After the phone gets charged we decide to head to monte carlo and see what we can do there. Hubs grabs another 100 from the safe and off we go. Surprise we never make it there. Hubs sees a hot 8 machine and puts 20 bucks in that. I thought it sucked. The bonuses he got were shit. It was so boring I didn't even bother with pics. I guess it's a good game if you really low rolling but it wasn't for me.
We walk around and he sees walking dead the original and he plays that. I find some other machines and put 20 bucks in but get nothing back. So I am down a hundred, but my spirits are not broken. Decide to check out high limit and put through 300 bucks with nada to show for that. No bonus no wins no nothing. Just spin spin spin. By now it's 730 and we are hungry again. We decide on wicked spoon. Not all that great especially for the hundred bucks it cost. I prefer aria's buffet. I do like the individual servings instead of a big plate pile on but other than that not overall impressed. By now it's 830 and we're getting really tired. As you said Claire your asleep early well so were we. We decide to hit a couple of more slots and then call it a night. Hubs loses all of his money and I am down to my last hundred. I decide to play WOF and put my last hundred in and get enough that I am treading water. Finally get a spin and win 50. Decide to keep playing and get another spin for 20. Blech shitty bonuses but I kept spinning. Get another spin and hit 250 I now have 350 for that day and I am so tired I am getting a headache. We decide t ok call it a night and I fell asleep in five minutes. Now it's 445 and I need to figure out what to do with myself. There is always the casino and I do have 350 bucks from yesterday so don't need to touch today's money yet. Decisions decisions.
The lure of something to drink besides tap water might win out, plus I am degenerate. Thanks for following along. I will get some pics up plus a few videos of my low rolling winning soon.

Sorry for no paragraph breaks. I am used to seeing things on a word doc and forget to hit enter when it's on a tiny screen.

Another thought...this casino is freezing. I might have to buy a sweater or a hoodie to keep warm

Good job having yesterday's $$ to start you off today! Agree air conditioning is awful this time of year in the casino's- they always set it way too low! A few good wins will warm you up though- good luck today!

Nice to be ale to use part of yesterday's money without dipping into today's bankroll. I always have to travel with a sweater/sweatshirt because I find all casinos too cold. Good luck to you and hubby today.

Great start yesterday! I hope your luck is continuing today. I'm already trying to decide what hoodies and sweaters to pack for my trip next week. Casinos are so cold! I always feel silly packing sweaters for a summer trip to LV but it sure is necessary to be comfy while slotting!

