What were you playing? $73K on high limits jacks or better has a very different theo from $73K on a penny or progressive machine. At Cosmo, theo is tracked on a machine by machine basis.

I have been staying at the Cosmo for years. Also platinum. I don't know if there was some computer glitch or if they are trying a new "program" but my normal free play was cut in half. I was so pissed I almost decided to become a full time M-lifer. Then they saved the day with a new offer comparable to my older offers. But I do intend to find out what the heck happened. I wonder about the stability of Cosmo. Machines seem tighter lately to me. Food comps went up and freeplay went down (When I historically don't use much in food comps). All seems quite odd.

I did not create this thread to steer people away from Cosmo, just wanted to be clear about that. I think so many people have flocked to this thread, since they saw the exact same things I did. The offers have been in decline. They are still inline with what the big boys clubs are offering, at least from my experience. But they have strayed away from the "Lore people in with better offers to build a following" comps that nearly all of us that posted in here have been used to seeing.

Looks like the gravy train is over. But they also are not pulling a Venetian and shitting on rated players by cutting them off. So, it is not bad. It is just no longer that good. And even though Cosmo is great on these boards, that doesn't mean we, as paying clients, cant point out the obvious.

I am only quoting you since I can absolutely confirm that a change in ratings has taken place there. And I can say without doubt they are leaning towards longer stays (keep us on property for longer) and using that expected comp value to pay for the extra room nights, which then pulls money out of the free play and resort credit bucket.

To some, that is preferred. To others, it is annoying.

100% agree! Most of us moved some, if not all, of our play to Cosmo since they had a great Offer Match program rolled out. And Kevin, who is still a fixture on these boards, was awesome with his personal attention and getting us linked up to the right host.

They rolled out the red carpet, found actual players, and kept us playing with very good offers. They kept us coming back.

One of two things had to have happened. It was not that successful to offer the sort of comps that they were. Or, they assume they will make more money by offering us less.

If we all voice what makes us happy, unhappy or generally (in my case) less happy maybe it gets run up the flagpole.

Cosmo is an island, and I love that. I bitched about the Mlife "Specialty Games" change to my host at Bellagio years ago. But who was he talking it to? The level of corporate at the Mlife level is so high, and it is a national program, that nothing would be done. At Cosmo, you can still (pretty much) see the chain of command. And that is very endearing to me.

For those keeping track, i just did a head a count in this thread.

One person said their offers seemed to stay the same.
Three people said theirs went up, one admitted their play went up drastically as well. I assume that was the case for the other two.
And a whopping 16 of us saw a noticeable decline in up front comps, while some of those (like myself) did note an extra night stay in base offers as a partial exchange in lost free play, resort credit or both.

I think we can now say the Offers Gods have smited us all. As the kids say, It is what it is. I still love my room there, I love my host there, I love the games and "fairness" of the casino and I do really like the players club. It is very fair.

The changes were not enough to get me to move. Mlife & Total Rewards went through a correction years ago, and most people were cut in half. I DID move my play then. Right now I think my offers are still fair, compared to other clubs in town. They are just no longer rocking to the point where I feel like i have to stay at Cosmo every trip.

Cosmo is a tricky one for me when it comes to comps over the past 4 years. I play an average amount yet it's always uneven treatment for me. Sometimes I get 2 night comps, sometimes it was only FP, other times I can get nothing at all. I think I was always right on the edge of comps but not enough to get them. Every month it is something different, and I have no reliability that this month's deal will be better or worse than the last. Right now they are at my highest and best so far: 2 comp nights, but it's like @greekjim, I cannot book them online for some reason.

There are many concerns I have with this Cosmo system: (1) I'm concerned next month will be worse than this month because of this elasticity, (2) Why do I only get 14 days to book a comp (this month it's Mar 14th to Mar 27th) and (3) Why do I have to book so far in advanced for April all the way to June, as the first usable day is April 14th for me.

I want to book Cosmo for June but I'm not sure if that's the days I want or I can go during that time. I also hate to wait until May to do this because the dates may not be available and/or the comp may change. I want to stay Cosmo, but it makes booking Cosmo for me a nightmare.

That's the deal I have right now.

For what it's worth an offer did just show up for me in my online account
It's for 3-nights, with $25 freeplay. So not quite as good as the 4-nights (no freeplay) I've been getting regularly for the past few years; but much better than being cut off.
I don't know why for a while there were no offers at all.

I don't get offers anymore. I think they have the wrong e-mail address for me. :(

IMO that's a little more substantial than "not quite as good." Rooms regularly run $250+ per night. So that's easily a $200-$300 comp reduction depending on the exact nights stayed. Personally I tend to only stay 3 nights, but for someone who likes to stay for 4 nights, that's a big cut.

