "here is the policy from your website, let me talk to your manager" situation. As gross as I feel recommending social media as a solution for anything, I'd spend some time poking around Instagram and seeing what the crowds are generally getting away with. But there's never a guarantee -- back in NYC a friend of mine once got turned away due to the bouncer not liking his shoes.

Rightfully so!
I am not a fun of people not having proper shoes. Flip flops belong to beaches , not fancy establishments.

Ha, these fit the dress code (they were closed-toed lace-up dress shoes without logos or anything), the bouncer just said "no" for whatever reason. Didn't explain it, and literally said, "It's up to me." We didn't want to leave him there so we went somewhere else. But point being, you never know!

Yeah, duly noted on the selective enforcement issues. To be real, I've avoided staying at Cosmo for a while because the first thing I ever heard about it was that they banned a trans woman from the property for using the women's restroom (this was in 2011, they later apologized), so despite the array of restaurants and specialty cocktails that have drawn me in over time, I can't quite shake that knowledge, and am not trying to ruin my own birthday trip or lead any of my friends into hot water. At the same time - people go to Vegas to cut loose & dress sexy, and we wanna do the same! So I'm just trying to glean some clarity from people who've been, since the website leaves me with some questions.

Thanks so much to everyone who's weighing in, by the way! Really appreciate y'all!

I love Boulevard Pool. I’ve seen lots of thongs and cheeks and it’s never seemed like a problem. All ages, all sizes. You didn’t ask, but for info purposes the thing I don’t see there is under boob.

Like NickPappageorgio said, the cover ups are the problem. There was a tik tok with a lady and a mesh coverup that walked thru the casino and she was asked to leave (she was at the day club). But I kinda think if you’re in Boulevard tower and only going straight to the pool, it’s fine or if you’re crossing on level 2 or 3 to get to the Chelsea tower if it’s a skimpy coverup. And I’ve walked thru the casino and drank at Vesper in a half lacy/half solid cover up and no issues.

I’m sure it’s all fine. No one should have a problematic anxiety kind of birthday in Vegas. Only fun.

Not to get too far off topic, but in Ontario we have this...

https://www.guelphtoday.com/local-n...egan-30-years-ago-this-week-in-guelph-3960404

When the law first changed it included public beaches, and living on the west coast of Lake Huron, which has lots of public beaches, I vividly remember lots of "topless" sightings from the gender that was previously not allowed to do so. These days, it's exceedingly rare.

Just to provide an update, in case others come here with the same questions, I’ve spoken with Marquee staff and have been informed that Drenched After Dark is a “relaxed casual” dress code and allows crop tops, nice trainers, and “fashionable sandals” for men. Sure hope they’re ready for my Jeffrey Campbells!

I wear a very cheeky bikini to Boulevard and it seems like full coverage because there are lots of thongs there. @mike841 can probably provide some Marquee insight from his recent trip.

I mean, I saw that at Crystals today. The weekend before this one I was at EBC, and there was very little in the way of coverage.