So we have been back almost a week and I have a little time to lick my wounds and regroup. Sorry for the drop off but Vegas and life sometimes dont do what I want them to do. Day 2 starts off pretty good, I go down to the casino because I want something other than tap water and hubby is awake by this time and he is getting a headache so I go to the little shop to get drinks and advil. I actually didn't stop at a slot, I must be losing it. Get back upstairs and the lure of the balcony is just too much. Take a few pics as the sun rises and text the kids at home and show off my view. When I say kids, that is actually a misnomer, our youngest kid is 22 and the oldest is 27 with a third one in the middle at 24. The oldest will turn 28 when we go to Vegas for the slot tourny in October. We also have a 7 year old grandson. I did not have the fountain view at Cosmo, but instead had the city view facing Aria and MGM. I actually like this view, I get the mountains and the shiny strip. As we are sitting and enoying the balcony, time just slips away, we finally determine we are hungry and hit The Henry again, hubs has the same breakfast burrito he had the day before and I had the french toast which I forgot to take a picture of. The french toast was delicious, I ate most of it before I could stop myself. Not sure what time it is by now, but we try and figure out what we are going to do for the day. I am trying to give most of my play to Cosmo in hopes of future offers, but we can't really get anything going there so we decide to try Bellagio.
Walk down to the bellagio and take the long way in through the shops and the walkway because we needed time to get warm. Hit a few slots no wins no losses. The we find a 10 dollar craps table and decide to buy in. I played for while and guy steps up and places about 12k on the don't and a lay bet for about 10k on the 5. He wins and walks away up about 25K. One bet and leaves, hubs was at the other end of the table and saw the final result and watched the guy leave, and was stunned at just walking away after one bet. Eventually, I lost my buy in and my daughter and sister were blowing up my phone so I stepped away leaving hubs at the table. When I came back he was up a couple of hundred and having a great time, I however was getting bored. Everything I put my money into turned into a 10 cent TITO. After another hour or so we decide to try some places further down the strip. We hit the flamingo and didn't feel the vibe so we head toward the Linq. We get there and I don't feel like playing craps so I wander around and leave him at the table. I hate the cell service here, The only way to get a signal is to be almost outside. I wander around hit some slots and lose. There seems to be a pattern here! I finally decide to hit the craps table and buy in for 200 bucks. I do the see saw thing for a while and finally decide to switch to the dark side after finally going down to about 50 bucks. Spent the next 3 hours playing the dark side with no real losses and clawed my back up and finally cashed out at over 500 bucks. Only leaving me down about 100 bucks for the day. I have never played the dark side that much for that long but it was the coldest I had ever seen, everyone was PSO. There was a guy playing next to me to started to capitalize on it and walked away with over a grand after only buying in for 100 bucks. I should have followed his lead instead of staying at the 10 dollar limit with 6x odds, but I will take a purple chip any day of the week.
By this time it is almost 9pm and we are happy with where we are gambling wise and decide to try and find something to eat. We head to Holsteins to split a burger and a boozy shake. I ordered the Gold Standard burger and the a-chocolypse now shake. OMG! I could taste the smokiness of the burger before it ever reached my mouth and the shake was more then enough chocolate to satisfy. I love that they give you the left over that doesn't fit in the glass. Splitting this was the right decision as there is no way I could eat all that by myself. Feeling fat and happy we slot around for a little while with no wins or losses and call it a day.

    Day 3...
Check out of cosmo and check into Monte Carlo. I have an offer at the MC for 40 bucks in FP and 200 in Mlife resort credit. I like MC, the rooms need a little updating but the employees are always so friendly and seem to be happy to work there. I do the check out on the TV at Cosmo and book a lyft for the ride over to MC. I tried to get hubs to walk it but he didn't want to drag luggage down the strip. Since I have the credit at MC we decide to skip food at cosmo and just grab a bite at MC. We get to MC and I expect to be told there would be a fee for early check in, but nope they got us right into our room at 1130 in the morning. I called it a win! Our room was on the 15th floor overlooking the pool area. I am not a big view person as you can see. I don't spend enough time in my room to look out of the window, but oh how I miss that balcony! I didn't realize how much I loved it until we left. Such as life though, you don't what you've got until it's gone! Now that I have put that song in your head, off we go. We decide to eat at diablo's, their nachos are great and HUGE. For 20 bucks they can feed four or five people, Hubs ordered a beer and I had water. We sat near what I guess is the patio part? Air conditioned enough to feel comfortable but outside enough to feel the warmth and take in the people walking down the strip. The food was good as expected and filled us up. We walked out happy and decided to do some slotting with nothing happening there, big surprise. We play craps for a while with no big losses, but I like the crew there, they are always laughing and having a great time. The rest of the day becomes a blur, we spent most of it in MC with nothing major happening. No dinner tonight we were still full from lunch. Sorry for the boring day but nothing exciting happened at all. So on to day 4.

