I'm guessing you're new to a heightened level of casino service(a host)and not familiar with casino NYE parties.

The vast majority, if not all, of invite-only casino NYE parties include a meal, drinks and hotel. So if you RSVP, your host is going to book you the whole package. And the demand for invites will usually outweigh the availability. Especially at a local casino.

It was good you let her know about the hotel. But when she asked you about still attending the party, not only did you not respond promptly, you didn't give a definitive answer to her question. And she probably had a waiting list of people still looking for invites.

Her manner might have come off as a bit brusque. But, in this case, you were in the middle of a conversation on a continuing subject. I would expect if she contacts you in the future concerning offers and events that they will start with a greeting and a "hope all is well" type of thing somewhere in the correspondence. And your initial email bouncing around was unprofessional and lame. But you weren't making her job any easier.

When I contact my hosts, I'm friendly, but include my players club card number, any offer codes if I'm booking an offer, and I'm very specific with any special requests or anything extra I am asking for(which is rare). They respond promptly, in a friendly manner, but also to the point.

It's nice and efficient. If an email in a particular chain doesn't have a greeting, it's just a continuation of a started conversation.

It’s the casino hosts job to make the client’s casino experience more enjoyable. As the original poster mentioned, she had no prior communication the party was a sit down rsvp dinner. Even with a miscommunication or if the host had a super stressful crappy day, the host should be courteous and polite. IMHO, the original poster did nothing wrong.

Although my current play is not, over the years at times it has been “host worthy.” I’ve had local hosts, a Laughlin host, and Vegas hosts and understand how using a host works.

Sometimes I wish when you qualified for a certain level of host they would post host profiles online. Then you could read through the bios and pick the one that works best for you.
