Just got back from one of my best Vegas vacations ever. And from a stooge that has taken dozens and dozens of Vegas vacations, that is saying a lot!

So much happened, I had to break the report into two.

    Resorts World Saturday and Sunday.

    https://sites.google.com/site/lvgrid/journal-blog/living-the-dream-oct-24-part-i-resorts-world

    Bellagio Monday and Tuesday

    https://sites.google.com/site/lvgrid/journal-blog/living-the-dream-oct-24-part-ii-bellagio

I wish I could post pictures in here from my site. But Google just wont have anything to do with that.

I'm open to any questions you all may have!

Great TR, you have to love that $7500 win! I have been reading your TR's for years, I can't get over how grown your girls are getting.

    Congrats on a winning trip.

I'm on year 13 of logging these stupid trips. My first trip report was May 2011, back on the "other" Vegas site. That I am no longer a part of LOL. I have since archived that one onto my own site, where I can control the content.

Thanks for sticking with me. Reading those older reports from 10+ years ago, I was much raunchier before becoming a Dad.Those kids do change you I guess. My 8 year old is still my buddy. The 10 year old, not so much. She wants to do her own thing. And I am just a 250 # embarrassment to her now.

Its happening too fast! Since I started having kids:

Sahara turned into SLS, then back into Sahara.
Cosmo got sold to Blackstone, then again to MGM
Monte Carlo flipped to Park MGM
Riviera went *poof* as did the Trop
Hard Rock became Virgin, and no one showed up.
Fontainebleau & Resorts World were born

    Seems like forever!

    Thank you!

Wow! Congrats on the big handpay! And a real kickass room!

And as far as the "janky" tier credit dial goes, it shows the progress starting from 75k. Definitely a long way to go to 200k. :(

Ah, that makes sense on the TC meter! Now I feel dumb. And MGM has stepped up their game with deactivating old cards. I was Platinum in 2023, but when I tried to use that old card in February of this year. The machines wouldn't read it. I was hoping I could play dumb, and still skip lines. It used to stay active in the past. Now, not so much.

I feel like any time you reprint the cards, the old ones may deactivate. We have had some issues with that on recent trips.

Yup, but that is a recent thing for MGM. I used to get duplicate cards for my friends to play on. While I used my old Platinum card, to feel fancy. That worked up until the middle of last year. They'd use what was my Pearl card at the time. And the old expired Platinum still worked for me. The booth printing a new card never changed the old ones from still working. Well, back in the before days.

Just read the first part. What a great trip report! You seem to have good luck on the slots. Any secret strategies you care to share with us?

Thanks for reading it! As for strategies, I have all the basics covered on my blog. While nothing is fool proof, these tend to be the best ways to at least stretch your money. And give yourself the best chance to win.

For me, the goal isn't to beat the slots. That is just too hard to do. Well, I just did. But it took a $7500 handy to get me there. But more so to get more comp value for my play, then my actual play itself. And that means running as much through, with as little lost. To make my ADT higher, and me look like a bigger player. If the room, resort credit, show tickets and limos are all worth $3K. My goal is to lose less than $3K playing.

Avoid the latest and greatest bells and whistles themed slots.

Know the game. Read the rules!

The higher the denomination, the better the odds should be.

Avoid all of those huge progressive machines!

And this is my tried and true, that I have mentioned in my reports before. A long time ago, a host told me to find the oldest and shittiest slots still on the floor. Chances are, if they are from a while ago, before casinos got greedy and ordered everything at 12% hold or higher. Those are still a fair deal. The casino most likely owns them, so they don't have to pay anything back on a lease. Unlike newer slots a lot of the time. And most importantly, if its still on the floor after all these years. That means players are still playing it. And they wouldn't, if they kept losing on it all the time.

Just read this. Didn’t realize you were not posting elsewhere. I get it & got it. Your family is beautiful and you are such a girl Dad.

Love the photos. And way to go for the win.

I believe I asked about this not too long ago and the answer was either 10 or 20 ACTIVE cards will trigger a reset of all previous cards. I generally always go and ask for 2 new cards when I get into town even if I have a card from previous visit.

That doesn't mean that they haven't changed policy to also deactivate all open cards after X days or at beginning of a new year cycle.

Did you ask this question post MLife? When it turned to MGM Rewards we noticed this more often. Last trip it was a noted problem. Maybe I hit the 10 card mark. I dunno. Lol

Thanks! Part one alone would have been a good trip. Part 2 just iced it!

I am so on the fence about going back to Vegas this year to chase Monarch with Resorts World. $600 free play + $100 dining credit to show up. Slam dunk I move up in the players club on day one. Which will get me $350 more in free play, once they credit me my airfare back. Plus a $350 meal to burn.

That is $1400 in up front comps, plus the free room. I'd have a 25% boost to my slot points next year as well. But then being center Strip with Bellagio once more. Makes me second guess if I want to stay on the island of Resorts World again next Vegas season. And if I am holding a fancy card, I might con myself in to that.

Will do. But will not be the masterpiece like you wrote. Rio for one night and Harrahs for 2 nights.