    Day 4...
Last full day in Vegas. What to do? Since we hadn't eaten since lunch the day before we are hungry, we decide to eat at the buffet in MC. We have eaten at their buffet for lunch before and swore we would never eat there again, but I figured how bad can you screw up breakfast. Don't answer that I figured it out. Sometimes I am a hard learn. It was not even picture worthy. Most of the food was bland or overcooked, I found some toast and potatoes to eat and left very unsatisfied. Hubs had been saying he wanted to try some blackjack as he had been practicing on his phone so we went looking for a blackjack table at low limits so he could his feet wet. We couldn't find anything in MC so we hopped on down to NYNY. Found an empty table for 10 bucks and bought in for 200.
This is his first time playing live so I wanted a table where it was just us and the dealer so he could get comfortable. We start out and the cards just aren't gong his way, he keeps getting 12 and 13 against a 17 or higher. Some people come and go and one guy gets pissed because hubs won't follow book on some of those 12's and 13's. I told him don't worry about that ass. it's a low limit table and if the jerk wanted strict book play he should've gone to higher limit where he has a right to get pissed off. I don't ever worry about strict book play at a low limit table because I know that what plays there is mostly newbies just learning the game. I like the low limit tables for the social aspect and nothing else. I love watching new people start playing the game and learning and winning. For me it makes for a better game. We played here for several hours and I doubled my money while hubs lost his.
We decide to head further south and hit Excalibur. I hate this place, but for some reason hubs thinks it's OK. We get there and it is packed with all the EDC people checking. They and their luggage are wrapped around to the doors coming from the bridge. UGH! Weaving through a see of people we put a few bucks into some slots and find a 5 dollar craps table. Now we are really low rolling. I but in for a hundred and the table is so choppy I can't get anything to stick. I try the dark side and the point gets made I switch back and it becomes PSO. By now I have had all I can take of this place and losing isn't helping. I walk away and wait until hubs has finally lost his money and we walk back to MC and decide to eat at Double Barrell.
I ordered the ribs and hubs had the pork BBQ. The food was good, not the best BBQ I have ever had, but not enough to make hate it. We sat on the patio and just enjoyed the evening, watched the basketball game and saw the crappy calls being made by the refs. After dinner we decide to low roll at the slots. And I do mean low roll. we were betting 20 cents a spin, what was worse or better? we were actually winning at this level. Every time I tried to up the bet to max I would lose, but I would win at the lowest level. So low roll it was. It gave us several hours of play of very little money. I made 20 bucks last around 2 hours. I was happy. We eventually get bored and as I am looking at my husband he looks like death warmed over. He had been drinking all day! Way too many to keep track of but enough that by the time we finished dinner he was feeling no pain. I figured that somehow he was hungover without ever having gone to sleep. I decide to play some more blackjack and buy in for 200 bucks and I am able to play for 3 hours and only lost 50 bucks. We were leaving in the morning and decided to call it a night.

    Last hours....
We get up pretty late for us, about 8 o'clock. Get our stuff together and get dressed and decide to eat up the last bit of our 200 bucks. We decide to eat at the PUB. I ordered the steak and eggs and hubs had (wait for it) a breakfast burrito! The food was good and I would go back, my steak was a little over cooked but not so much I couldn't live with it. After breakfast we had about an hour before we need to be at the airport. so we low rolled on some slots and lost a couple of hundred bucks before heading to the ride share line only to find surge pricing in effect with a 15 minute wait time so we decided to cab it. Got a great cab driver, she was personable and talkative and did her best to avoid the construction at the airport. Our fare for the ride was 16 bucks which I felt was reasonable, but with a tip it was 25. Yes I know I over tipped, but I felt she was worth it and it was what I would have paid to Uber or Lyft with their surge pricing in effect. We get to the airport and the line for southwest is unreal. Our flight was scheduled for 12:50 and it was 11:30 when we got in the line. I was a little worried at first, but the line moved fairly quickly and we were inside by 11:45. We get to TSA and there is no one in line. We got through and to our gate in 5 minutes. I have never been through that fast. But TSA clearly does not do their job well. I probably shouldn't post this here but... So I get to the TSA line and I hand over my ID and ticket, the agent puts his codes on and sends me on my way. I realize I still have hubs ticket in my hand so I go to hand it to him and realize the TSA agent had checked me with my hubs ticket so he had to check in Hubs with my ticket. Never once did he miss a beat just checked us through like we had the correct tickets. I then get to the scanner and am asked if everything is out of my pockets I say yes and go through the scanner, I am then patted down on my breast and back and sent on my way. When I get my stuff form the bins I realize I had stuff in my back pocket, my credit card, my mlife card, my hotel key and another casino players card. None of that registered with the scanner, but somehow my boobs deserved a second look, go figure. We get on the plane and had a great ride to Orlando. The flight attendant dressed up as Elvis and cracked a few jokes as he gave the safety instructions. It was one of the best flights we ever had. 2016-06-17 13.03.02.jpg

