I haven’t found anything but short pay VP at MLife casinos. 7/5 DDB or 6/5 BP. Even their lower tier properties pay tables are bad

Yes, they are all just about the same. Except for a couple of (very limited) exceptions VP on the Strip is a pretty bleak experience. TI, if I remember correctly, is about a notch better as are some of the multi-hand games in select banks. Of course there's the "full pay" bank at Cromwell but you give up pretty much all of your player's card benefits for that bit of joy. Cosmo is a notch better as well. I put in quite a bit of play there on my last trip in June with varying degrees of success.

I typically save most of my VP budget for downtown/other off strip properties now because of the disparity in pay tables.

That said, I do own up to sitting down to a bar in my home casino on the strip every night and playing until I'm inebriated enough to go to bed.

Bellagio has 9/5 in dollars near Lily bar/lounge area. It's has 25 cents and up, but the dollar level is where the decent paytables for most VP games are at there. I had a good run at these machines about 2 weeks ago including 2 handpays and lots of quads. Good luck! :)

Aria has 8/5 JoB at the dollar level, which isn't great in general, but is pretty solid for a bartop. But overall, you're not going to find great VP on the Strip.

I’ve found all of the CET Casinos have 8/5 DDB and The Rio had 9/5. Better than MLife

7/5 Bonus is about 0.7% better though, which is available at most MLife casinos for dollars. ;)
@BeeeJay memorial row 802 at Aria has 9/5 DDB, 8/6 Bonus Deluxe, and 7/5 Bonus for quarters+.

If you say so. The last time I was there I don't remember it being that generous.

Aria row 802, $1 9/5 DDB most everywhere, 9/5 DDB QQ WP at the Mirage (one of my faves for quarters).

It's "theoretically" generous. In practice, Row 802 usually kicks my ass.

Or did you mean a paytable downgrade? Hopefully not that. It's been those paytables for at least a few years now.

For many years it was my favorite place to play VP. I avoid it now.

I still go back every once in a while for nostalgia sakes, but in general, I don't like playing there any longer.

I'm almost 100% positive they've reduced the likelihood of triggering a multiplier as a means of increasing the house edge while maintaining a decent pay table.

I can't necessarily rule that out since greed exists in this world. But it would be illegal of course unless they explicitly changed the multiplier probabilities in the rule screens. Every time I've looked (it's been a long while though), it's been 1 in 15 for STP with a 4.05X average, and 1 in 15 each for deal and draw Double STP with a 4.01X average.

Considering what others have hit on it on this forum, notably @BeeeJay and @alexanbo, it does crap out multiplied quads now and again.

I feel your pain on the lack of multipliers though. Apparently on regular STP, I had a streak of 53 quads without a multiplier that stretched over a few years until I finally broke it in January. That sucked. But in a "fair" game that still should happen (14/15)^53 = 2.58% of the time.

I didn't realize they advertise the multiplier frequency and average on the machine. That's interesting.

But, I can't see why manipulating the the multiplier would be illegal. It's the bonus coins that are at stake with the multiplier. And, it seems to me those bonus coins play just like any slot machine and wouldn't be regulated any more than any other slot machine on the floor.

I suppose if they advertised it, they'd have to keep to it.

I shall be looking out for that next time.

Yeah, it's only against regulations if they lie about the actual probabilities in the help screen. They could have made the actual probabilities whatever they liked when they designed the game. Historically, most "gimmicks" add a small amount of return longterm. But variance with the gimmicks can be brutal.

Now the 10-coin game "Hot Roll Poker" on the other hand, the average multiplier must be 7X by regulation, because a simulated dice roll must have the same probabilities as an actual dice roll.

As for the probability of the Hot Roll feature being triggered, IGT had full control of that and disappointingly chose 1 in 6, which results in no change to the return. :( I had hoped they'd choose something like 1 in 5.95 instead, which would increase returns by about 0.41%.

Actually at Mirage, 7/5 BP for 25c was everywhere...I was rather happy to see it

But do the usual video poker laws
Apply to this machine? Because technically Alexanbo and I consider it an ATM!

It was giving me multipliers more often than Gaggles is approached by Hookers at the seedy CET properties he frequents.
