    It's officially closed.

Last night I read somewhere, but I cannot find it today, that the implosion is tentatively scheduled for some time in October.

IF you typically make an October trip to Las Vegas (as Mrs. P and I do for our Birthdays) it might be worth it to keep your ear to the ground for scheduling purposes.

Nothing like a good old casino implosion.

Only a couple times for us too. Should have went last trip because I was pretty sure we wouldn't get back there before it closed. But given how the rest of the last trip went, I'm okay with skipping it. It wasn't a place I was terribly fond of anyway.

As someone who has stayed/played there a few times over the past 20 years. It will not be missed. Most every place on the strip has something redeeming about it. Not the Trop!

The trop was a unique low roll place I stayed on my 2nd/3rd trip to Vegas. I really enjoyed it but like others here my tastes outgrew it. Was a amazing place to low roll in my early 20s but when you get older you want a nicer room and better alcohol etc etc. I will miss it but the memories > than the place.
