I am on the lowest rung of the Cosmo offer ladder. I get casino rates and an offer of $25 free play with the chance for $50 more if I earn enough points. I pay for my rooms and charge all the food back and with my slot play (mostly) I make Sterling every year and I'm good with that.

I have an upcoming trip next month not staying at Cosmo. I know it likely won't hurt but if I wanted to try to increase my play there, if I popped in for a couple hours one day with $400-$500, would that best be spent on the tables (BJ) or the slots? I have an upcoming March trip with 3 days at Cosmo that I'm going to increase my play during that trip from past levels and didn't know how Cosmo would treat a one time stop in for a couple hours. I'm definitely going to eat at Zuma and figured if I'm stopping by, might as well gamble too.

I got a generous offer(2 free nights, + my Sterling night, $525 Identity Play, $100 dining credit) for the afternoon I played there. I literally hit Sterling in my 2-3 hours there so it was a lot of coin in over a short period of time. Slots seems to be the way to go if you're interested in having your play tracked accurately. Not specifically at Cosmo, but I've bought in for $1k at a table before and checked my play later and had it never even be entered.

Definitely the slots! That won’t get you anything on table play as many have stated in their trip reports. Slot players get the best offers for their money everywhere.

Video poker is tough to generate much as well. It’s $6.50 a point and no multipliers. But it’s one of the better values if you’re a lower roller. All that said, for such a nice property it’s not insanely difficult to get a basic 2 night comp.

Lower to mid level table play and VP don't seem to mean much to the Cosmo... According to the Identity desk, my last two trips at the Cosmo have been tracked at $75/hand (BJ) for 3 hours and $2k coin in on VP for one night, and then $56/hand (BJ and roulette) for 9+ hours and $8k coin in over three days... no offers at all. I used my Sterling and Gold comped nights for those stays, but I've received absolutely no offers from them. If it is comps you are after, slots seem like the way to go.

My opinion is Cosmo loves slot players. That level of buy in will not help generate offers playing blackjack.

Thanks everyone, seems like slots it is. I know the amount isn't much but then again, my offers are not very much either so maybe it will help. I know that amount can go quickly on slots but hopefully I can recycle it through a little. I'm under 3 weeks now so it's getting close.

You can win just as much on $500 as you can on $5000 with slots. Any spin can produce a huge win. Hope you are able to get a lot of play on your dollar and generate some offers! Good luck!

I'd definitely say slots, but here's where you're going to run into a little bit of a problem.

    Let's say you're willing to lose $400 - $500 on slots for the night/session.

If you ballpark theo at 10% (90% payback), and you actually manage to achieve theo, you'll get $4,000 - $5,000 coin in, which is healthy enough to get good offers at Cosmo.

But if you only achieve 85% payback (which wouldn;t be horrible), you'll only do $3,000 - $3,750 coin in. $3,750 is not bad, but $3,000 is on the low end.

And if you have fairly poor luck and have a 80% payback, you may only do $2,000 - $2,500 coin in (or less), which is marginal for Cosmo. It may still result in better offers than what you're getting for BJ though.

Don’t forget slots have a high house advantage compared to blackjack. The $1500 you have earmarked would just as easily pay for your rooms and more. Don’t fall into be trap of playing for comps. Just “comp yourself”.

I'm not chasing comps, just trying to maximize. It's only $500 and I'm planning on gambling it anyway. If slots run cold halfway through I may switch to BJ but it seems Cosmo does favor slots.

Weekend nights at Cosmo are like at least $400 per night... so that $1500 might go pretty fast, with none left over for entertainment

Thanks for all the info everyone. Just to update, went in Monday and played some slots. Yesterday got a bounce back offer for $60 free slot play. Which is pretty good imo since before the only offer I had was $25 free play with $50 after earning 2500 points. Don’t know what effect it’ll have going back and claiming it but that’s where I’ll be today. I’ll play some of my money but not the level I played Monday. Once again, thanks for all the responses

How many hours are you gambling when you go in?

I'd put in more time. That's what matters to them

Not really true. I'm pretty sure they're very interested in the amount you put through. I gambled at Cosmo a grand total of once with an identity card back in October, less than 3 hours of play, but probably closer to 2 hours. My bounce back offer the following day was for $385 in free play. The first mailed offer was for 2 free nights, $525 in FP, and $100 dining credit. A big reward for a short gambling drive by. I had a ton of coin in though
