I've been home from Vegas less than a month and I've realized that only having work to look forward to is not doing it for me at all.

So, I'm thinking that June would leave me enough time to save up some gambling dough (provided I stay away from the local).

I'm just curious if anybody had any advice - particularly any weeks I should avoid due to conventions or other things that increase the crowds and most importantly, the prices.

I don't care about the weather, coming from the frozen wasteland Wisconsin, I enjoy the heat.

I checked the convention calendar and didn't see anything too big, but perhaps there is something I'm not aware of?

Many thanks in advance for any tips!

EDC is in mid-May instead of June this year, so you probably wont have much to deal with.

MLife and CET hotels, and Cosmo all have rate calendars you can pull up to see what the cheapest dates in the month are.

Been there in June not knowing it was EDC weekend. While the strip is pretty busy the casinos are not packed as a lot of people were out at the racetrack. It appears as mentioned above it's in May now. I would say after memorial day weekend rush you should be safe for June. Heading there June 2-5, my comps were ten times better when compared to the weekend before (memorial day).

So my advice would be book somewhere with a good pool and if your dates are flexible, then book the cheapest dates you can find. If you have any questions regarding hotels or pools feel free to ask away.

Thank you! I didn't think anything major was going on, but thought I would ask just in case I was missing something. I will probably stay at the Venetian, comped, but will need to find a different hotel for an additional night or two. Sounds like I shouldn't have too much trouble. I just didn't want to book during crazy busy times.

However, stupid here went to the local yesterday and got my a$$ handed to me. It might push the Vegas trip back a little. I realized yesterday that going to the local casino is nowhere close to Vegas. Completely different vibe, not nearly as much fun. Gonna try to stay away...
