So after 15 years of going to Vegas, I still ask myself, when I arrive in Vegas how long until I sleep? Do I drink on the flight? What time do I try to get some shut eye (dont want to miss out on those magical first few hours in Vegas!)....

I live in Ireland so +8hrs from Vegas. My flight usually arrives at 2pm Vegas time and I tend to get tired (lets say physically anyway) around 10/11pm and need my bed. I then wake at anytime from midnight-3am after a couple hrs sleep and Im too excited to stay in bed any longer... I actually enjoy that first morning session being alone in the casino and jet lagged....feeling like a zombie haha.

Each night thereafter I nudge bedtime an hour or two ahead, until around day 5 of my trip and I am adjusted, but still only managing 5-6hrs sleep max.

What is your routine and do you have any tips on getting the most from your trip?

This post comes after I just booked my shortest trip ever (4nts) for Jan. Am I completely crazy?!

Had exactly that experience many times. We found that pushing that wee bit further to 12/1 on the first night makes all the difference. That seen us through to around 6:30/7 and we prefer that early morning gambling session so worked out fine. Getting to 11pm the second day is the trick to kicking the jetlag for the remainder.

Not a chance I'd come for anything less than 10 days from over the pond. Hope you have a grand trip.

10 days is usually my minimum too. Im going to stick close to the Dublin time zone for the 4nt trip I think. Thanks for your insights!

I agree with you Simpatt, after a long flight from Gatwick 10 even 11 hours once, you are tired. But excitment takes over and I am usually unpacked and raring to go about 3/4 pm Vegas time being 11 /midnight in UK. Try to stay up till about 9/ 10 pm Vegas time then sleep only for a few hours. Best morning then waking at 3 am and going walks or watching the remnants from the night before still gambling or the wrecks coming out of the night club. Love it. Yes as the week goes on get later each day but always up and ready by 6am. My next trip is November and already getting excited .
