How casinos treated their employees during COVID-19

    Very interesting to see the difference in how this has been handled.

    Honestly, as much as we love Cosmo it's very sad to see them not at the same level as Wynn or Venetian. Since I dislike Sheldon in general, I will give him props for this but it looks like we'll be Wynn customers going forward.

    Profit over people sucks and dang right I personally do not like what Cosmo has done. However, I’m hoping upon my return that the folks I’ve formed bonds with will be there ... and that’s where my extra heavy tips will hopefully make them remember that they are the reason I continue to come back. :) ( Not some suit in the upstairs office). Going to be rough for some no doubt but this chick right here plans to try to help fatten their wallets when I’m there.

    I believe so?

    That's an interesting thought. Maybe we'll book our Cosmo trip and then see if our favorite people are still there. Maybe gamble less but tip them extra.

    I hit the spa at v/p every time I stay there (moved on to Cosmo and Wynn as of recently for change) and every therapist I have had except one has been there since the beginning or close to and they say that they love working for Sands and all staff even their friends in the casino are treated very well. Very disappointing for Cosmo to do this but maybe they will up their game now that the others have.

    aw man, the Cosmo news does make me sad. Especially since prior to this, the employees I chatted with seemed to like the place quite a bit.

    It takes years to build up that kind of positive culture and one decision to tear it all down.

    Wonder what the payroll is per week for Sheldon to keep paying everyone on staff? Just for the local casino for two weeks of pay they said it was $730,000 they are paying people for 3 total pay periods Through the middle of May. for

    I was told from a reliable source that a host from one of the larger properties (with 2 other executives) was asked to go to every room to run the water in the sink/shower/tubs and flush the toilets.

    probably to make sure there is water pressure and no roaches were crawling around. True story... when I lived in Vegas, I had to tape up drains I didn’t use frequently because roaches would crawl up the pipes when it was super hot.

    if you let your water sit to long in your toilet without flushing it causes evap and weird build up. i have bathrooms on the other side of the house that never get used but the cleaning lady still goes "cleans" and runs them.

    Haven’t heard anything about how TI is handling this with their employees. Sent my host an e-mail to see how he’s doing, but haven’t heard back. Makes me think he’s probably on furlough.
