“Do You Think I’m Sexy” in a Happy Meal is cracking me up. Retired teacher myself…..I’d go monthly, but hubs is still working. Need to just go alone!

I don't know if it is that simple. I think the other piece is how theo translates into offers etc. I play what I play--and don't chase a comp. But, I am curious as to the math.

This is true. It may have been a Burger King meal or something... but I know my parents never would have bought it for me. LOL..And if my memory is wrong and they did, who buys that for a 6 year old?

I can relate. T thinks 6 trips for me this year is " a tad much" I'm booked for bday trip Sept 3 to 7 with Santana tickets. I'm interested to see what you think of Usher show? Your trip report was fun! Very cool your family joined you!!! Are you going for NYE? My last trip this year should be NYE.

There must be something under it all that I don't understand and so I'm definitely keen to get an education. I generally play higher bet+shorter time and hosts don't like it. But I'm not going to play 4 hours a day so that they do like it.

Interesting you mentioned a possible trip in Oct…I hear oct 20th-24th is a wonderful time to visit .. hint hint hint :) Though, right now the return flight prices… WTH SW….I mean I know Milwaukee is cool and all ( GO BUCKS GO) but damn!!
Anywho girlie , loved the recap, I don’t understand anything about Theo… I’m like you I just sit down, shove money in, hits buttons, order pretty drinks and hope my money lasts!!! Cheers to your aug trip… you are about to see why I never leave chandy… lol.

Yeah for the tenderloin!! Yes, I went to Beauty and Essex and did love that too. Specifically, the Emerald Gimlet. Yum. Thanks for the hint.... I will keep those dates in mind! Airfare out of ORD right now is not cheap either....but don't count me out yet!

And this my dear, I’m like you I just sit down, shove money in, hits buttons, order pretty drinks and hope my money lasts!!! This is why we are friends.

I can't believe I just landed Tuesday and am already looking forward to my short August trip. A short trip is better than a no trip, right?

I hope our trips align soon!!!!!!!

Well, I know I play hours at a time...something like @Texas Steph playing a whole shift at a time at the Chandy. I hope no one is tracking my play in hours....that's embarrassing. That person might ask, "When does she go to the bathroom?" "Does she eat?" "Does she ever get tired of sitting?" Yikes.

Don't be embarrassed! It is a badge of honour :D

I really don't know too much about it all, but I do see people with very low coin-in getting treated like a rock-star and I'm used to having to wrestle to get a buffet comp. That presumably is down to them putting the hours in.

Tha casino HAS to use time played x % edge x average bet for any table action. For slots, I guess they have your exact results to the penny, so could run off theoretical value or actual value. After that, I have no idea, so I'm all ears. I've certainly had marathon gambling sessions, but they have always been on my terms. Sometimes on TRs I get the feeling people are more interested in points than prizes.

Not broke... don;'t fix :) I doubt I'm going to like the maths answer, but that's ok also, just curious to know what it is. I'm with you in that I'm just going to do what I want to do, and never what a host wants me to do. If it happens to work out well for offers, I'll be happy. So far, it hasn't. Rare comp'd rooms and a bit of old-fashioned grit to get anything meaningful taken off the back end. Sometimes, I hate doing it, other times it is almost a sport.

Yes for the theo number itself, it is that simple. The casino knows how much they expect to win on slot machines. And for most video poker you can calculate it yourself with paytable knowledge. So they just take the machine theoretical hold percentage and multiply by your coin- in to determine your theoretical loss aka "theo".

They also will keep track of your actual win/loss for statistics too.

Yeah how "theo" translates into offers is much more unclear. And I'm clearly not a big enough gambler to give you "personal examples". But one rule of thumb is you should get close to a third of your "theo" back in your room offers, freeplay, charges wiped, etc. A good host might be able to get you a bit more back than that too.

Also what I meant by "trip method" is that Cosmo bases your offers per trip.

So let's say a player creates $1000 of theo over a 3 night stay while another player creates $1000 of theo over a five night stay. At Cosmo these two players should get the same level of offers in their mailers. This is how MLife works too iirc.

But at CET/Eldorado, they are more concerned with "average daily theoretical loss" (ADT). So in that case, a player who has a theo of $1000 over 3 days ($333.33 ADT) will be generally valued higher than a person that has that theo over 5 days ($200 ADT).

@tringlomane thank you for your explanation. I guess I was unclear on the rule of thumb with the comps being a third--luckily I can do that math. The trip explanation helps too. I had an April trip at Cosmo where I did my ususal coin in-but it was over 3 nights instead of 4. I still had the same offer I from them--now I know why!! Thank you!

Only Vegas people understand this. Before covid, we went 6-8 times a year. The closest trips were 10 days apart! We never got tired of going! You go because it’s so much fun, so much to do, great food and drink and the only place you can go on vacation and possibly bring your money back.

Covid changed circumstances for us and we’re doing other things now (besides Vegas), but we’ll always love all of those trips!

    Thanks for posting your recap!
