After 2+ years of not being able to travel to Vegas finally made it back!! Stayed at Cosmo May 15-20 for my birthday. So thankful that Cosmo welcomed me back with 5 comped nights in a one-bedroom terrace fountain view after being away so long. It felt just like home. I've barely been out of my house so I was worried how I would be traveling and being around tons of people again. As soon as I stepped off that plane it was like being in another world and I left my anxiety behind.

I wondered if after all this time if I still have the Vegas bug or if this was going to be my last hurray at Cosmo. Fingers crossed my relationship with Cosmo will continue as I can't wait to go back. Honestly we barely left the resort which was fine with me as I truly love it there. So this is mostly just a Cosmo recap :)

I'm a slot player and this was the best gambling trip I have ever had. It was perfect no handpays that would take 30% instead just nice hits on practically every machine I touched. It was so much fun.

First morning hit the Henry for my favourite french toast. So glad some things never change.

    IMG_6563D.JPG
So excited to have my first raspberry lemon drop of the trip. I have missed these.

    IMG_6640D.JPG

Ate at the Henry far too much - had a few late night meals there as it was so handy being open late and right next to my precious slot machines. Thankfully everything we had was delicious.

    IMG_6642D.JPG

Beautiful view from our balcony. 30th floor BLVD tower.

    IMG_6647D.JPG
We rented a daybed at the Chelsea pool. I really enjoy having a pool day and the daybeds with the mesh roof gave me enough shade to last the whole day. I think this book brought me some luck later that night....

    IMG_6671.JPG

BAM! Big walking dead fan but these machines have never been kind to me until now!!! Thanks Daryl.

Here is a little shoe porn... was so happy to finally be able to wear my casino shoes somewhere.

    IMG_6715D.JPG

Yes I have breakfast shoes too - perfect to wear standing in line for eggslut LOL

The one I played was the old one - I mean the governor? They need to update these I believe I heard there are new ones but I didn't see any this trip.

On to the birthday dinner at Superfrico. Very cool vibe in this place. We had the gem salad, pizza and chicken parm between us. Yum. Meant to take photos of everything but I forgot until we were almost done so here's some pizza LOL. They even brought out a birthday dessert so I could blow out a candle - nice touch.

Try to go around 7:15 in order to see the entertainment. It happened to start while we were waiting at the bar so had a close up of the first set. Huge props to my host for getting us the reservation at the prime time. The show seemed to start over again at 9:15 as we were leaving. It is basically performers from Opium that make their way through the restaurant - several jugglers and other characters.

Lastly on your way out ask where they check you in where the Ski Lodge is - it is a hidden door that leads to a cozy bar. Even has a fireplace (excuse the blurry pic can't believe I only took the one).

The only other time I was in Vegas on my birthday was back in 2016. I had a vivid memory of the slot machines at Cosmo wishing me a happy birthday but alas this time they didn't. (below photo from 2016) I was thrilled to see Brittney was still there though.

I always laugh when we get back and everyone asks us what shows we saw, etc. Honestly, I love playing the slots and if I'm doing well and can play as much as I want then why would I want to go to a show in the evening. I'd rather play and drink LOL. Thankfully, Cosmo still had my raspberry lemon drops was a little sad to be told no frozen drinks as I also liked having a strawberry daiquari now and then but I get it things have changed in the past 2 years.

So here were my favourite slots this time around:

We freaked out when we saw the Christmas Vacation machine - fave movie we watch every year and even have the christmas village display. Found it strange that they have vacation and christmas vegas but no vegas vacation? I was getting impatient about hitting a bonus so I actually did the buy a bonus thing. Have never bothered before but I had been drinking and was in a winning mood so what the hell? So for $20 bucks I picked the option with the highest volatility and let it ride....BAM $160.

    IMG_6732D.JPG

Love the flintstone machines so was thrilled it was still there. YABBA DABBA DO!

    IMG_7037D.JPG

Ok. This one wasn't at Cosmo. So thankful that my husband noticed it as we were walking through Bellagio (the conservatory was closed but we wanted to see what we could see anyway) glad we did or I would have missed the MARILYN MONROE machines. So sad these weren't at Cosmo but glad I got to play her. Gorgeous graphics.

    IMG_7009D.JPG

    IMG_7015.JPG

Our favourite machines by far were the Little Shop of Horrors. They were just so much fun to play and we both love the movie.

    IMG_6719.JPG

I haven't really bothered with Monopoly machines before but this trip they were my jam. Played 2 different ones. I spent hours on the one. Nice to get to rack up the tier points on casino money :)

We did something out of the ordinary this trip. Hubby really wanted to go kayaking so we booked a half day trip on the colorado river to the emerald cave. I was worried they would end up cancelling on us as the wind was terrible that day and I knew this was going to be highlight of the trip for him. It was great but I am not going to lie it was a really, really hard paddle to get there coming back with the wind behind us was so much better. There were times when we were literally not moving forward at all no matter how hard you paddled. I was glad that we did a tandem kayak even though we both have our own here at home. That way I could rest more LOL.

Also out of the ordinary was shopping. I don't know what came over me (maybe drinks and all the winning I had been doing) but I decided I wanted to buy a pandora bracelet. What the heck it was my birthday after all. It's an alice in wonderland bangle with an unbirthday teapot charm and I also bought the vegas exclusive one that says "Slot Queen". Love it!!

A little fireball cheers to Cosmo and Vegas on our last night.

    IMG_6871.JPG

An amazing trip even with the stupid red eye flight home. Not our choice when our original flight was cancelled but we really wanted to go this particular week and we wanted to keep our premium seats with extra room/drinks so we figured ah it won't be so bad. We've done it before when we were much younger. The last day waiting to go home wasn't as bad as I thought it would be likely because I was still drinking and playing by this point and we had the room to relax in as I booked it for the night. However, as we can't sleep on planes it took days for us to recover from it when we got home. Won't be doing that again I hope.

    Until next time...

Nice report! I totally forgot to look for "Christmas Vacation" this last trip too. Sigh.
    .
And I agree I would enjoy a "Vegas Vacation" slot machine. But two major themes in that movie casinos might not remind you of: Clark being a constantly losing, degenerate gambler. And Rusty gambling underage. I would be shocked if it ever got made.

And M also got that "slot queen" charm. Definitely cute!

Glad you were finally able to get back to Vegas!

It really does. Not quite enough for me to get in a kayak though!!

I really need to try a bit harder on trips to get some stuff like this in. But.... beer and then everything goes wrong.
