I’ve heard of the Platinum perk that gets you a discounted cruise on Royal Caribbean but this appears different. Sent an email from my host stating that I would be eligible for a 7 night cruise but that I have to be in Vegas for a certain week to pick up the voucher And that the cruise ship and dates have been set already. Anyone have insight into this?
The January dates actually line up pretty well for our honeymoon, but don’t want to get too excited until I have more info. Thank you!

MLIfe has two different types of cruises. One type you’re eligible for simply by earning platinum. This is booked through the cruise line and is good to use anytime. The other type (that your host contacted you about) is usually casino specific and earned through play at that specific casino. These are usually for a specific set date and include players and hosts from that casino. I’ve never seen the requirement of being there to pick up the certificate in advance before.

I've seen it both ways. I earned one from my local that was simply good at any time on certain sailings. No need to be anywhere to get it. I got a second offer for a free cruise that pretty much had the same opportunity of use, but the physical voucher had to be picked up in Vegas at the Tropicana on a certain weekend. I had a free cruise offer from The Cosmopolitan that also had the requirement of being at the hotel on a specific date in order to pick up the voucher needed to book the cruise.

I meant that I’d never seen that requirement from MLIfe.

Thanks. Wasn’t sure if it was some type of ploy to make us come back to Vegas if we could simply just book it from home ourselves.

It unfortunately is pretty quick turnaround for us. We are going September 12-15 and then would have to come back a month later for cruise voucher.

Hmm...the hosted cruise sounds interesting. Do they usually throw in extras like on board credit and FP for the casino on board. I only ask because we all like to maximize our comps

Well previously we've never had to come pick up a voucher. But it has changed this year. I've been on 4? 5? of the INVITED ONES at MB and the first couple years we had to be in Vegas for the bon voyage party, and of course we also had to gamble to make extra points for a draw as their were prizes for upgraded cabins etc. Plus it was pretty cool going through security right at The hotel/Delano as we left out of the private airport on a private plane to Ft Lauderdale. It's a lot more fun gambling with 100 of your peeps and hosts you see regularly at the slotties. THEN I guess the private jet became too expensive so instead we made our OWN way to the cruise port and then you'd get $750 fp per cabin back at MB. All booze was covered on the ship as long as you were in the casino. And usually at least one specialty dinner, and your host would include you in at least one specialty dinner as well. And there are the welcome receptions with everyone as well. I haven't done a voucher cruise but I know if I want one I can just call RC, if you are Noir you get a free 7 day, Platinum I think it was only 4/5 days but friends say just to call RC and they check your play and comp you the 7 day. HOWEVER, I know I haven't qualified for the cruise this year and I've been told the rules have changed. You have to be there gambling several times, but besides the times I already go down for Slot Tournaments, I simply can't fly down every weekend, AND also attend your HOST'S special weekend and on an on.
