Just to add to the conversation, I went through a well known independent host for a European cruise I want to take this summer for my mom’s 70th bday. It’ll be the 30-year anniversary of the first family cruise we took when she turned 40. I was able to get a comped room for myself and casino rate on 3 other rooms, saving a substantial amount. I couldn’t be happier with the independent host and the deal they were able to negotiate on my behalf on Royal Caribbean.

Thanks, I looked up mine and do have an offer, in the "trade in value" shown $750

    What does that mean?

you have a $750 voucher towards the purchase of a cruise on either cruise line. if you do book, make sure they give you everything you're due. waived cc cash withdrawal (easiest way to get cc pts thats linked to your room key, seapass card) and i think a welcome amenity and $100-$300 onboard credit. the priority check-in and departure is all BS, bc it's a clusterfuck on day 1 and last day.

That's correct. For anyone who went to the site and saw an offer, I'd recommend searching your inbox and spam folder for "Cruise with M life Rewards!" to see your sailing offers. I checked and the sailings offered to me do not qualify for any extra perks from RCI/Celebrity beyond my MLife status. I'll share my quarterly (not to be confused with annual) offered sailings:

    Royal Caribbean International
    Independence of the Seas
    March 9, 2019 • 5 Nights
    Fort Lauderdale → Western Caribbean

    Navigator of the Seas
    April 21, 2019 • 5 Nights
    Miami → Western Caribbean

    Brilliance of the Seas
    April 29, 2019 • 5 Nights
    Tampa → Western Caribbean

    Enchantment of the Seas
    May 6, 2019 • 7 Nights
    Galveston → Western Caribbean

    Enchantment of the Seas
    June 28, 2019 • 7 Nights

    Fort Lauderdale → Bahamas

    Equinox

i will also add, if it is your first cruise.. def go on a smaller boat. idk if i made a mistake booking the symphony for later this year. deal was too good to pass up.. grand suite comped! i did the allure last sept, it was the worst.. service in the casino/restaurants were lacking. i get that the staff is overworked, but i saw a server snap at a guest on day 1 for dinner. i literally walked out after seeing that crap.. it's fn day 1 and you're already mad?!

room stewards on every ship have been stellar!

most importantly, there is usually a soft serve machine by the pool. ;)

To piggy back off what beanie is saying, do some research before booking your cruise. If you want better service, odds are significantly better that you'll receive it from a Celebrity cruise over a RCI cruise regardless of ship size.

Q2 offers are displaying on the website, however it doesn't tell you which select cruises you can receive nor have I received the email displaying the cruise offers. Last quarter I received the email on 1/30 and the site referenced above just displays cabin category and credit amount. Will probably receive the email any day now although I'd imagine you call.

Sailed on RCCL and Celebrity several times each through casino.
    Celebrity is definitely better gambling.
A few years ago RCCL had single odds on craps vs.3x4x5x on Celebrity. May have changed now.
Celebrity casino dept .is Blue Chip Club.888-751-7804
That being said ,I am currently working on a cruise for March 2020 and looks like I am going to get a better deal from an independent host who has been emailing me.
$750 credit from the cruise line to extend from 3/4 days to 7 is not really great.

I sailed Royal Caribbean in March and odds allowances for craps were based on bet size, which was odd to see. But it was a small ship/casino with a few other odd rules here/there.

I second Beanie's comment about starting with a smaller ship, and perhaps a smaller length of trip too. Did Brilliance of the Seas in March out of Tampa, five nights, and it was a great first cruise.

I think the problem with crew on these ships is the last guests get out first thing in the a.m. and by noon the next guests are already largely boarded; it looks to be a conveyer belt that never stops for months. One of the cocktail waitresses in the casino I saw close the casino the first night I was on board and she opened it the next morning less than seven hours later; every time I saw her I asked her if she was getting rest because she seemed like she was almost always there, but she looked after me and I tipped her accordingly.

I’m currently on the Anthem of the Seas on my platinum free cruise. It’s been decent so far, but tonight, well, something I’ve never experienced before.

I’m playing blackjack as I always do, with my girlfriend next to me. There’s a dealer change, and the most unfriendly dealer comes, who has a look on his face that he just doesn’t want to be there. I mean, I’ve seen that before. He also decided to make various comments as I’m playing about how it’s customary to tip. I’m quite familiar with tipping, just ask the dealers and my host at Aria, but I do it at the end of a session, not in the middle. To make matters worse, when I get up for a few, he tells my gf about how much he earns, that he’s paid worse than housekeeping and the waiters. Then when I return, the same to me, tells me how much he makes and I should be tipping him.

Telling me to tip is one way not to get a tip. I’ve never been treated this way in a casino before, in fact, I’m really quite upset about it. I spoke to the casino manager (I’m the largest player on this cruise by far), told him what happened (but wouldn’t share the name of the dealer). He said the dealers sign confidentiality paperwork that they can’t discuss their compensation (common sense?), but clearly this guy didn’t follow it.

Maybe I’m overreacting, but it just doesn’t sit right with me and I’m thinking of packing it in and not gambling anymore. And I have another cruise in August and thinking of cancelling that because I have such a bad taste of this. Has anybody else ever experienced anything like this before?

I qualified for Platinum status back in August, and I still haven't received an email about my free Platinum cruise. Wondering if I'll get one shortly, since 10/1 is the new period. Frankly, wouldn't have been able to take advantage of it last month anyways, but I would like to make sure I schedule it for early next year, so I hope I get it soon.

Going to call Celebrity later this month if I don't hear anything. By the way, having done Royal and Celebrity, I recommend Celebrity all the way. Food and service was great, and they have been renovating their whole fleet. Though the Royal cruise I went on was pretty short, so one of their oldest ships.

I think its usually like 20-30 days but im not sure but I always check just to see if something more magical shows up. But id just call them up if you have a specific cruise and see if anything applies. They can see other things that dont show up. I just booked the mlife 7 day balcony I picked up over the summer. The lady said it was for guaranteed and then checked and I could book specific cabins. She was one of the nicest people I have ever talked to on the phone. All in 7 day balcony like $330 with taxes and gratuities. Plus still get mlife platinum $200 onboard credit. Funny thing is my damn flights will be double or triple that...lol. This was with Royal Caribbean and will only be my 2nd cruise with then. 1st was of course free mlife when they 1st started the program...lol.
