Anyone else lose their host during the transition? We hadn't been going anywhere near as much as we used to but I'm looking at coming in a few weeks and I don't appear to have a host anymore.

So far after reading this thread and looking at my offers, most notably the resort fee no longer comped, it's looking like this itch may not get scratched anytime soon.

I can't recall anytime while booking through our host having random dates that were blacked out, but of course one of the dates I'm looking at (Sep 7) is showing at full price with comped nights on both sides of it (and comped every other date except Sep 28).

Puts a 3-night trip that had always been completely free (in a fountain view room) at $450, and without the view. I need that money to be a degenerate on the gaming floor, not to needlessly throw away at a room.

I think it was MGM that culled the number of Cosmo casino players with a host. But this was done well before the final data integration a couple weeks ago. I used to have a Cosmo host but a few months ago the name stopped showing in my offers and it had the phone number to VIP services instead of the host name and number. Personally I don’t really care. I always booked with VIP services anyways.

I spoke to my Cosmo host and she is still my host but the host name doesn't show up on MGM site.

Yes I lost mine a couple months ago. Her name stopped showing up on my mailers. When I reached out she mentioned that many of her players were removed but she told me to continue contacting her and she would be happy to book me so that is what I have been doing.

Thanks for the very thorough explanation, @Chuck! As there are no offer dates prominently displayed on each individual offer in the "Offers" page, I was curious how to determine the offer cycle and when the offers have "refreshed" for the next month, but now I see that the details are in the Ts&Cs. I just checked my current offers, and as is the case with the offer you showed in the screen capture, my offers are showing a "book by" date of 8/31/24. So, to make sure I'm understanding this correctly, I could book an offer now for January, and if I waited until I get a "refreshed" offer next month that shows a "book by" date of 9/30/24 to book an additional trip for March, in theory I would get the full freeplay and resort credit listed for each offer, correct? That's assuming, of course, that an additional, updated offer posts in September, which may or may not be the case.

On a side note, shortly after the July 30th transition I checked my MGM Rewards account and was pleased to see that I was still getting 4 night comp offers for Cosmo, along with Bellagio, Aria, and the other MGM properties. When I checked the Cosmo offer calendar specifically, there were a few scattered blackout dates through the end of the year. However, now that I look at the same calendar, I'm seeing a fair number of additional blackout dates. That may well be due to people starting to book more trips for the end of the year and increased demand, more MGM patrons deciding to give Cosmo a try, and so on. There are probably many factors in play, so it's not worth trying to figure out why the blackout situation has changed a bit. I did notice, however, that when I check comp availability for Cosmo in particular, a date may be listed as COMP on the calendar, but when I actually select a range of dates on the calendar, the first two nights will show up as COMP and then I'll get a rate (usually $75) for the last two nights. I've tested this on multiple date ranges in multiple months and I keep getting the same result. Just curious if this is some sort of glitch, as it seems to be occurring on the Cosmo offer calendars in particular. As we've said may times before, when in doubt, just give them a call, but I found it interesting that I was noticing this issue only on the Cosmo calendars.

What is happening with Freeplay is:

If you book the same month's offer twice, you'll definitely only get it once unless a host is involved.

If you book different month's offers but the stays are in the same month, well, that is getting interpreted differently by different employees (probably not a surprise).

I think what happened is that the policy was probably poorly communicated along the lines of "You can only get it once a month" meaning once per offer (because that is what the T&C language says).

But anything remotely ambiguous can be interpreted the wrong way.

What I have seen elsewhere is that in that situation (where you booked separate month's offers for stays occurring in the same month), some people are getting the 2nd freeplay loaded automatically, but a lot aren't. Of those who don't, some are getting denied by the desk staff when they try to get it there. And a few of those denied by desk staff have made a trip to the host office (even if they don't have a host) and gotten it loaded that way.

We'll have to see if this gets clarified or fixed over the next few months. My own opinion, which means nothing, it that every month's offer is a separate offer and the stay dates should be irrelevant (as long as you have the 72 hour buffer period).

There's no similar issue with Resort Credit - you get it on multiple bookings regardless of how you booked, unless you get blacklisted for burning them.

As far as the Cosmo pricing, I don't know, it sounds like typical MGM booking engine behavior that would happen when either:
    • One or more nights in your date range is more expensive than they're willing to comp you for a single night, or
    • Your first couple of nights are really expensive and you're running out of total comp value they're willing to give you upfront, before the end of the date range you put in.
Could also be they have slightly different logic for Cosmo. Could also be a glitch. But it sounds like known MGM booking engine behavior.

Does anyone have an update on what's happened with Cosmo's airport transportation department? Do they exist still and if so who will qualify--NOIR only?

I noticed my Holiday Gift Shoppe points increased again yesterday, so I guess they're still migrating some lingering data to MGM Rewards...?

@CherriesJubilee I noticed the same thing. My Holiday Gift Shoppe points doubled yesterday. They are still "investigating" my missing tier points from the conversion. I thought September would be my last trip, but... those points can be converted to free play. And right now, the free play amount is kind of nuts. So, maybe I will be back. :)

I’m nearing 300K HGS points which is $1000 Freeplay. I hope they keep finding and adding more gift shoppe points to my account. Pretty sure I’ll be booking a trip to redeem them.
