F&B Credit - Staying One Hotel Eating at Another

    Hi Guys,

    Just a super simple question, I should know this but I've either forgotten or never truly found out. I've booked a comp offer at NYNY which includes F&B, we're planning on eating at Carbone. Can I charge the Carbone meal to my NYNY room to utilise the F&B credit? There isn't anywhere I fancy eating at NYNY so otherwise it will go to waste.

    Appreciate the insight!

    The only nice restaurant at NYNY is Gallagher’s Steakhouse, in case you have enough RC to eat there as well.

    We’ve also been able to use the credits at various MLife properties.

    As long as there's nothing in your offer saying it can only be used on-property, then absolutely. I've heard of, but never actually seen, offers that say they can only be used at the property where you're staying, so I'd double check, but you should be fine.

    I'd ask at check in. I think it can still vary by offer. I always use my resort credit at the same property, but the last time I stayed at MGM Grand, the RC specifically could only be used there. This was a couple of years ago when they clearly still had property-specific offers distinct from corporate ones, and I was on an MGM Grand-specific one.

    There's no question you can do the charge itself across properties, it's just a question of whether the offer RCs will cover it.

    I’d advise:
    1) Ask at check in. But beware that what they tell you and what actually happens may be different.
    2) Check your charges on the tv to make sure the credit is being fullly applied, and call if it’s not. I’ve had issues where it wasn’t always applied and had to call to get it fixed. This is a bit of a pain to track, as the credit isn’t directly visible, the charges (tips not included) just disappear from your folio.
