I can’t see to find the email explaining the extensions due toCovid. But are they removing express comps doe to inactivity? It seems I have lost 700 since I had received a email from Springfield Nov 6 to today on the Mlife site. I hate to have to run there in all of this. Thanks

I don't think they ever mentioned anything about extending express comp. According to the website that is shown if it's inactive for 12 months then it's gone.

I'm in the same shoes as you. Last visit was December of 2019 and I have close to 1k in express comp :(

You could try this (assuming you have MLife offers):
    • Go to the Excal website when you're not logged in and find a cheap night between now and mid-December
    • Log in and book one night on a comp offer
    • While you're still logged in, go and book a separate room there for the same night - they'll charge you something for it, question is whether they'll charge a deposit.
    • If they don't charge a deposit, don't complete the reservation on the 2nd room, and cancel the comp reservation.
    • If they DO charge a deposit, finish booking the 2nd room, wait a day or so for the deposit to hit your credit card, then cancel the comped reservation.
    • What will happen is, when your paid night rolls around, overnight they will open a folio, post the room rate to it, apply the deposit against it, and then close it. And you'll get 25 TCs per $1 of the charge, which should extend your ECs.
ETA: I just tested this, booking an overlapping night on top of an existing comp reservation, and it worked - they would have charged me a deposit (which they don't add the resort fee into) for the 2nd room. Looks like you should be able to book a 2nd room at Excal for night of Dec 1 for around a $26 deposit.

Note: this doesn't work for "no-show" fees they charge for a comp room if you don't show up. It only works for forfeited deposits. I had a trip in 2019 where I had both situations at different MGM properties. I got TCs for the forfeited deposit but not the no-show fee.

One other note: I can't be 100% sure that forfeiting a deposit won't affect your offers.

It's a paid room night under your account, and obviously you're not there so you're not gambling. But I went back and looked in my records to see which trip I did that, and I don't recall seeing any change in my offers following it. I didn't stay at any MGM property on that trip, so it wasn't a matter of making up the play elsewhere. I think your offers probably just won't get dinged for it.
