Another Fontainebleau trip. Slot tourney, Adam Sandler show and my first ever alone trip.

Had my ups and downs playing. But I do think the slots at FB are very, very fair. Our Friend Kevin Sweet does a good job. But it does get kinda repetitive after a couple days. And i do miss staying with MGM, where I can hop around and reset if I am losing.

Still, glad I went! As always, I am open for any questions or comments.

Been on VF for a number of years now. Never posted. I gotta say. I thoroughly enjoy reading your trip reports. We were always an MGM family as well, until we tested out FB last year. Excellent high limit room, very clean, not so crazy on Friday and Saturday nights, and very convenient walk for my daughter to Circus Circus. I agree though that it doesn't have the Vegas feel and variety of shops and attractions that the MGM properties do, so we always have to mix in a stay at Mandalay Bay and Aria during the year as well. FB's rewards program is excellent. I only play in high limit, and they have a large high limit room with a large variety of machines, and you're not fighting to get onto a machine like at Aria and Cosmo. I went solo this trip as well, specifically for the same slot tournament and the freeplay. I also played at the 11am time, earned 16 tickets for the 19th hole drawing, and didn't win a thing. It was funny though, I sat next to a small Asian gal for my 2nd and 3rd round play. Both times she scored 2nd place, and she said she scored 1st, just above you, for the 1st round. It was just odd because she had a low score both of those rounds for the first 3 minutes and then repeatedly started getting x3x4x5's back to back. Just found it a little odd, since these tournaments always "randomly" assign your machines from a computer screen after you handed them your card and ID to check in. Makes you wonder how random these tournaments truly are. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to the next trip report!

Great first post! And thank you for the kind words. Funny that we were there together. I kinda stick out in a crowd, being 6' 275 # and wearing shades indoors with the tanktops. Maybe even more so at something like this tourney, where it was mostly women and a bit older ones at that.

I had my host on hand to cheer me on. It was go0d to have a buddy there, and she is awesome.

Her and Kevin Sweet who runs the slots at FB, were my goto's over at Cosmo when they both were there. I followed them both to Rio, but it just wasn't for us. Thankfully they ended up somewhere useful to me!

MGM is still my home base. We love Bellagio, and its so easy to casino hop. I was fearing being stuck at FB all alone, if the gambling Gods turned on me. Which they did! With MGM I could have reset at another MGM casino and tried my luck. At FB, not so much. I settled for Circus Circus but that just takes away money from FB, and dilutes my play there.

I just missed the cut for $500. Where did you end up? And I think these things would be hard to rig. Plus, out of 150 invited guests how could they pick who should have won.

I am sure you know, but FB has your Noah's Ark slot right outside of that HL room. Now that you know who I am, Slap me in the butt if you pass me in Vegas!

London, a personal question if I may. Do you all have Raccoons over there? My buddy from Glossop stays with me each year, to do a Chicago Bears football game. And he goes batshit when he sees a raccoon. He thought it was a strange dog at first, when he saw one in my yard. Im not sure if he is just stupid, or if those things just dont exist by you all in the UK

I ended up at my usual spot in these slot tournaments, somewhere around the bottom 10%. I got the $250 consolation prize. I rarely do these anymore. Just went because I had free play associated with it, and I wanted to get a little payback from my last trip there in September...which I did, left up $51K. Yes, you will frequently find me playing that Noah's Ark machine just outside the high limit room, and especially the one in the high limit room. I'll play just about everything in the high limit room except for any of those damn 3 coins/3 pigs/3 hens/3 pots/3-whatever fucking games every manufacturer keeps putting out. However, the old-school IGT machines are the ones I'll typically be rotating around. Will look out for you the next time I'm there. I'll be the one that can nearly fit into your shadow like a glove, 5'11", 260#!

Ha! He's not stupid. Not on this thing anyway - no raccoons here in the UK. We do have foxes though, especially in London. Loads of them. Gorgeous, they are.

Side note, pretty sure I was sitting next to you on a row of Buffalo Gold machines at TI maybe 4-6 years ago! Hope to run into you some time, mate.

Maybe! I used to stay at TI every trip until summer of 2022, when my host dicked me on something. Haven't been back since. I do miss their casino, which IMO was always fair. But the rooms are pretty lackluster, the eats where typically shitty and limited. And I'd have the same FOMO I have now staying at FB, where its just one casino to explore while Im being rated.

Jim Gray? You got to meet Jim Gray!!
I used to really like him back in the 90's for reasons I forget. In the last however many yrs of Brady's career they did a weekly interview which probably explains his ties to Excellence. You couldn't pay me to listen to that and I'm a Pats fan
Anyway, great stuff as always. What a win that last one was. Congrats!
I share your aversion to stand alones. My local is either Mohegan Sun or I used to go to MGM Springfield. You get up or worse, down and there's nowhere to go and if I enjoy a couple pops can't even drive home. I still go couple, three times a yr.
Gonna check out your 4 WInds report now.
I was out in Chicago for the marathon, not me, wife. Saw Bally's Chicago. No time / opportunity to check it out. Is it worth it?

I did, he was so nice too! Very gracious and thankful to anyone that walked up to him.

I have Mohegan Sun and Fox Woods atop my todo lists. If I am going to be stuck at a standalone. A massive joint like theirs is the way to do it!

Negative on Ballys. It is just a tourist trap right now. The old building its in right now, Medinah Temple, is a cool place to be. I used to go there to watch the Circus as a kid. But not really set up for a proper casino. As its just temporary. The "real" casino should ave been opened by now. But Ballys is broke from what I hear. Illinois gambling all around is shit. As the state takes too big of a cut. Leaving little left to return to players. I do all my gambling out of state.

    Thanks Biggie!
