So I signed up for the MGM MasterCard to get the bump to Pearl mostly for the free self parking since we’ll be driving out this go around. I know I get the 3x points/TC at MGM properties but what’s the best way of maximizing this? I’m thinking just using the card at check in and then have everything billed to the room as far as restaurants/bars/etc when I’m at an Mlife property but is there another method to maximize building rewards? Thanks!

My husband also signed up on April, we are trying to charge $1000 within 3 billing period so that they will give us $100 worth to spend on their casinos. They just matched my diamond to their gold yesterday while we were there, we would not have gotten the credit card had I known I can get the gold card match since I was not MLife member before, they do match only for new members. I am posting this just in case some diamond card holder who is not yet a MLife member who might be interested in their status match, but the catch is it is only good for a little over one year unless you get qualify again, mine will be expired Sept 2020.

I use mine all the time - just pay it off each month... I have about $150 worth of free play for my trip on Sunday from purchases only since March

I think MLife credit card is better than the Caesars reward credit card because it actually give you teir points for the charges while Caesars reward credit card does not, we will be using more of the MLife card instead of the CR card from now on.

We’ve had the MLife credit card for around a year and charge every normal expense we can to it and pay it off each month. This has not only given us point play each trip, but has enabled us to be at platinum level, since most of our play is with MLife properties. (Before the card we maintained gold level)

Yes, charge everything to your room and pay for it with the MLife card and you’ll be sure to get 3X points.

It is nice that you are Platinum now, even Gold members have to stand in the regular line at the reward desk, but we have not pay for a hotel room in 20 years, we will wait until they offer us comp room, but I think we have to pay resort fee even for comp room, is it correct? Do you pay resort fee since you are platinum member?

We were happy with gold and the standard online offers. Here is what’s changed with going to platinum:
    1. Our offers are for 4 nights instead of 3
    2. Offers include $50-$75 more RC/FP
    3. Free tickets to some concerts, but normally “B” performers, not great ones. Exception has been 2 very good 4th of July concerts
    4. Shorter lines
    5. Platinum experience includes 2 free tix each trip to either the MBay aquarium, Mirage secret garden, Bellagio art display or NYNY roller coaster

Resort fees. Yes, we normally have to pay them. Sometimes the offer says “a resort fee MAY be charged”

All of our offers are online; we don’t have a host. So definitely create an online log in if you haven’t already. That way you can check your points as well. Again, we only play on Ron’s card even though our accounts are linked. We get better offers this way. Unlike CET, we don’t both need to be present when checking into a room using an offer.

Thanks April, that is a lot of good info, good to know when we are in the process of changing from CET to either Mlife or Red Card, but I doubt that we will play enough to continue to get free room from Wynn in the future. Plus MLife has more concert/entertainment, now it is matter if we can play at MLife properties and win some money like you or coming out even is good enough for us. Oh, one more question, do you some times get two comp room, one for you and one for Ron? Thanks again!

No, we’ve only gotten one room. I’ve seen friends & family offers, but have not used them. You play more than us, so you might be able to get two. Although we play very little at CET, we still get comped rooms from them. I book online using their calendar. That way we can double book if needed. We only play on one card there too.

Thank you very much April for your reply, we would only able to play more if we win enough to keep playing. The more we lose, the less points we get. Unlike April trip, we didn't earn a lot of points on the last trip in June. CET is pretty good in giving comp room, I don't use my card too often and don't usually put too many points on it,I mostly played my husband's card. But I still get comp room that I can use for my son or my sister, but CET is pretty tight on free play. Too bad that MLife is only matching gold instead of platinum, I think platinum is better match to diamond in terms of benefit. Anyway, I hope you enjoy Diamond Lounge in July, I like the one at Paris the best, the hours for hot food is different than other Diamond Lounge, it is from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Good Luck and enjoy your July trip.

My regular everyday credit card gives me 2% cash back on everything.

I have Mlife, CET and JetBlue cards and I did the initial spend on all of them to get the bonuses; but I don't bother with them for anything other than specific spend at those merchants, because the max rebate on everything else is only 2% and I'm already getting that.

I got the Mlife and CET cards so I can make sure my Express Comps/points and RCs don't expire. Sometimes it's a little over 6 months between CET stays, and I've been trying to work MLife out of my rotation for like 3 years now, lol.

    • MLife card amounts to a 3% rebate on MLife spend (+ a few extra tier credits)
    • CET card amounts to a 4% rebate on CET spend (you're already getting 1% even if you don't use their card)
    • JetBlue card amounts to an extra 4.2% rebate on fares (a point is worth 1.4 cents and you get 6 points instead of 3 per $1 of fare spend)