...and another +1 on my Cosmo offers being consistent for the last couple of years. I've been 3 times a year recently, and usually a week or two following my visit I'll see another comp offer show up in my Identity account online, followed by an email a week or so later, and even the occasional purple envelope via snail mail. My offers have been very consistent, at 4 comped nights and anywhere from $25 - $75 free play (no dining credit).

I know that many who frequent this message board are offered much more way of free play, but for me the 4 comp nights are definitely the major benefit. Given that my level of play is quite moderate (around $20k - $30k coin in over a trip, split between slots and VP), I'm surprised and fortunate that the offers keep coming my way. Also, I'm not sure if others have noticed the same, but another great thing about Cosmo's comp offers is that there are very few blackout dates. I've taken advantage of Cosmo's comp offers on busy holiday weekends, during big trade shows like NAB and CES, and surprisingly these time periods aren't blacked out.

Needless to say, I fear the day that Cosmo is sold and there are major changes to Identity (or it merges with another players club). I doubt that the kind of offers I'm receiving now will be extended to small fish like me under different ownership, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can!

My free play went down from $300 to $50. Other than that the offer is the same (4 nights Terrace Studio fountain view and $100 f/b).

What's really interesting is I just got back from a trip for an offer with dates from Jan through April. Went in mid-March. Offer disappeared online as usual. A replacement has popped up through the end of that April period plus I already had a separate offer from after that April date through June.

I've never seen them issue new offers for the same time period in which you already had or used one.

It could be that they could be testing various changes to offers overall (timing, amount, etc) to see how people respond before deciding which way to go for the future.

My most recent offer went down even more. I guess if I don't stay at Cosmo every trip my offers get worse...haha. My Identity play remained the same for many cycles after my last stay there and for the last two mailings has gone down by more than 2/3. That sure won't make me stay there any time soon.

Update head a count in this thread.

Three people now said their offers seemed to stay the same.
Three people said theirs went up, one admitted their play went up drastically as well. I assume that was the case for the other two.
And a whopping 22 of us saw a noticeable decline in up front comps, while some of those (like myself) did note an extra night stay in base offers as a partial exchange in lost free play, resort credit or both.

I confirmed with Cosmo that they are looking at different ways of comping, and favoring a longer stay seems to be where they are heading.

My offers that started this thread in Feb were:

    2018 Q4 Offer:
    • $100 Dining & cocktails on us
    • $375 Identity Play
    • 2 Complimentary nights
    Feb Offer:
    • $100 Dining & cocktails on us
    • $150 Identity Play
    • 3 Complimentary nights
    Current (April - Aug) Offer:
    • $175 Identity Play
    • 3 Complimentary nights
    • $50 Dining & cocktails on us
My current offer went up $25 in Free Play, but down $50 in resort credit. Now -$25 from before and -$250 from my Q4 offers.

Pointing out that my Q4 offer posted after my last trip. So there was no change in my play from then, until the Q1 offer that dropped. And my Q2 offer that dropped once more was a year past my last stay, and 6 months past my last drop in visit. And also 2 weeks before my last stay, which i just came back from.

Hopefully we hit the bottom here! My weakest rated offers in Vegas are with Mlife right now. I haven't actually stayed with them in a couple of years. Right now my Cosmo offers seem to be aligning with my Aria/Bellagio offers. I hope they do not fall below them.

Considering I only went down a little in Q2, and knowing that most casinos have better offers during the colder winter months, I'd say it might be normal.

I have read that email offers usually come out on the first or second Tuesday after a stay at Cosmo. My last day of four nights was April 15th. It was my first stay there and I made Sterling by the second day and was only 4000 points away of making gold by the time I left on my last day. So I racked up 16,000 points in my four day stay. Coin in was about $84,000. I have been reading that they prefer slot players. I am a video poker player and prefer to play bonus poker, so my 16,000 points don’t mean as much is if I was a slot player. Any truth to this? Do you think I should be receiving any offers with 16,000 points achieved in 4 days.

    84k all on bonus poker?

I am like 75% bonus poker and 25% slots [I can drill into this data but it seems right] and I get offers. I do about 1/3 your coin in over 4 nights

Yes, it was all bonus poker and quite a few hours.
Does your offers compare to M-life or CET... I’m always offered 4 nights at Aria, Bellagio and the like. Venetian is 4 nights as well. I normally wouldn’t expect offers this soon from the other properties but from many posts I’ve read Cosmo usually sends them the 1st or 2nd Tuesday after we return home and I haven’t received anything yet from email or their website.
