It was hard to do but after a family discussion, we decided to cancel our March break trip to the Cosmo/Joshua Tree. Let's see how the next month or two present. This family member is relieved we are staying home. Health and Happiness to all my fellow Fanatics. CHEERS!

We (US) really dropped the ball on this virus. We were too cocky to think it would affect us. We didn’t learn from any past experiences with exotic outbreaks. We should be throwing all of Fort Knox into getting test kits made and setting up testing areas everywhere. We have to know what we are dealing with before we can work on a solution. Test test test, then assess the scope of the issue. If only .00001% of the population has it, then hallelujah! If it’s a significant percentage, I call center field of the new Raiders stadium when they turn it into a quarantine camp lol.

We’ve been sent home for a month and asked to work from home as much as possible. They will cover up to two weeks pay for anyone who can’t do anything from home. Now I have to decide if it would be irresponsible of me to fly during this time since the the whole point is to keep us indoors as much as possible.

Have a solid crew of gamblers that I go with every March. We’re still going in a couple days as planned. Would be different potentially if we were older (all of us are in our early/mid 40s) or in bad health. Based on all available information it seems very low risk. Can’t live life scared - just have to tune out the media and their “fear porn”. Instead of being silly and hoarding toilet paper we should be toilet papering whores.. or something like that.

    Players play.

Wow.....That’s a tough one. A very proactive approach by your employer. I guess I would say when your not on the clock, your life is yours to live. You have to weigh the risk and decide what’s in your best interest. Wish you the best!

Still going to my Biloxi trip next week. I'm not too worried. But I'd be pissed if I die from it and my last trip is Biloxi. Would rather catch it and die from it after going to Vegas!

Been to two different local casinos this past week. I definitely noticed a lot of hand sanitizing dispensers all around and a lot more cleaning people working.

Business certainly appears to be down. I’m in Arizona and March is peak tourism season here so that along with the “snowbirds” who spend the winters here the local casinos are packed normally 7 days a week this time of year. Both times I had no problem finding open machines to play.

The one I went to today has a large bingo room that I walk through from the parking lot and it’s usually always full. Looked to be about 60% full and everyone was sitting more spread apart. Other than that though it’s business as usual.

I'm Diabetic and still plan on going at the end of May. It would have to get pretty bad for us to cancel.

That's why when you book a new room reservation by April 30th, 2020 through our website, app or call center you will be able to cancel or rebook your reservation prior to arrival without charge. We want you to plan with confidence and peace of mind.

LAS VEGAS – As coronavirus continues to spread across the country, one of Sin City's most popular stops is getting shut down along the Strip: buffets.

On March 15, MGM Resorts International will temporarily close buffets at the company's seven Strip properties: ARIA, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor and Excalibur.

"These changes are temporary and will be evaluated on a weekly basis," the company said in a statement to the USA TODAY Network.

Properties of Caesars Entertainment – the largest MGM competitor on the Strip – will keep buffets open.

"We are incorporating cleaning and hygiene protocols into the buffets as well as the rest of our operations across the company," the company said in a statement.

    Mayor opposes buffet closure
Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman said she respects MGM Resorts’ efforts to keep the public safe from coronavirus – but she would not have closed the buffets.

Goodman referenced the use of glass on cruise ships to keep patrons from breathing on buffet food as a better solution

Nice to be able to vent about this somewhere. The buffets closing has not helped me keep our group calm about our anniversary trip first week of June. To be fair the majority of the group is over 60 with varying health issues so I get why they are so concerned. However, the trip is still a couple months away so I'm not willing to pull the plug yet. All we can do is wait and see how things progress for now.

My flight on 3/20 is completely sold out. Every seat. We take a chance driving every day. We take a chance getting on that plane ( one of my biggest anxieties, if I’m being real), and I will continue to live my life ( with some extra precautions). I’m not ignorant of infectious diseases or viral illnesses, but I’m living each day to the fullest and with my pocket size hand sanitizer at the ready. Life is short and sometimes you need a getaway. That place for me is Las Vegas! Whether it’s by plane, train, or row boat I’m getting there.

I'll be in Vegas next week and I'm not the least bit worried about it.

To be fair, I'm not in a demographic the virus poses a serious risk to even if I were to contract it.

My trip is over six weeks away, but I’m thinking it’s less likely. It’s easy to bump it back a few months and I won’t lose money. Still planning on waiting until it’s close to make my final decision.

This makes sense to me. I do have Lion King tickets and Kusama tickets. The Kusama tickets were cheap but I’d be bummed to miss it. My kids have seen the Lion King multiple times but nonrefundable. Very superficial concerns, but it sucks.

“Buffets at Aria, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor and Excalibur would be close temporarily, effective Sun. March 15”

May take my chances once or twice this trip at Bellagio Breakfast Buffet.

This isn’t meant to add to the fear mongering...just showing a potential outcome. We Americans too easily believe we are above anything terrible happening to us. Live life, but be sensible and considerate of the others living amongst us. These are tweets, so read from bottom up on the attachments, starting with attachment 1.
