Last minute American Thanksgiving Trip

    Well this Canadian has had enough of winter and it is still fall! Two snowstorms and I am bailing out of town. Bought a ticket on Sunday to go to Vegas and celebrate Thanksgiving with my American friends. My friend S is joining me from Calgary.

    Not many plans have been made due to the last minute nature of the trip. Staying at PHo tonight on her comp and then moving to the Cosmo for the next 4 nights. Will watch football on turkey day at the Cosmo sportsbook and will do a Happy Hour Bumble on Friday, anyone who is solo (or not) that wants to join us is welcome. We will likely go from Cosmo with stops along the way to see if there is a band at Carnival Court, listen to Big Elvis sing a tune and then the Venetian for their happy hour drinks and nibbles. Fair warning, I was in bed at 7pm last time we did this bumble...but I called it a nap because I did get up again to enjoy the evening....later on.

    I plan to play less keno and more VP this trip. Keno hasn't been nice to be the last couple of times so perhaps I need to shake things up. Will play lots of slots and definitely 3 Card and UTH. No dinner plans have been made yet but will definitely try the Cosmo food court. My bankroll is half of my normal amount due to the last minute nature and the fact that I was not supposed to go back to Vegas again until Superbowl. I feel lucky though!

    My flight leaves at 4, not arriving into Vegas until 9:30pm so I have a long day ahead...and I may be a wee bit hung over today due to a work dinner last night.....but I look at it as priming for the next 5 nights!

    Will try to keep up the report. I did better last time than the time before so hopefully that trend continues.

    So far so good. Sitting at the airport in Halifax and no weather issues. I had a glass of wine in the lounge and had to switch to pop. I think I have booze in my system from last night...going to be a cheap drunk on the plane!

    Weather is supposed to be great all weekend, save for possibly some rain tomorrow morning. But certainly better than up north!

    It's become a big thing in the U.S. now, too, given how many states have legalized marijuana. Even in states where it's legal, the airports are governed by federal law, so you can't bring it onto the property. Luckily (at least for now) the unofficial policy is to just ask people to toss it, rather than taking more serious action like an arrest (which, of course, they still do for harder drugs).
