Summary time for us too! Well maybe just for myself, @Mrs2BOBCATS can add her own thoughts if I'm missing something or misrepresenting.

At this point in our lives it's still a bit of a chore to get out to Vegas due to work & the kiddos, so when we get out there we (or more specifically, I) like to plan lots of activities. Meeting up with fellow VFers was definitely on the to-do list, but we had never done that before and because we weren't sure how it would go we didn't leave an abundance of time in the schedule to just hang out with @Texas Steph & hubs, @bebe & mamacita, @IrishDave & @MrsIrishDave, and @momnkid & hubs. As others have said, those semi-impromptu hangouts were among the best times on this trip, and for our future trips where other VFers are around will make sure to have more time set aside for that.

Golf: Wolf Creek in Mesquite is truly spectacular. No amount of pictures can do justice to the never-ending beauty or enormous elevation changes on that course. It is certainly challenging both physically and mentally. If given the chance, we would play that course again in a nanosecond, and in my opinion any golfer should put that course on their bucket list. Rio Secco in Henderson (specifically Seven Hills) is no slouch, but since it was the other course we played, that lends itself to a direct comparison. For us it had a much more "upscale" feel to it and that sometimes makes us feel uncomfortable. If we never got a chance to play that course again, we'd be fine with it. If we did, we'd be fine with that too. In general, adding golf to the trip meant bringing the clubs, getting a car, and carving out significant chunks of time. Something we'll do in the future at some point, but definitely not every trip.

Concerts: We must have caught Aerosmith on a bad night since most people seem to have very favorable reviews of their shows on other nights. It was Oct 1 when we went, and Steven did a (read off a script) tribute in consideration of the anniversary of the shooting and perhaps they changed the show for that, and if so that could explain all the technical glitches and overall pissy mood that Steven seemed to be in. It was our first Aerosmith show and given first impressions, I'm guessing our last. Again, conversely the Christina Aguilera was perfectly executed and even though I'm not a huge fan, the experience was really, really good. I probably wouldn't see Xtina again but I'd be more open to a similar style show in the future.

Flight: The rumor (which I don't believe myself but is good enough to share) for the flight home being delayed was that both pilots were at the airport - hence the boarding of the plane - and they got into a physical altercation severe enough that the first officer decided to quit and go home. It's probably more likely that the guy was drunk or something, but in any case we don't blame Spirit for that and since we have no expectations for the ultra low cost carriers, we were pleasantly surprised by how things were handled given all the circumstances. The only reason our flight home sucked was because of several of our fellow passengers within our immediate vicinity. I give kudos to the elderly lady in the 3rd row who at one point told the guy in the 5th row (one in front of us) "you're not the only one on this plane" and to "shut the hell up!". In the words of Forrest Gump, that's all I have to say about that.

Car Rental: We booked our car through Spirit because it appeared to be cheaper than booking directly - about $40 less if I recall correctly. So imagine my surprise when I showed up to the Enterprise counter and was told that Spirit's prices don't include taxes & fees which were $80 in our case. If my quick math is right on that, we ended up paying more by booking with Spirit than directly. Maybe that word of advice helps somebody else in the future - I know we certainly won't make that mistake again. The car itself was fine - we don't have Apple CarPlay / Android Auto in our own vehicle but our next one will - those things work great.

Hotels: We are certainly spoiled with Wynn and Cosmo rooms - and spending a night at Southpoint reminded us just how amazing those places are. Privacy concerns aside, we have Alexa at home and really enjoy having that in the Wynn rooms. We also appreciate the water pressure in their shower, even though it's not spacious enough for two :). Those are really the only shortcomings of the Cosmo room - no voice-operated lighting, lack of water pressure in the shower, and (for me) a showerhead that is too low. Minor inconveniences which are more than made up by that view and the balcony. For the past few trips we've jumped around to different hotels, and moving around can be a drag. The $300 FP at Wynn was chewed up pretty good by $19.99 per device per day wifi access in the room. I think next time if we still somehow have that offer we'll book the room but stay at Cosmo.

Meals: Don Vito's at Southpoint was a letdown - we only went there because they had panna cotta on the dessert menu and that was also not very good. But every other meal was just so fantastic. Scarpetta and Blue Ribbon are both places we'd definitely revisit, and I think I'm with @bebe on Wicked Spoon - it's ok with 2 for 1 pricing but we just don't eat enough these days to enjoy buffets. Same with the Wynn Buffet - good because it's free but even then we're finding it less and less enjoyable. Lardo, District, Secret Pizza, The Henry - good for what they are. Holstein's - still haven't eaten there but their milkshakes are amazing. Herbs and Rye was really good for the price. But probably the best meal of the trip was the Top of Binions Steakhouse.

Gambol: We take enough bankroll down with us that we can be comfortable losing it all as long as we are entertained, and there's been many trips where we've come home empty handed. This trip was not one of those. We took down about $2.5k each and given the funds locked at the US treasury, an unclaimed sports bet win, the hit-and-run on the way home, and that we started paying cash for a bunch of things at the end of the trip, we came home with well over half. Carnival Court was a bit of a letdown, but I had my first Vegas handpay, and hit a Straight Flush at the airport. And while the slots weren't so kind to the Mrs in Vegas, she had a couple of big VP hits at Chandelier and a good run during the hit-and-run. For us, the gambling was good enough that it's not "if" we return, it's "when".

