I was having a conversation with a friend of mine the other day when he mentioned two video poker games that don't seem to be well-known... Triple Triple Bonus and Triple Bonus Deuces Wild. He told me that he had heard about these games from an e-mail that had recently shown up in his inbox.

I know that both IGT and WMS have put out Triple Triple Bonus as a twist on Triple Double Bonus, but I'm wondering which company released it first.

As for Triple Bonus Deuces Wild, the only thing I could find out is that the game exists and is available to casinos. I have no clue as to who was first to release this game, and which other version of Deuces Wild might be the closest comparable game -- going by name I would guess Double Bonus Deuces Wild, but that would only work if IGT was the inventor.

Do any of you video poker players know more about either of these games?

Well, Triple Triple Bonus has been around for quite awhile now. And I'm pretty certain WMS came up with it first as part of their foray into making VP machines with their "myPoker" series back in late 2012/early 2013, which failed miserably, imo. It didn't appear on IGT Game Kings until version 8.x which came out closer in late 2017 iirc. Cosmo has had TTB since 2018 at least. I dunno if WMS sold the rights to IGT, or they did sloppy trademark work.

    Now "Triple Bonus Deuces"?!?!

Yeah I've never heard of that. Can't find anything on it either.

    I've heard of:
    "Double Bonus Deuces"
"Triple Deuces Wild" (3000 for 4 Deuces)

Are you sure the email isn't talking about:

    "Deuces Wild Double Double Bonus"???

Along with TTB, this variant was introduced on Game King 8.x as well.

It's primarily a Deuces game, but you pay an extra credit to guarantee your natural quads get paid like DDB. No more cringing when you get Aces with a kicker at Deuces!

I wouldn't mind if @Cosmo_Slot_Vice_President added this to the bartop lineup as long as he left the other games in tact. And at least 10/8 (5K/SF) would be nice too. ;) What is pictured is 12/10. That's 98.7%.

Now that's a deuces game I'd consider playing.

Thanks. Interestingly enough, I did find a bank of those WMS machines with Triple Triple Bonus today while at a casino, with a 8/5 paytable (*blech*).

As for the Deuces game, it's definitely not any of those variants that you mentioned. I've played quite a bit of Double Bonus Deuces in the past, and can easily find Triple Deuces games around. I even asked my friend about games like DWDDB where you have components of both DW and DDB paytables in play at the same time, and he said it was not one of those kinds of games.

Yeah, 8/5 TTB isn't great, but not awful for some places at 97.55%. Cosmo offers that paytable at the $1-$2 levels actually. @P cubed plays a good amount of TTB since we're both close to Majestic Star. It's the only casino that I'm aware of that offers 9/6 TTB (99.75%).

Is it possible your friend could send a copy of this email, so you could share it here? I'm pretty curious about this Triple Bonus Deuces thing. The only thing i could think of is that it ups the values of various 5 of a kinds even more than Double Bonus Deuces does? OR maybe gives you a 2000-coin payout for 4 2s w/A, 3, or 4? That could be a logical tweak.

If Cosmo had this I wouldn't have PTSD from the morning Borat and I both hit Aces Kicker on Deuces within minutes of each other.

So I just talked with my friend today and he gave me a copy of the e-mail... it turned out that he didn't read it carefully enough. He thought that the e-mail announced that a certain casino he played at was going to have both "Triple Triple Bonus" and "Triple Bonus Deuces Wild" video poker out on their gaming floor, when in fact it was referring to that casino's "social gaming" app. And both names seem to be inappropriate as well. "Triple Triple Bonus" was actually 7/5/3 Triple Double Bonus with jacked up quad payouts, and "Triple Bonus Deuces Wild" was actually Double Bonus Deuces Wild with a wonky paytable where every winning hand from a full house on up (except for five 3s through 5s still paying the standard 50-for-1) had a payoff that was different from any of the well-known IGT paytables.

Mystery solved. A little more careful reading by my friend could've saved some inquiries.

Oops just saw this. Triple Triple Bonus is a bit of a stretch of the name, but given how other poker variants have been named, it's the next step I suppose. It's mostly the TDB paytable, but 4 2-4s with an Ace now pay 4000 credits instead of 2000 in exchange for a straight paying 15 instead of 20. So I guess that makes it another triple? *shrug*

And sounded like i was close on the Triple Bonus DW thing.

Someone remind me to look at Live Wednesday. They have a really weird bonus DW I've played but I can't remember the name now that I've read the above posts lol. Too many titles thrown around.

This ain’t no damn ho’ house.
When I read “historical video poker”, I was hoping someone would make mention of the old coin-dropper Sigma video poker machines (ie: Sigma Double Jackpot, Sigma Flush Attack, and Sigma Deuces)...I miss those old school games.

Do you remember what was the "twist to the game"?

Bonus Deuces Wild: quint 3-5s pay 200, quint Aces pay 400

Double Bonus Deuces Wild: quint 3-5s pay 250, quint Aces pay 800

Double Deuces Wild: 4 Deuces pay 2000

Triple Deuces Wild: 4 Deuces pay 3000

Deuces Wild Double Double Bonus: Pay 6 coins to ensure all natural quads pay at least DDB pay.

Super Bonus Deuces Wild: Quints with only one Deuce pay 800.

800 for the quint Aces -- I've never seen, and hope that IGT wouldn't stoop so low as to offer a DBDW paytable that pays only 500 for those Aces.

I tried to see what games there were but they were all occupied by people who wanted to play keno with awful paytables. I will try again but I do remember now that they have SBDW, DWDDB and TTDB or something like that.
