I’m Losing My Identity | Cosmo, May 26 - 30

I just realized that with all the craziness and confusion and mishegoss of packing and trip preparation, I forgot to start my trip report! (A veiled Simpsons reference there for those who partake.)

Anyway, I tend to plan my Vegas trips at least a month or two in advance, but less than a week after I returned from my late April visit, Cosmo sent me another 4 night comp offer, valid mid-May through early July. With a two week trip with my cousins out to Glacier and Yellowstone coming up in mid-June, a short turnaround Vegas trip really wasn’t really on my radar, and I didn’t think I would be able to squeeze in a quick trip to take advantage of the offer…or could I? Getting the Friday before and Tuesday after Memorial Day off wasn’t going to be an issue, so I started checking flights. Looking into flights segued into booking flights, and here we are! I’m working a short day today, then heading out to the airport for my afternoon flight. Barring any delays, I should be in Vegas around 6:30 PM this evening, then I fly back home on Monday afternoon.

With the uncertainty of when exactly Identity will transition to MGM Rewards and how the tier matching and benefits will shake out, this may well be my last opportunity to take advantage of my Identity Platinum perks…namely, airport transportation in one of Cosmo’s Escalades! I have some friends from OKC who will be in town for the weekend and are also staying at Cosmo. They’re fellow “Chandelier rats”, and we have a couple of meals planned at China Poblano and Zuma, so we’ll be hitting up some of our favorite restaurants. I’ll be meeting up with my Vegas family as well, so it’s going to be a wonderful holiday weekend in Vegas!

Looking forward to the usual VP, cocktails, and good company from our favorite bartenders at Chandy and just soaking up the atmosphere we all love at Cosmo. And, word on the street is that @Texas Steph is already putting the hurt on the Hershey’s syrup supply at Chandy, so hopefully I’ll finally have an opportunity to meet her this trip!

Apologies in advance if I end up falling off with the trip updates (it happens to all of us sometimes), but I’ll try to do my best. Five more hours at work, then it’s off to the races!

Also, in breaking MGM fuckery news…Cosmos and lemon drops are now 2 drink tickets Apparently MGM raised prices on many drinks a day or two after the acquisition. Luckily, espresso and chocolate martinis are still 1 ticket…at least for now.

 

Gonna miss Todd. Apparently he will be switching off of his semi-regular Chandy south shift within the next couple of weeks to a different schedule. So, while I can, I’m enjoying his “special”…vodka, St. Germain, peach schnapps, lemon juice, Pama pomegranate liqueur, Sierra Mist.

Moved over to Chandy north to visit with Brandon, and starting off with an awesome freshly muddled raspberry lemon drop!
