I'm back to Sterling so all's right with the world once again....sort of! Now I'm just waiting for science to save us with a vaccine or successful treatment. The odds of my plan to visit Vegas in August are starting to look very long. :-(

I needed 18,000 by 9/26 and mine is now saying I need 50,000 too. I did get my companion nights and resort credit back though.

I see that my companion nights are back (as 2 separate 1 night secrets are for sharing offers). I only see one gold night offer though called work the room. Looks like it is a single night to me - do the rest of you golds have 2 work the room offers for a single night each?

Technically I still have my rooms booked for the end of this month (using the gold/companion nights) but doubt that should make a difference. I did email my host to cancel the reservation awhile ago but I'm guessing that she is furloughed like most everyone else. Trying to save having to actually make a phone call - so I've been just holding out until Cosmo cancels them anyway.

Pretty depressed about missing my first time in a wraparound for our big anniversary trip. Had this trip booked since last September with all the guests that came to our original wedding :(

Cosmo's system is a little different since everyone's date is different instead of the others where tiers are always September 1st or whatever the case may be.

Now they've basically made everyone's initial date as May 1st, so you've got a year to earn/maintain your level from that date instead of getting those final 18k before September this year.

I'm sure it ends up being beneficial for some, less beneficial for others. I needed like 48k by September to maintain platinum so there's now way that was happening for me lol

Lots less beneficial then for me. What if I can only fit in one trip due to a more delayed opening than I am anticipating? There's no way I can do 50K in one trip. Not trying to whine because I am one of the people who asked for a more standardized anniversary date but making these changes right now when we don't know when we'll get back just bums me out. Ok, I am whining. Sorry.

Maybe I misread the email that Cosmo sent out a few weeks ago, but I didn't get the impression that they're necessarily doing away with any existing anniversary dates. Yes, they were apparently going to reload everyone's tier benefits as of 5/1 (I'm also among those who haven't seen my comp / companion nights renew yet), but that's regardless of your individual anniversary date, which I believe will remain unchanged.

In the case of @momnkid, it sounds like your Platinum anniversary date is 9/26 and that you would have needed to earn 18,000 tier points before 9/26/20 to renew your status through 9/26/21. By virtue of renewing tier benefits across the board on 5/1, Cosmo has already waived that earning requirement and fronted you the tier benefits that would have otherwise refreshed on 9/26 had you earned 18,000 tier points. By my understanding, you should then have from 9/26/20 - 9/26/21 to earn an additional 50,000 tier points to lock in Platinum for 9/26/21 - 9/26/22. I could be way off, but at least that's the way I understand it.

It will be interesting to see is what, if anything, is done for Identity members with anniversary dates that will have occurred during Cosmo's closure, however long that may be. If, for example, someone has an anniversary date of 4/1, then in theory they would have from whenever Cosmo reopens until 4/1/2021 to earn enough points to maintain their current tier. The longer the closure goes on, the less time they have to maintain their tier, so I'm wondering if any concessions will be made for Identity members who fall into this category.

This is what my Identity account looks like now. Previously I needed 4x,xxx points by September 17th 2020 to remain platinum. Now it's 50knpoints by May 1st 2021, resetting my anniversary. I think they moved every Identity account to May 1st

It's hard to tell exactly what how they're implementing this.

This is what my banner says:
    upload_2020-5-9_8-57-22.png

I normally go in January and July and get ~10,000+ TCs each time My anniversary date is at the end of July.

I went in January and got ~10,000 TCs. I don't think I really need to earn 20,000 points between now and May 1, 2020 to stay Gold, I think I only need 10,000. The way the banner is worded doesn't specifically exclude TCs you've earned since your last anniversary date (ie. my January TCs can/should count towards the 20,000).

I had a reservation for July but I pushed it back to August, so even if things worked the normal way, I'd drop to Sterling at the end of July (which would have no practical effect since they're already extending benefits), re-attain Gold in August and my anniversary date would reset to August

I'm having a hard time figuring out how they're programming this.

Let's say instead of August, I didn't go again until February of next year. My January 2020 TCs will have rolled off.

Seems like if you are actually extending the player year on a one-time basis, you have to suspend the 365-day lookback (except for advancing). So essentially it seems like maybe,
    • For maintaining tier, my current player year becomes July 31 2019 - May 1, 2021.
    • For advancing tier, it's still 365 days (or maybe you're getting the extension for advancing too)
    • But seems like this would result in people having wildly varying lengths for their "current" year, based on their original anniversary date
Gives me a headache, lol. I trust they'll do it right, but it's hard to figure out.

