Hello! I have a friend that made Gold in Jan, and her recent stay (2 nights) earned 30,000 points. She was only able to get a backend comp of $100. She went to V/P on the Carnival cruise offer and stayed Tues/Wed with no free play or resort credit. Was she under comp by her casino marketing executive? Should she have checked with the host on duty?

    Thanks in advance!

30000 points equate to $2000 theo.
$100 backend plus the suite for two nights, total about $500.
about 25%. on the low end, but not unusual.
If she doesn't have a good host, that's what she would expect.

Thanks! Yes she's new to that property Nd the marketing executive reached out to her after she made Gold in Jan... She believed the host on duty was more generous... In Jan she paid for her rooms 2 nights I think $149? As she went with friend and that was casino rate...she was not able to get room comp as it was already paid for but said she got $500 food comp...

Grazie's kind of a confusing system in that you never really know what you're earning. But I do love it because its easier to calculate theo based solely on points. You don't mention whether the 30,000 points was all based on casino play or whether room charges are on there, but that can make a big difference, especially at Gold level where $1 charged to the room = 20 grazie points. Since she didn't get much comped off, if that 30,000 points includes say $500 in room charges, well thats 10,000 points and suddenly your theo is only based on 20,000 "slot" points.

Also depends on whether there was any "comp value" attached to the cruise. We did the Princess Cruise offer last year and after that stay received far less comped off back-end than we normally do. To give you some perspective, we generally charge about $100/day to the room, and normally we get 75-90% of our room charges comped off over a 5-7 day stay. That week we didn't get anything comped off. In fairness, we spent a lot more time off property playing other places, and that could have had something to do with it. But I suspect there was a "comp value" attached to the cruise offer that we didn't quite work off with our play.

I never asked my host, because I'm not too concerned about it, and I could be wrong, its just my own hypothesis.

So 30k points generates about $2k in Theo? I generated 70k points of play and got $0 taken off. I'm guessing I got hosed by the host and should find a new host or casino to play?

I just answered my own question by not being lazy. At platinum level 70k points is $3500 in Theo. I should have been comped $1,050 at 30% level. Two weekend nights would leave roughly $600. I got a cruise certificate as a marketing offer. I guess they are calculating that against my comps. Sucky and cheap by Sheldon. When I got the Princess cruise last year, my host didn't calculate it against my comps. I guess I will be playing at Cosmo from now on. Maybe M Life.

I can't believe you got nothing taken off at the backend with 70k points and as a platinum?! That's crazy!

Well I'm not losing my host then. Lol I get everything taken off every trip except room service gratuities. I tip cash at restaurants. Some times I play big and sometimes small, but it didn't seem to ever affect me backend and I got both those cruise offers. But with that being said the least amount of points I've earned is around 45,000 and that's when I have days I don't play at all.
