Gold/Platinum complimentary room nights

    One of the benefits of Gold/Platinum is 'two complimentary room nights per year' and 'two companion room nights per year'. This has been a great benefit when visiting Vegas with several friends.

    For each of the past two years I've stayed for 4 comped nights under an offer and got a second room for 2 of those nights with my companion room nights. I was also able at the same time to get a third room for those same 2 nights using the two complementary nights. (This was actually suggested to me by the telephone representative when I went to reserve a paid room as the third room.)

    This worked fine for the past two years (when I was gold). But I tried to do it again this year (as Platinum) and was told I can't, as the complimentary rooms can't be used at the same time as an offer.

    Does anyone know if this is a new policy? Given that I've done it twice before, talking to several agents each time as we changed dates or just reconfirmed; it seems unlikely all those agents were making a mistake by allowing it.

    What is the expected use of the 'complimentary' nights if they can't overlap with an offer? I typically get a 4 night offer starting as soon as the prior one expires (and presumably most people who are Platinum get that or better). Do people only use it if they want a longer stay than their offer is for?

    It might be a new rule, but it might instead be the agent you talked to.

    I once called to book my free Sterling night, only to be told they were sold out of "comp" rooms for that date. I waited an hour, called back, and got a different agent on that call... who booked my comp stay with no problem.

    That isn't the same as your issue, just an anecdote to suggest that you may get a different answer when you talk to a different person.

    I’m booked for September and used one of my complimentary nights to extend my stay. Hope I don’t get surprised when I check out.

    End of May, we used an offer, our Gold benefits and a comped night with no problem. I agree that you should call again. Do you have a host?

    I was going to say 'No', but a better answer might be 'I don't know'.
    I did meet and exchange some emails with a host maybe 2 years ago, but I haven't been in contact recently.
    I don't know if she was officially my host or if she still even works there.

    Maybe send Kevin @Cosmo_Slot_Vice_President a PM and ask if he help you get in touch with someone that is either your long lost host or a new one. I have to believe that all people who make Platinum are assigned to somebody. I have been in touch with my host for years and I'm still only Gold for this year.

    I agree with momnkid, contact a host. They have a list on their website. I was assigned a host and I am only Gold. He has been great, getting me comped rooms when I was told my offer was not good for March Madness, booking my gold nights on top of my 4 night comp, booking my dad on my companion nights and then comping his other two nights....such a great experience to book through him.