Pinball Museum: Definitely worth the visit - we will do this again in the future.

The last couple days of the trip were not jammed with activities and since that's when the weather got better we had much more time for laying by the pool and relaxing.

In the end we're probably out of pocket about $5k including flight, rental car, 6 nights of premium hotels (and a crappy one), 2 concerts, 5 fantastic dinners (and a crappy one), a few dozen cocktails, lots of other great food & desserts, 2 amazing rounds of golf, and many, many hours of entertainment. Vegas for us is still the best value on planet earth.

I'm glad we were able to be a part of this group trip report, and to meet so many great new people. Thanks to everyone who followed along!

Nice recap Mr 2bobcats, Glad that you had a good time with the fellow VFs and went home with 1/2 of your BR. I like Alexa at Encore too, We like the brunch buffet at Wynn better than their dinner buffet, but I don't think I would pay for it if it wasn't free either. The seafood buffet we had at Lake Tahoe was much better and it only cost $30/person. Sounds like you guys really enjoyed this trip. Great TR, thanks for sharing.

I was suppose to go to Vegas staying at Encore today. But our water heater started to leak on Friday, so I cancelled the reservation on Friday not expecting that we could have it replaced on Saturday, I was going to do my Encore TR here, I guess I have to re-book it for Nov. or Dec. and do my TR on a new thread.

I haven't read anything and I am still being crushed here at work. I have some highlights that even @Texas Steph doesn't know about yet.

So this is me just teasing the board. I admit, it has made me smile. LOL

And if I ever have to read the words "flaccid" and "bacon" in the same sentence again... THE HORROR! @HardEleven

Damnit, man! If you get perfect bacon, you don't have time to take pictures of it! You have to shove it in your mouth as quickly as possible, orgasm and ask for more!

Wait, I might have it in a pic of Jim's sandwich. I'll look. My new discovery was the Grilled Cheese at Va Bene. By the end of the trip, I was stopping at The Henry to pick up bacon to go and making it a Grilled Bacon & Cheese Sandwich from Heaven. Scrumpdillyicious.

I could sit here and apologize that I barely posted during the trip but then I'd have to apologize for taking over a week to post a recap and then I'd have to apologize that the recap is woefully incomplete. So #sorrynotsorry.

This trip was a roller coaster from beginning to end and while I regret no parts of it, I sure wish I had worn my seat belt. The ride began many months ago when I changed jobs and moved to my husband's company. I came in to help him and his coworker purchase the assets and start a new business but ended up finding embezzlement and fraud by the coworker. As you can guess, her departure did not go so well and she retaliated almost daily. (Yes, charges could have been pressed and she would have been arrested for felony theft but I don't have time for that. I am now basically running the current business while trying to create a new one.) This whole misadventure culminated Friday night (9/27) when she had phone numbers suspended, including Jim's cell phone. We hadn't even finished packing and here we are sitting in an AT&T store parking lot at 10pm begging for the opportunity to accept financial responsibility for the number. (We will be switching companies once I have time) We didn't get it and had to think about other options. And that is how Jim went to Vegas with three phones and three phone lines LOL.

In order to even have the trip in the first place, after events mentioned above, I made promises to be available each day and work from 6am-2pm Vegas time. I get up each day at 6 anyway, without an alarm, so it seemed like an easy concession to make. What I didn't calculate into this equation was that I would stay up each night until after midnight, some nights making it upstairs around 2am. That hurt. Won't do it again. Great idea, with a perfect hotel room office setup (there is still a hardwire data connection in some rooms), but execution sucked.

    upload_2019-10-14_8-55-12.png
Jim taking a work call Monday morning a la Fred Flintstone. We bring a blanket from home because those balconies can be chilly and it was definitely the right call this trip.
    upload_2019-10-14_8-57-45.png
There are people over in that Paris pool! Sun wasn't even hitting the water yet!

    upload_2019-10-14_8-58-50.png
Look closely. Yes, those are two people hanging from ropes working on the LED lights that were directly below our balcony. A little warning would have been nice. Glad that any eyefuls they got were of Jim LOL.

    upload_2019-10-14_10-3-14.png
Since I forgot the obligatory airport picture, I offer this VIP Lounge view instead. So we show up with two large suitcases, two carry-ons and our UA backpacks. Nah, we don't need bell service. (I subscribe to the grocery bag idea of "Two trips are for the weak") Jacob gets us checked in very quickly and asks if there is anything he can do for us. Well, Ethan is gone so let's see how you mix drinks. Jacob, you are goooood, thank you very much. Sure you don't need bell service? Nah, I will just stack the suitcases and death grip the handles to keep my right hand open for libations and door opening. I am an idiot. Loved cutting thru the Saturday afternoon crowds on the Cosmo main concourse. I am an idiot.
