I don't think you're out of line being bothered by service screw-ups, pphold. They don't have a margin for error when it comes to service, particularly not for a good, loyal player and someone who has had bad experiences in the past. This is just a huge fumble, and I'd hold it against them, too.

Reminds me of Ocean's 27 (or was it 13?) where the travel reviewer got bent over backwards 4 ways from Sunday at ever turn (by design of course). You didn't see Basher, Linus and the crew hanging around last weekend, did you?

Every other host had their bounty credentials out and told you what .... I feel like theVUP Character from Ocean's thirteen. When he shakes Al Pachino's Character Willy Banks When he shook Pachino's and thanked him for throwing ... So I should tell Jim Murren thank you for throwing me out of your hotel

When David Paymer's character, The "V.U.P" thank Al Pacino "Willy Banks" for throwing him out of his hotel

This is after I told the hotel Assistant manager to look up the notes in my account and make sure this stay goes well.

To knock on my door not just once but Twice at 8 am and 9:30am to wake me up? When I have a late check out and do not disturb, is unacceptable.

It maybe small but I needed sleep since I was down at the casino till about 4am.

It was stated that I should not return to Aria Hotel by the manager and my host, but go to the casino any time.

This, in particular, just boggles my mind. They should relish the opportunity and embrace the challenge of inviting you back and doing everything to go above-and-beyond to make your stay beyond impeccable. But par for the course in the PGP-era of service, it's sad to say.

The thing that boggles my mind is you keep going back! Sort of defeats the "thank you for kicking me out of your hotel and saving me money" theme...

Sorry I've been gone for a few days but I just wanted to say: This post by Danny......so much this.

In a town with high levels of competition these little slights are ridiculous. Whether it's a comp or a paid room the service should be exactly the same. Because comps are earned at some level, either through play, spend or play spend (loss).

Too many people view comped rooms as "free" but the fact is you paid for that room, on prior trips, on visits through your spend, on meals that you purchased. etc.

In many ways I'm similar to Danny, I pay for my luxury because I'm a low-low-low roller when it comes to gambling. I've always gone to Vegas for the experience. If I just wanted to gamble, to be honest, I could take a drive over to Lake Charles and get my fix in. But in Lake Charles I can't get the restaurants, the entertainment, the atmosphere, the food or (most importantly) the service. To me, Vegas is primarily about the service.

And it IS the little things that matter. To be honest, I can get a (relatively) clean room with a bed, peace and quiet and access to the higher end properties at almost any casino. Hell, I've stayed at almost every casino on the strip, even the horribly shitty ones. Back in the day I didn't care where I stayed, but as I get older I prefer to stay in nicer rooms, resorts because I appreciate the elevated level of service that I get. When I don't get it, I wonder why the hell I picked that place at all?

Does it matter in the grand scheme of things? No. Because there are families who can't afford to take a few days off to go camping, much less to Vegas. I get that, and we're all lucky to be able to go there and do the things we do.

But if you advertise yourself as a top end resort, and charge top tier prices, then you had better get the little things right that make places top end.

I even said that when I booked it but I was winning from MGM. I extended the Caesars room one extra night. Guess I should have extended it two nights and not go to Aria at all.

I wanted to try out the Bed and dinner at Carbone. The new touchpad controls was nice. I did get a room right next to the elevator and it was not a bad room. Just a standard room which was fine.

Had the Privacy button worked and light stayed on it might have not been so bad and I check in at VIP instead of the regular line.

I just thought I'd give them one more chance. Guess that was not a good idea after all. I was having fun at the casino.

What is bad is SLS, The Trop , Wynn and Caesar's would all have got me a room and I would have had zero issues with any of them.

I thought I would give them a try since I did well at Bellagio and NYNY the last trip. And Aria was the only one I could book. besides Excalbur, Luxor or Monte Carlo.

Lol. Good thinking -- might be the only way to get a good side-by-side comparison. I will ask the butler if they would do it when I check into skylofts tomorrow night :D

Highly doubt I can do a late April trip...going to GVR next mon-fri, and then Vegas the weekend after.

Pick me up on your way...lol. BTW, were you at Fashion Island this morning? I saw someone that looked like it could be you but wasn't sure, standing in the Chik-Fil-a line. I was with a friend and didn't want to look like a fool, if it wasn't you...lol. It's hard to make facial recognitions when not under casino lighting...lol. I should have yelled "Natural 9" and see if you would turn your head...hahaha.

GVR and the Vegas trip after, will actually be light gambling trips. I actually booked the rooms for both trips, instead of taking comps...lol. GVR will be a family trip to see if the kids like it...if they don't, I will make VM reimburse me...hahaha. The Vegas trip is just a getaway trip...dinners, shows, drinks, and relaxing.
