Anyone ever play in this tournament series? I don't have any more details than this. Don't have the payouts. The info above and dates were referenced in a marketing email.

Sorry for such a late response. I've been playing the M Millions series I think since 2004? 05?. Used to be 5 of them with the finale in January. Now they are down to 4 which is okay with the finale in December? (added some buy ins in lieu of) I think?..You have to have attended at least 2 to qualify for the finale this year. I think the first place for each tourney is like $$25,000 or $30,000 fp. I'll check. Finale prizes are good. You earn tickets throughout the 4 tournaments that you enter into a drawing for the finale (and USED TO BE..top prize $100,000 fp for the ticket winner if you attended all 5 tourneys. One year my name got drawn for second, and had I attended all 5 like I used to would have been $93,500 in fp, but cause I only attended 2 that year only got $18,750 in fp. Over the last 5 years I'm more in to the $500 buy-ins. I simply couldn't do airfare (in US dollars) and to boot the dolla was killing me, and today it's even worse. Was down to 76 cents Friday. MBay does put on a fun tournament. And having been for so many years I've made soooo many friends with the same groups of people that you see EVERY TOURNAMENT..It's very social. I've got the list for all the Mlife Slotties (freebies and buyins) for the year that I don't know how to post, but I can email it to you if you private me. UPDATE: Just go on Mandalay Bay Website and it will show the tournament pay for this free one. 1st is $35,000 fp, 2nd, $15,000, 3rd $7500 and down to 50-100 for $200 in fp, all others $100. Some of us who didn't LIVE in LV or live close just couldn't do all 5 every year plus the three high end invited tournaments, so I had to give up the Millions series. In addition, the freebies can have up to 300 attendies and more, so it's nice to see that for the FINALE this year they have switched to MUST HAVE ATTENDED at least 2 Millions throughout the year. Good luck if you go! I'm doing the $500 buy in at Bellagio the week after.

I'm going to this. It's my first tournament. Thanks for all that info I'M ALL IN. Are people usually welcoming to newbies? I've heard that at some there's like a little reception or something?

Have fun in the tournament. How well can you strike up a conversation with strangers? It's not something that I am good at. Most people playing in tournaments seem friendly, and they have a common interest--playing slot machines. But I've not found others to be particularly welcoming nor unwelcoming. Most people just keep to themselves or whoever they're there with--spouse, friend, host, etc. Sometimes I'll say hi and chat with the person sitting at the machine(s) next to me. But it's not a huge social event or anything like that in my opinion. That's my observation after playing in tournaments at 4 properties. In any case, I'm sure you'll have fun. Good luck.

Of course, we don't want any newbs to win the tournament...Hahah...but I actually haven't been to a Millions for a couple years now as I used to do all but then concentrated more on the buy ins. I personally find the crowd very friendly. I have met people over the last gumpteen Years? that I have been invited to their 50th wedding anniversary, or to a HOST's baby shower, or if I wanna use their 3rd comped tic to the Stones...(no I didn't wanna go)..(I know I've been killed for that)...but yes there is a reception. I'm usually solo, but I have no problem yakking to other gamblers and have long time friends because of it. I find it quite friendly...in addition..I DID NOT DRINK THE LAST TWO OUNCES OF Jameson Whisky that I bought for St Patricks Day. I think there was 3 ounces left!

I have attended this slot tournament for several years. I have always had a good time. Registration is usually on Thursday evening with appetizers and sometimes drinks. The slot tournament ends with a buffet and entertainment on Saturday night. See you there.

I'm about to leave for this tournament. I always have a good time with them. I think they do a good job. I love the dinner they have at the end with the live band. There are a lot of people so your chances of winning are kind of small. If anyone else is going, send me a message so we can identify ourselves.

No, did not win. The tournament offered food during the tournament in lieu of banquet on Saturday night. The format for the tournament also changed. We played three times instead of four times. There was a buy in offer to play a fourth time and you could throw out your lowest score. Incidentally of the top five players, four did the buy in to raise their score.