    Final thoughts...
Overall we had a great time. Even though we lost our money it was a relaxing visit and that is all I can ask for. Cosmo is great and I love the balcony. I wish I could have won something but I did go up a tier to sterling, so I hope I can get some offers from that for October. I also get my pearl status with mlife adding over 30K points to our card for just a couple of days worth of play. There was charge on our bill at Cosmo for the 47 dollar vodka from the mini bar but they took that off right away as soon as I told them we didn't buy it. The funny part is we didn't even touch it, we only talked about it and how much a rip off it was, kinda spooky to have it show up on the bill. We gong to try Eggslut, but the line was so long we skipped it and went to The Henry instead, which we were fine with. As i already said The Wicked Spoon was over rated IMO, I know there are many people who love it, but I still feel Aria has a better buffet. Loved Holstein's and they gave us a to-go cup for the milkshake which we finished on the casino floor. The balcony, there is not enough I can say about this. I love getting up in the morning and sitting out there enjoying the breeze and just a great start to the day. The furniture out there could be more comfortable but we survived. To do list at Cosmo: still need to try Eggslut, also still want to make it chandelier to have a verbena and a shnozzeberry drink. Also, it seems at Cosmo, I don't snore. Hubs woke up a couple of times and thought I was awake because there was no noise coming from me, but nope just sleeping. So I guess I need to find where they get their beds from and order one.
I do enjoy Mlife and MC. I know the rooms are a bit tired, but they do the job for me. I am not usually in my room long enough to care about the decor anyway. I love the employees at MC, they are always friendly and happy to talk to people. We had a dealer Thursday at MC who was from Greece and she traded out with another that was Asian. Not sure where exactly she was from other than California, but she hated the Chinese. She told a Chinese couple off and shoved money back at another guy who tried to buy in. Neither lasted long. It was kinda funny to watch in that weird, uncomfortable way and then she began to bash them and talk major crap about how cheap they are, but that they have a lot of money so they don't need to be so cheap. The dealer from Greece hates Russians and we heard more than once that the "fucking Russians" are to blame for various things. The first time she dropped the F bomb I was surprised but eventually it just became part of her language and speech pattern to the point I stopped noticing. I don't know if that is good or bad?? The dealers at NYNY need to be more talkative, every time I tried to talk to her she just ignored me or acted like she never heard me, she eventually warmed up but never really got the full personality I would have hoped for.
I can't wait for October and I am bringing my daughter, my sister and a friend of my daughter's with me. It will be a first time for my sister and she and my daughter are close to the same age, so they plan on doing the club thing. They have already started their planning and preparing and are getting very excited. Thanks for following along!

Thanks for the report! Sounds like you had fun and logged a lot of points even though you had no major wins. That seems to be a reoccurring theme in all recent trip reports. Makes me nervous for my upcoming trip.

I'm surprised about an openly racist dealer. No way would I stay at a table where anyone was making racist comments much less a dealer I would tip. I would have told her politely how she offended me and walked away.

You can actually order the beds but you need to find someone to go in on it with. They are $1300+ if purchased thru one of the hotel bed websites but if you go to the Sam's Club website, they have them sold in pairs for $1200. We actually did this and I don't regret it at all. It is awesome to get a sound night's sleep. And get the extra pillowtop mattress pad to make it authentic. You might have to get a running start to get in bed but I just call that my sleepytime exercise. :)

Great report! Bummer you couldn't get any traction on some gambling wins- I think we've all had trips where the big stuff just wasn't hitting. Glad to hear you did move up some levels on the players cards- at least there was play value!!

Agreed the Cosmo balconies can't be beat- really get spoiled once you've stayed there. Actually gives reason to stay in the room a bit longer in the mornings and at the end of the night!

Thanks for sharing- good luck on the October trip!!

Darn, I travel on Southwest a lot and have never had an attendant dress up as Elvis. You're photos are great, appreciate you posting them.

I'm really surprised at the dealer being able to make racist comments like that and not get called out for it.

Nice report! I'm surprised you have had decent luck with MC employees overall though. The racist dealer story sounds more like my experience with that place, except substitute racism for incompetence. As for MC itself, I don't mind staying there and love the pool, but just don't care to gamble there. I would be tempted to go back and stay there before we get outpriced by "Park MGM".