For those a little confused. What Cosmo is doing is this. To maintain your current tier you have until May 1 2021 to earn that many points where you’ll be extended another year. Advancement to a higher tier will still be based on the past 365 day moving window. For me I need 4000 to maintain sterling. But need 17,000 to advance to Gold. But in September I will have some points fall off and then will need to earn 18000 or so to get to gold. Assuming I don’t visit Between now and then.

Good observations, @Chuck. I checked my Identity status a little while ago, and this is what I'm seeing...

    Screen Shot 2020-05-09 at 3.57.44 PM.png

Like you, my 2020 anniversary date hasn't hit yet (mine is in early June), however during my last two trips in October 2019 and January 2020 I earned enough points to lock in my Gold status for the June 2020 - June 2021 period. So, I had already renewed my tier status for a year prior to the shutdown in March, whereas it sounds like you still needed around 10,000 points to lock in your status prior to the end of July. I'm guessing that this may explain the difference in our statuses listed online. Those who had already earned enough points to renew their status prior to the shutdown may be seeing a message similar to what's showing up in my account, while those who still had points to earn before renewing might now be seeing the "Earn xx,000 points by 05/01/21" message.

Based on what @bayoubengal mentioned, and the screen captures that @Goldenknight and @Chuck posted, it certainly looks like those who had not locked in their tier renewal prior to the closure have all been rolled over to the new xx,000 points by 05/01/21 requirement. And, to make it fair for everyone, especially those who were perhaps very close to renewing their tier but were unable to do so on account of the closure, Cosmo is renewing everyone's tier rewards and benefits across the board.

At this point, dates are probably still tentative, especially since Cosmo hasn't reopened yet and the reopening date is likely still very much in flux. It's definitely fun to speculate and discuss, but until Cosmo actually reopens and the dust settles, I think we're essentially chasing our tails trying to predict exactly how this is going to work in the end.

I checked my identity account and all tier benefits including the two companion nights, 2 comp nights and 250.00 free resort credit show they are good through May 2021

When Cosmo announced that they would be reloading everyone's tier benefits on May 1st, I was under the impression that the reloaded comp and companion nights would be in place of any tier nights earned later in the year. My Gold tier anniversary is in early June, and when 2 comp / companion nights were added to my Identity profile in May, I assumed that these would be in place of the 2 comp / companion nights that would have otherwise posted to my account in early June after my anniversary date (I had already earned 20,000+ points to maintain Gold for another year). When I logged in and checked my account a couple of days ago, I was surprised to see that not only were the 2 comp / companion nights that posted to my account in May still listed, but an additional 2 comp / companion nights were listed under "Your Gold Tier Offers". Assuming that this isn't a glitch in the system, it's great to see that in addition to reloading everyone's comp / companion nights across the board in May, they're also issuing the comp / companion earned by Identity members who had already renewed their tier.

On another note, I'm curious if anyone else has seen any changes in their point countdown to the next highest Identity tier. As of a couple of weeks ago, my countdown to Platinum was at around 10,000 tier points. I visited Cosmo in early June of 2019 and earned around 13,000 tier credits during that trip, so under normal circumstances, I would have expected those points to drop off of my rolling 365-day total this week. With the Identity changes that Cosmo announced in May, I thought they weren't going to allow tier progression points to expire until sometime later this year. However, when I check my account now, I see that the points have, in fact, dropped off from my tier progression countdown which is now listed at around 23,000 points to Platinum. Was anyone else under the impression that there was a window in which tier progression points weren't going to expire? It could just be that the online system hasn't been updated to reflect this change, but maybe I misunderstood what Cosmo was (or wasn't) going to do in terms of earning toward tier progression.

If you check your identity email where we announced what we were doing, you will see a statement clearly stating tier points will continue to fall off as normal.

Thanks for the note, Kevin. Now that I look at the message from April again, the fine print at the bottom does state that "Tier credits will continue to expire based on normal system timing."

Since I only needed a little over 10,000 points to advance to Platinum up until a few days ago, I was hoping to do so during my May trip which I ended up having to cancel. Now that my countdown is back up to 23,000 points, I'll just have to wait and see how my next couple of trips time out and try again another time. To me, it's not a huge deal since I think the tier benefits even at Gold are very generous.

Can you still purchase gift cards that will go towards tier credits ?
